They knew exactly how to do horror comedy back then it is funny how the series started on a Christmas episode but Halloween episodes are what it is remembered for well technically speaking it started as shorts for The Tracey Ullman Show
I watched "Are you afraid of the dark"with all the kids I babysat 😂🧡✨🖤 sometimes I'd bring glow in the dark nail polish or stickers. We had so much fun😂
I was just watching Eerie Indiana last week on DVD, I grew up watching the show as a kid, I wish it had another season with the original cast like Omri Katz. Also I’m glad you mentioned Dr Quinn Medicine Woman, that show was underrated, it’s like Little House on the Prairie of the 90s!
My all-time favorite Halloween episode of any show is Quantum Leap S3E5 "The Boogieman". It's a great example of 20th century small town horror in the vein of HP Lovecraft or Stephen King. Considering that Quantum Leap was not a horror series, that episode had some genuinely freaky moments.
Great idea for a video. There are some classic holiday episodes of various shows over the years. I'd add that Home Improvement and That 70s Show had some memorable Halloween episodes. Of course the best will always be the Tree House of Horror Simpson's specials.

Thanks for asking! We made a list of 10. We have plenty of others lined up that we were excited to cover. But there doesn't appear to be much action on this one so we haven't decided upon continuing with more planned Halloween specials yet.

Yeah, the Stevil episodes are the ones that most people are gonna remember when discussing Family Matters Halloween episodes. Though the ones included on here, were memorable too. I wish I could remember the Dinosaurs episode discussed above.
I remember begging my dad to run us to the store to buy a blank VHS tape so I could record that episode of Are you Afraid of the Dark 30 mins before it premiered. Made it just in time.
The Boy Meets World episode is the first episode of the show I saw. The rest of the show did not live up to it, but I watched a lot of it trying to relive the thrill.

Well, I saw the Boy Meets World and Are You Afraid of the Dark episodes, mainly because I've got the full series of those on DVD. All of these though does at least sound interesting. Thank you so very much, and hopefully you're having a Happy Halloween Month. 👻🎃
Narration mentioned Urkel doesn't miss a step during his legendary "dance of joy" - I believe you may have mixed him up with Balki from Perfect Strangers, as he has the legendary dance of joy. All great TGIF content nonetheless.
Yeah, we get it. It's all wrapped up in the same package by design. Family Matters is a spin off of Perfect Strangers and if you watch the episode, our being in on that is part of the joke. It's kinda nice to be able to look back on Family Matters and see how free they were about references to other shows and they would tip toe along that line of breaking the fourth wall but it never felt awkward. Thanks for watching and for commenting too!

I'm glad to hear that! Just resize them in your editing software and it should be just fine. Even if the source was pan-and-scanned aka cropped. Its just the perceived stretch that's distracting. I really enjoyed the video otherwise, and infact I had a little list as I watched it - writing down episodes to go back and watch for the season. 🙂
Hey thanks! We could use the feedback on this one. Being the first time we premiered a scheduled video, it didn't get around like our regular videos do. We decided not to give up so we're making a second Halloween video right now. Thanks for watching and for commenting too!
4:3, never 16:9 for old clips. The stretch isn't a better choice than black bars on the sides. It's not jarring to go from full screen clips to the widescreen banners and filler video between them. As someone who views ALOT of TH-cam content handling 4:3 content, this is a piece of advice that can help future videos like this. I otherwise enjoyed the content itself and would enjoy more if you can adjust that little issue. If you need examples, look up some retro videogame content and retrospectives here on TH-cam. Best wishes on the channel going forward! It reminds me a lot of Classic Gaming Quarterly, Sega Lord X or GTV Japan.
i remember when Are You Afraid of The Dark was on TV, I think it was on SNICK Saturday night but there were also reruns during the daytime and it was like a Sunday afternoon when I was in like 2nd grade watching an episode in my parents room (they weren't in there) on their TV and I started napping and had creepy dreams while the show was on... oh okay i watched more of the video after i wrote that it covers Are you afraid of the dark on SNICK
First Scott Bakula, now Joey Lawrence. Can't we all just get along? Will there be a sequel episode? There are a bunch of shows you didn't mention, like the Family Matters where everyone is a vampire or the ones with Stevil.
Those Dr. Quinn tv movies were one of the few that I never had a chance to watch fully either because I had to leave or power went out each time I was extremely invested in watching not something that I could normally say about a show that pretty much looks like a old west romance novel turned into a tv series
I'm surprised by the Dr. Quinn episodes being on here but no Home Improvement or Roseanne episodes? Did animated Halloween specials not count either cause The Simpsons Treehouse of Horrors and Beavis & Butt-Heads are classics.
i watched all these shows when i was a child and i loved halloween! and i was so annoying, me and the neighbor kids would play in other people's yards usually we got permission and when we did that on one halloween we were also trying to the neighbor lady to give us halloween candy early before it got dark
I particularly remember a Halloween episode of the Wayans Brothers, where Shawn & Marlon try to prove to Pops, that he's foolish, for believing that the ghost of a woman, who died after falling out of an elevator, in the very building they work in, will return on Halloween night, to eat a donut & drink some coffee, left by Pops, to appease her spirit. The plan is for Marlon & Shawn to eat the donut, & drink the coffee, which they do. However, it turns out that everyone else was already unto their plan, & attempt to scare Shawn & Marlon. At the end, it turns out that the ghost of the elevator operator lady, is indeed real, as she shows up, while being invisible, & takes another donut & coffee, that were left out for her. I remember, that episode actually terrified me, the first time i saw it, cause of the ending, lol!
7:48 Man, if I had a house I’d love passing out candies on Halloween. It makes me sad to see that the Holiday is seemingly being phased out of American Culture at least it is my slice of the country. Halloween is our country’s day of the dead, we are supposed to remember and pray for the souls of the dead, and it’s also a time for festivities. We shouldn’t lose it. It’s our analog of Dia de Los Muertos people!
Why the hate for Joey Lawrence. You covered everything thing else so directly. But then you get to Joey and let loose. Just curious. What did he do to you? Got a thing against hair?
We have more in the works. We really can't promise Buffy yet. It's on our radar, just received so many requests that space filled up fast. Though, any titles we don't get to will certainly be set aside to be covered in the future. Thanks for asking!
Odd choice to put the two "Are you Afraid of the Dark" entries on either side of the "Pete and Pete" entry. Mostly because the other prt1-prt2 entries are back to back.
I like to watch channels like this and guess if/how much of the scripts and voice overs were done via AI/bots. The weirdly passionate rant about Joey Lawrence's hair just thrown into the middle of the video feels so personal that I kind of feel bad for doubting you now, lmao. (Not a dig at the channel, btw, you're just in a genre that account farms love to copy, so I go into these assuming the worst, lol)
We have more in the works. I can let you know now that we won't be covering any Simpsons specials this season. When we tackle The Simpsons it'll likely be a massive project. And in order to do it justice, it'll have to be it's own separate project. Probably like 8hrs long! 😅 Thanks for watching and for commenting too!

Right?! No candy for us this year 😅. We have multiple Halloween special videos lined up. First one got off to a slow start but we've decided to go ahead with another. We have too many requests to please everyone but at the moment it's looking like Roseanne episodes are gonna make it in.
So happy you shouted out Eerie Indiana. What an amazing show
Doug's Halloween Adventure is still one of my favorite 90s Nicktoons Halloween specials of all time !
The Simpson’s Halloween episodes in the 90’s were the best.
They knew exactly how to do horror comedy back then it is funny how the series started on a Christmas episode but Halloween episodes are what it is remembered for well technically speaking it started as shorts for The Tracey Ullman Show
Also Roseanne
My brother was just saying the other day that the 90s were the best.🧡💀🖤 I'd say late 80/90s but it really was a great time to be a kid😊
We got some real nostalgia here! Eerie Indiana! Are you afraid of the dark! Just cozy 90s halloween goodness.
Thanks for joining us
You should rank every Halloween episode between Home Improvement, Roseanne, and The Simpsons.
This content is perfect for a chill early fall Friday night
Thanks that's the intended vibe
Thanks for this video! Every year I’m always looking for more Halloween tv episodes to watch!
"Tricks and Treats" from "Freaks and Geeks" is a solid, if melancholy, Halloween episode.
We have a list that keeps growing. There are so many to choose from.
Great episode
Dude! Great video! I look forward to your uploads. Appreciate you!
Thank you
