      No argument. But still...its hugely difficult to learn. Looks like patience, perserverence and being ok with failure are key. Hardest part looks like being on your knees, learning the wind. And if you're a long ways out on the water, and the wind suddenly dies, you're in for a long swim, right?

    I just learned last week. My tips for anyone: you’re gonna end up downwind so just let it happen. Let the wind take you and get some speed. Then use your rails to turn. Then get up on foil and letttteriptaterchip.
    Definitely helps having a friend to learn with to help carry gear.

    As the TH-cam algorithm introduced, I just looked down and suddenly the first picture caught my eye, so I looked up again and it was your video. Thanks to watching your video, it revolves in my heart as if it were wrapped around me with beautiful and good energy. I think I'm obsessed with the algorithm. The quality is good and the best. Thank you for the space-like algorithm that made it possible to watch good videos. Your video really touches my heart. Even if I watch it over and over again, it is your video that I want to watch over and over again. The scent of your video still lingers in the early morning cafe window where I'm watching your video, so I'm playing the guitar and playing harmonica like this. How much devotion and effort did you put into your heart so that I couldn't break my heart from seeing you immersed in such a wonderful and beautiful image? Even if we all leave without a trace as time goes by, I hope that your beautiful and precious video channel will never be forgotten and shine forever. How did your channel have such a wonderful talent that is full of strange charms unique to your videos? You have the ability to make the moment wonderful and attractive. I think your video is a good video and a talented person. I sincerely repay the praise and support filled with my sincerity with a small gift. I am amazed at the excellence of your skills and thank you for taking the time to warm my heart and make me feel at ease. Another day It's getting farther away and it's going to be night. Question: After I learn to handle my wing on my old windsurfing board what do you think if I were to use a wing board with just the mast initially without putting on the foils....baby steps. Slow learner, 70 year old. Thanks.

    • @DamienLeroyYouTube
      @DamienLeroyYouTube  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sam you can for sure, but I would though the foil on and go for it as it will be similar to your windsurfing board. You might as well go for it then with the foil on it. You got this friend.

    • @DamienLeroyYouTube
      @DamienLeroyYouTube  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      2000 is square centimeters in size. Back wing will be different sizes. The bigger the more stable and more drag. Smaller twitchier and less drag. Simple as I can make it.....

      @@DamienLeroyTH-cam Thanks Damien! We appreciate YOU! Hey quick question though: Curious how many degrees upwind can an average/new foiler expect to be able to make tacking upwind when starting out vs when you're pretty experienced?

    • @DamienLeroyYouTube
      @DamienLeroyYouTube  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ColoradoMikeC Thats a tough question! The foil really helps make angles amazing going into the wind vs a wakeboard or twin tip. A new foiler will struggle to stay up wind at first as they are falling so much, IE getting blown down wind as they try to stand up and go again. If you are new and up on foil for a steady amount of time its easy to gain ground and go up wind as its a foil. Angle into the wind I am not 100% sure but it can be incredible for sure.... Sorry not a ton of help there....

    • @DamienLeroyYouTube
      @DamienLeroyYouTube  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Volume is always helpful when learning but length can be a disadvantage because you have too long of a water line which makes the board sticky when you try to get up on foil. So a 160L board at 6 feet will perform a whole lot better than a 160 at 10 feet. Thank you for watching and we wish you well on your next sessions coming up!

    • @DamienLeroyYouTube

      Max for sure you can wing in a lake. You are looking for 15 to 20mph if you can get it on the lower side. A good size in light winds is a 6 meter wing. Board depending on size but this video will help you th-cam.com/video/Ob_LBP45pZ8/w-d-xo.html

    We have 5-30 mph winds and choppy water. Gorge. It's very challenging compared to some videos with consistent winds and smoother water??????? I can see that wing and board pumping is everything. Gotta get on the foil ASAP! I've talked to other old windsurfers and they're not even going to try.

    • @DamienLeroyYouTube
      @DamienLeroyYouTube  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Friend, I would always go bigger as winds are usually lighter than windier, 6m. Also easier to to learn in lighter winds and less crazy, than cranking windy and waves. If your location is on the lighter side on average go 6m if its on the 25+ on average go 5m.
