I'm glad to see that person with his rifle to help guard his flock. Especially the white alpaca who stood it's ground. I've always wanted a small flock of alpacas farm but never got around to do it. It frightens me that these animals need our help in defending themselves. No dogs? Certain breed of dogs are trained to ward off intruders and alert the owner(s). Why would a human be hurting alpacas with a rifle? That makes no sense at all. Obviously, the rifle is for the bear. It appears to be a black bear which is not hard to scare off and is usually unaggressive.
I hear if you have alpacas, get a llama too, it will guard the flock. Donkeys are pretty good guards too.
There was a llama. Rescued it and so old. Will look for another.🦙🥰

every alpaca voice is different :) or unique to that Alpaca

Always scare them off first as we have horses too. But if a continues threat we shoot to kill but nothing goes to waste and eat the meat.
