Love X Files and 3rd Rock. I rememberAlex Mack but I'm not sure I've watched it. Looks amazing. Think I know Unhapply Ever After. Don't know the other one
@TheReviewStudio - I'd love to see an episode that focuses on '90s tv series spinoffs of movies. Highlander: The Series Conan: The Series RoboCop: The Series The Crow: Stairway To Heaven The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles Buffy The Vampire Slayer Stargate: SG1
3rd Rock was amazingly hilarious. John Lithgow was a fantastic performer, and the rest of the cast was great too. As for Unhappily Ever After, Nikki Cox's character was so much better than Kelly Bundy.
I loved Alex Mack! I think that actress went on to do numerous other shows or movies. She sort of reminds me of Britney Spears' Mickey Mouse years or Katie Holmes' Dawson's Creek era.
I watched quite a few episodes of X-files. The episode that has stuck with me the most was when Scully singing Jeremiah was a bullfrog while in the forest during a case.
When Snick was geared toward young teens they were at its peak. It was frustrating when executive meddling lowered the maturity of the tone of the whole block.
What was remarkable about Third Rock from the Sun was that the idea of aliens sent to Earth undercover is very old and cliche, and yet the writers constantly found original and unexpected takes on the concept.
I think what set 3rd rock apart is that it wasn't trying to be weird or do crazy outrageous gags just for the heck of it. All of the humour helped the characters grow as it was almost always based on unintentional misunderstandings and/or not knowing any better, and learning from it. It really played into aliens trying to learn and fit in, instead of just aliens doing weird things and people thinking the aliens are just weird and eccentric.
I've been thinking about this. While I agree, I think we may be biased. Our parents mostly hated our generations everything, and we didn't jive with theirs until we got older usually. Currently I don't feel like anything has been as good since the 90's maybe the early oughts, but gen z heavily disagrees. Now we have gen alpha and they disagree with gen z and millenials lol. I think it's the natural order of things. I try and stay receptive to the best things or missed gems from all generations, life's too short to limit oneself eh?
Same. Always a treat to see she is still acting and pops up in shows from time to time. Like in an episode of Law & Order SVU and a few episodes of Hawaii Five-0. I guess I will have to check out "The Healing Powers of Dude" now.
The first four seasons of X-Files are about the best thing ever. The chemistry between Mulder and Scully has never, and will never, be matched ever again.
Loved both Alex Mack and Unhappily Ever After. I always saw Unhappily as a pretty good Married With Children clone, but I had no idea they were both from the same creators. Also pretty interesting that we might not have had Breaking Bad without X-Files. Or it might have been very different.
Yeah he actually began developing Breaking Bad while working on the final season of the X-Files knowing he would need another gig soon. If you're interested in hearing more of the crazy story of how Vince Gilligan got into television he did some great interviews th-cam.com/play/PLAE02EA165851C87A.html&si=vQYz1VQC03nangeB
The X-Files, to me, has to be one of the greatest shows that has ever been made. I have seen some episodes of Alex Mack, Unhappily Ever After and 3rd Rock from the Sun. I never did check out Strangers with Candy, but if I find it online, I would check it out. When I was a teenager, I also had a crush on Larissa Oleynik. Great lists of shows.
I liked 3rd Rock From The Sun and I have been rewatching it recently. I have never forgotten the intro music or especially the graphics as I had not seen graphics like that on a TV show before. Loved the X-Files too. The others I have not seen but I have heard of Alex Mack.
3rd Rock from the Sun is my favorite sitcom, Strangers With Candy is my favorite Comedy Central show, and The X-Files is my second favorite sci-fi show (after the OG Twilight Zone). The 90's were an amazing time for entertainment.
I loved secrer world of alex mack as a kid. We watched unhappily ever after and 3rd rock. I remember all of these shows. Although I dont remember strangers with candy from the 90s.
Yet another amazing episode… unhappily ever after and Alex Mack were stored WAY in the back of my memories… I loved those shows. Thank you for bringing them back to the surface!
Loved Unhappily ever after. Watched it recently it was really funny. Plus it had a young Mila Kunis. This really needs to be on streaming or even on physical like dvd or blu-ray
Wow, a rare video, I'm familiar with all 5 of them, and Alex Mack, 3rd Rock, and X-Files I have the full series on DVD. Only one I've not seen any episodes of was Strangers With Candy, but I knew about it due to commercials from shows dad taped off of Comedy Central. Didn't look like it would appeal to me though. And Nikki Cox, oh yeah, seeing those episodes on tape of Unhappily Ever After, and she was an early girl crush of mine. Not the first, but did help shaping me into realizing that I liked other women in a different kinda way. 😉 Anyways, enjoyed this video. Thank you for it.
I remember watching Alex Mack as a kid but didn’t remember much about it besides the premise. Saw a little bit of Third Rock from the Sun as a teenager.
I loved unhappily ever after but no one seems to remember it when I bring it up. Im like really the talking bunny on the couch and they look at me like I'm crazy
Loved all these shows. I also worked as a studio page on the fourth season of Unhappily Ever After. Bobcat was so down to earth. The catering was amazing and it was so much fun to be apart of. Miss those days
Thank you for making these episodes, the Review. I saw many glimpses of these show while growing up in the 90’s, but I never regularly watched them because my dad, who owned the remote, didn’t like these shows. I couldn’t for the life of me remember their titles/names either. Especially‘Unhappily Ever After’. That bunny made me laaaauuugh.😂 Thanks again, and keep up the great work.
Well, the X-Files and 3rd Rock From the Sun were two huge hits in the 90s, so they don't fit very well in this list if the aim is obscurity. I mean, 14 million viewers? Those are crazy numbers by today's standards.
Ive seen all of these shows at one time or another, I will say Alex Mack and Unhappily Ever After is underrated. I am suprised that 3rd Rock has somewhat been forgotten over time, despite its popularity when it first aired.
The only show I haven't seen, but I do have on DVD, is 3rd Rock From the Sun. Everything else, I was a pretty devout watcher. The slow tragedy of Nikki Cox is depressing, she was obviously incredibly hot on the show, but drugs and plastic surgery have really ruined her. Still, I wish Unhappily had a legitimate DVD release.
I foung Unhappily Ever After on TV in '96 when I was 16 and had just been in a bad bike accident. It caused a scar on my face from how hard it made me laff!
3rd rock from the sun was hilariously unhinged when u binged it for rhe first time last year. Loved rhe whole show abd was sad ir ended. Freakazoid was another show like that imo
"The Secret World of Alex Mack" is a series that has rattled around in the back of my head for decades under the label 'Capri Sun Pouch girl' for the VFX of her turning silvery liquid. I've tried off and on for years to remember what it actually was.
Even if you lived under a rock back in the 90’s you still would remember the X-Files and 3rd rock from the sun. The X-Files was a great mix of sci-fi, horror, and fantasy. One of my favorite episodes was Redrum, a friend of agent Doggett was caught up in a strange time travel where he had a chance to save his wife. There were no aliens or monsters, just a man trying to save his family. It was one of those rare episodes where the main characters were barely on screen.
Nickelodeon was THE SHIZNIT, back in the 90s‼️‼️‼️‼️…and I used to REALLY enjoy the, Married With Children knockoff, Unhappily Ever AFTER. I ADORED Tiffany’s mid-nineties style outfits😍😍😍
I watched Strangers w/Candy, 3rd Rock, and the X-Files. I was in grad school in the 90s, and we would have get-together to watch the X-Files at my place.
I loved watching 3rd rock from the sun. I never watched x files as a kid, but i did remember the intro creeping me out so it probably prevented me from watching the show back then lol.
We watched x files as a family despite it being responsible for many a childhood nightmare. We also watched 3rd rock from the sun and looking back there were a lot of jokes that went over my head lol. Red volvo lmao.
Unhappily Ever After is one of those shows I loved but can only remember small things. I remembered Mr Floppy but had no idea what his name actually was or where Id seen it

@TheReviewStudio - I'd love to see an episode that focuses on '90s tv series spinoffs of movies.
Highlander: The Series
Conan: The Series
RoboCop: The Series
The Crow: Stairway To Heaven
The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Stargate: SG1
Before French Stewart starred on 3rd Rock, he starred as Lt. Feretti in the Sci-Fi film Stargate (1994). Kind of ironic.
“The Secret World of Alex Mack” was MY JAM as a kid! Actually all five of these were shows I watched at that time. Man I miss tv 📺 like this.
3rd Rock was such a great show. Every couple of years, I binge the whole show.
I miss it. Over the top but still funny
The over the top comedy works because the characters are not human. If it were human characters doing tge same thing, it would come off as annoying.
Same
3rd Rock was amazingly hilarious. John Lithgow was a fantastic performer, and the rest of the cast was great too.
As for Unhappily Ever After, Nikki Cox's character was so much better than Kelly Bundy.
Alex mack is a good show
Alex Mack was my favourite show. I was shocked to find out that most of my friends had never heard of it before. It was such a gem.
It really was. Thanks for sharing

@@benbelzer8303 I remember her being in the Babysitters Club movie and 10 Things I Hate About You
I'm a big 3rd Rock fan. Picked up the complete series on DVD a while ago. Just good nostalgia and good vibes.
I swore i thought 3rd rock was a 2000s show
I watched quite a few episodes of X-files. The episode that has stuck with me the most was when Scully singing Jeremiah was a bullfrog while in the forest during a case.

couldn't have said it better myself, I completely agree.
@@TheReviewStudios you forgot to like this post
@@ShinySephiroth1 I tried. I'm sorry.
Alex Mack was awesome. One of the strangest shows from the SNICK era of 90s Nickelodeon. That era had alot of great shows.
So many great shows. They'll never be able to top that era.
3rd rock from the sun might be the most underrated show from the 90s. They still hold up today.
What was remarkable about Third Rock from the Sun was that the idea of aliens sent to Earth undercover is very old and cliche, and yet the writers constantly found original and unexpected takes on the concept.
Definitely
I loved that show. Very underrated
💯

3rd rock was such a creative written show
the 90's was such a golden age of television.
Of EVERYTHING LOL

It was peak America…society was evolving in the right way and pre-internetization….until 9-11 happened, which changed the entire course of America.
Larisa Oleynik was such a dream! She starred in both Alex Mack AND 3rd Rock From The Sun.
Absolutely, Thanks for sharing
Still low-key crushing on her.
10 things I hate about you. ❤
3rd Rock was one of my absolute favorite shows of the time. It was absurd, but absolutely well-written and hilarious.
The first season is shockingly sharp. Very willing to be adult.
Everyone had a crush on Larisa Oleynik if you were a teen boy at least. I still think she is adorable.
I was surprised to see her in the Netflix series "The Healing Powers of Dude" thanks for sharing.
I know I sure did!
Same. Always a treat to see she is still acting and pops up in shows from time to time. Like in an episode of Law & Order SVU and a few episodes of Hawaii Five-0. I guess I will have to check out "The Healing Powers of Dude" now.
Haha! I just commented essentially the same exact thing.
My crush never went away and I think She looks better now than She ever did.
Alex Mack was the reason i got into music. I wanted to play sax like Ray. Now I'm a award winning music producer and composer thanks to Alex Mack.
That is awesome to hear! Thanks so much for dropping by!
The first four seasons of X-Files are about the best thing ever. The chemistry between Mulder and Scully has never, and will never, be matched ever again.
I can agree with all of that. They had a great ability to hook you into the story immediately.
So overrated
It should’ve ended after season 6 since that was when the Syndicate was brought down.
Erin Sun
And John Crichton had Great Chemistry
I liked until Mulder got obsessed with conspiracies. When it was dealing with supernatural cases it was good.
I loved 3rd rock from the sun, I was only 7 or 8 when it started but I watched it anyways. Also loved Alex Mack
