I honestly don't see why such exploits should be patched out. Its a singleplayer game and its something the player themselves has to consciously perform for it to have any real impact, so whats the problem? It just give the player more flexibility when playing the game, hell I am the type of person who might intentionally include a glitch like this specifically to allow the player the option of doing cheesy shit.

Kind of like if I wand a nude big tittied girl on Skyrim running around in Whiterun. I can put in a bunch of extra work outside of downloading a simple mod, or just not give a damn.

Another great way to make money early on is to do the quest "The Long Tomorrow" in Edgewater. In it, a "sick" man named Martin Abernathy asks you to steal some medicine for him from the marauder infested community centre. As soon as you're done talking to him, a woman by the name of Esther Blaine asks you to give the medicine to her instead, saying that Abernathy is a hypochondriac, meaning that his illness is all in his head. *minor spoiler in the next sentence* In reality, the "plague" that's befouled Edgewater is actually just malnutrition. *minor spoiler has passed* She wants the medicine so she can give it to people who ACTUALLY need it, which if you read the spoiler, you know is technically no one. However, I still like to think that getting the medicine and giving it to Esther Blaine is the best option with the highest likelihood of helping people down the road in a hypothetical scenario. She also says she can pay you more because she's payed better than Abernathy. Anyway, there are 3 main options regarding who you give the medicine to after you've acquired it: 1. You can give it to Martin Abernathy, the original quest giver. 2. You can give it to Esther Blaine. 3. Or you can give it to Constable Reyes, as the medicine is technically illegal. This is because Edgewater is a town run by the Spacers Choice company, while the medicine is a product of a different company altogether, Auntie-Cleo. The trick is, that you can give it to all 3 people and collect 3 rewards. The key is that you have to be able to successfully steal the medicine back from at least 2 of the people by pickpocketing them. Personally, I like to turn it in to Constable Reyes for a reward, then steal it back and give it to Martin Abernathy. Once he's given me my reward, I steal it back from him (because he doesn't really need it) and give it to Esther Blaine for yet another reward. Also, here's a quick breakdown of the potential rewards: 1. Constable Reyes gives 500 bits. 2. Martin Abernathy gives 500 bits, but can be persuaded or intimidated to give an additional 300 bits. 3. And finally, Esther Blaine gives a base of 700 bits, and can also be persuaded or intimidated to give an additional 300 bits. If you steal it back twice and get all 3 rewards, you will get a minimum of 1700 bits. If you get all 3 rewards PLUS both the bonus rewards, you'll walk away with a total of 2300 bits. I hope this has been helpful to someone, and sorry for the wall of text!

Get science 100 and you get -90% tinkering cost. Also save your bits for the Mk2/Uktra/Gold variants of weapons. They're the second stage of weapon upgrades and that combined with the 90% reduction of tinkering costs means you can make an entire arsenal of weapons and armor for your followers that only costs a few thousand bits total not including the cost of buying items, if you don't happen to find them.
It seems like the best way of handling exploits is to wait until the game is no longer updated to share them. They likely won't get patched this way and you kinda have to go out of your way for these anyway so it probably wouldn't happen much by accident.
I noticed the lack of replayability, but I really like the story and the character interaction. Seems way better than Fallout, which was less of a story and felt more like raw mechanics of interacting with npc. Definitely was satisfying, I am waiting for a mod or dlc for it.

This is also doable on Supernova mode but it is a lot more time consuming because of the save and quick travel limitations. You drop stuff in Edgewater then quick travel to landing site and run back to Edgewater. Because you can only save on your ship and cannot drop items on your ship, the quick save trick does not work in Supernova. Also, while you're duping might as well double up on mag picks and shunts.

Yep, doesn't work anymore. I am going start over and use the first perk on companion XP bonus. Seems to have the greatest benefit.
