How wonderful. Creativity means NOT doing things the same way! Godard had his tempo in mind, but for all we know he may have liked this one too. If we didn't change things to make something new, we'd still be hitting hollow gourds! Imagination, creativity, invention. All so important! Love it.
It went very well. I performed it this month. It was well received and one person in the audience asked me to play some more Godard next time I perform! Thanks for asking!
There's no limit to how fast or slow you play a piece. It actually sounds better a tad faster than what is normally played. Also, it's ridiculously hard to play soft on high notes, and the high Bb to an a g, is actually written in starting at forte with a crescendo, so no he shouldn't tone it down at all. Actually learn the piece before you criticize at all. He has a gorgeous tone, and played this piece exceptionally well.
@@ionbogdanstefanescu You are very welcome. If you ever come to Boston to perform, it would be an honor to see and meet you. Thank you for sharing your amazing artistry with us.
I love this piece!! Just finished it with my instructor at this speed. I’m in eighth grade going into ninth this august. The second page last three lines feel impossible sometimes! Keep working everyone!!
I am impressed with the fact that his fingers can move that fast but too be honest I think it's a little too fast. When playing runs we want to be able to hear what's in between, not just the beginning and the end.
Thanks. I've played the entire suite in concert before. The common "error" with this piece is that's it's played too fast (just as the Idyll too slowly). Ion is a wonderful flutist and musician but he's pushing this to allegro and should be lyrical and not a race. It is also faster than Godard's original time measure. The user (lolcow) has uploaded a very nice version and ( realizing that it's only "my" opinion) a bit more controlled. Let me know what you think.
The most important is the second bit, not the first one. Second bit has to be very clear all the time. So, emphasise (no accents) second bit in your mind all the time and keep your fingers closer to the kees. But, in music the speed is not so important, the clarity is the most important. In other words, as clear as it is, the faster it seems. Good luck!
Love the style, and the notes are crisp, clear, and beautiful. I wouldn't play the upper register so forte. Especially on the D# chord up to the high A. Also, try playing with the arpeggios at the end. Start dramatically slow, then speed up like crazy! I do love this piece though.

I'm doing this...in like half that speed lol

I'm working on this piece. Hopefully by the end of the summer I'll be more up to speed. This video is breathtaking and inspirational.
I am working on this for one of my recitals next year! Bravo!
How did it go? I have one in 2 weeks

@@cubasestudent55 Congrats!
Thank you. Now my audience is requesting that I perform “Idylle” next time. I’ll take that as a compliment.
What I hear right now is just fantastic. The tone is just fantastic and just the skill needed for this speed.
This is sooo amazing! I'm working on this for an all county solo (9th grade)

That was FANTASTIC. Beautiful tone. Loved his tempo. About the tempo I performed it back in my teens. LOVED IT!!
Thank you very much. Glad to hear that.
Thank you so much.

I agree!
The piece is called and was meant to be played with an allegretto style
I agree. It beautifully phrased and it should be played with some musicality.
If you've got it flaunt it I say. I'm playing it for grade 6 and would be grateful to play it at its original speed with this accuracy and musicality.
im cryint this is so fkn good
What I aspire to be able to play well in the next few weeks =]
How can you play it so fast especially the last part?? I’m currently practicing this piece for a concert

dang he can play!!
ah geez i have to play this for a solo 💀
I am working on this solo, but I don't know if a can make it that fast! (7th grade)
he is doing faster than most of musicians do it I know it is kinda too late for you lol I think you know that by now :)
How do you do trills with your pinky so fast
1:22
It's called Allegretto ...
Starshine Games français
who is running after you? why Presto and not Alegretto ?
Who is this arranged by?
I'm Working on this PIECE at my own speed obviuosly
this is too fast, this song is at 112. so don't get too scared hahah
@rsdonomoore that's just coz the people you heard couldn't play it up to tempo...
@Xendza032 Its called ALLEGRETTO not allegro or presto shouldn't go that fast sometimes its just overdone
Love the style, and the notes are crisp, clear, and beautiful.
I wouldn't play the upper register so forte. Especially on the D# chord up to the high A. Also, try playing with the arpeggios at the end. Start dramatically slow, then speed up like crazy! I do love this piece though.
I found his constant body motion distracting.
lol missed the first note
i mean, you move too much!
move too fast! but good!
How do you do trills with your pinky so fast
I guess I am lucky. No other explanation. Or, maybe because I played pianoi for many years. That can be a good explanation. All the best.
