I got my 9400 at a local gun shop, benchmade dealer, for $180 today. I couldn’t pass it up for that. After watching this, I do agree that the 940 is almost as fast to deploy and to flick close. That’s what I like about the 940 is how fast I can close it. Edit: I’m still carrying my 940 for now
Just received the stain one, by far my favorite blade now! This thing is incredible. It's already in battle for pocket space against my Leatherman sidekick. Also ridiculous that they don't engrave their logo on all there clips!
The Parkerized logo deep carry clip is probably my favorite Benchmade clip. The 940 was my gateway drug to knives which is why I have a collection of 940s. I sold my 9400 but now really want to grab another one 😀
My Benchmade Stryker auto was issued to me in 2002 or 2003. I’ve carried it since. It continues to work perfectly. The blade holds a good edge. Bottom line. Benchmade makes a product your kid can inherit.
Welcome! I did end up selling my Invictus and I gave away the 9400 in a giveaway on my channel. I did end up getting a mediator and I have a comparison of the 9400 and the mediator already on the channel. That being said I do plan on acquiring another 9400 in the future. I also regret selling my Invictus and will probably get another one of those down the road as well. I have owned all three and am happy to answer any questions you have about them.
@@davidvermont I’ve actually owned both the protech Invictus and the PDW Invictus (the terravantium one). I just recorded a review on the latter. I’ll post it tonight. I have also already posted a Protech Invictus review. What I liked the most about the Protech was the action. It hit hard and was so smooth to close that it was the first automatic I enjoyed as having a fidget factor (most automatics aren’t fidgety due to the spring, but this one has just the right amount of tension and heft of the blade as well as a good size for it). What I liked least was the behind the edge thickness. It is thicker than many EDC knives you may be used to.
I've been waiting for a review of the 9400. I do agree with what you said about the Mediator. I personally would rather have the Mediator. I like the texture/look of the G10 scales better on the Mediator. Great review video once again Triple E.
I'm sooo tempted🤔 Just received my GORGEOUS Blue/Bronze Blade & Hardware L.U.D.T. and the Bronze & the Blue ano is even better looking in person!💯🤷♂️🤙🏼💪🏼☝🏼🇺🇲 I Just can't see myself picking up one of these until I grab myself another 940-1... I'm in NEED of another 940-1 STAT!!! I miss my 940-1 So, soooo bad😟 GREAT STUFF Buddy!!!
When they come out with the first production knifes do they ship each knife store some. For example if I purchase a mini freek online this weekend will I receive a first production?
It would have been interesting for sure to have the button lock on a manual 940. I am not sure I agree on the front flipper, but it would be unique and interesting!
Plus: no thumbscrew offers a bit more actual slicing room. Minus: being an auto means it’s basically a two handed closer unless you have an an exceptionally developed index finger for fidget closing. I’ll keep to 940-2 and it’s flick friendly axis lock and go with my mini reflex when the auto knife itch needs to be scratched. Good thoughts on the new auto!
Thanks! I’ve actually gotten the one-handed close down and like it good but more than initially but I still have a hunch I will like the Mediator better for the price.
i think i would have liked this much better if they made the axis lock as the auto button..just like the Rift i think that would be a seller for me for sure
I bought it because it’s the new hotness. I think I prefer the manual, but it’s still cool for a 940 collector like me (even though I don’t have a ton of them)
I agree that this closes slower and that it’s a little redundant, but other knives like the Socom elite and heretic wraith and martyr have manual and auto versions, so I can’t fault them too much for it. Where I have an issue is the price since the Mediator gives you S90V for around the same or even less depending on where you buy.
I love how tucked away the lock is, Benchmade did a great job keeping the classic 940 style.
Yeah. I’m impressed they were able to fit the springs and everything into such a slim package.
I like the way they did it to it is but maybe they can make it a little bit longer to catch a little more of your thumb

Yea I like the axis lock better on the 940 because you can flick it open and closed with one hand.
Very cool nice job for Benchmade to keep it true to the original might have to add it to the collection in the future great review

Man I can’t get passed the 943 to really care for the 9400 could you imagine that clip point blade on a 9400!?! 🤔🔥🔥
Very cool, thanks for sharing! I'm definitely going to be picking one of those up.
Dang, if I could have 1 Auto, this would be it! Nice first impressions, seems they did a really good job converting the 940 to an auto.
Yeah. I’m surprised they could pack the auto into such a slim frame.

My pre-order from Knife Works hasn't shipped as of yet. I have the Mediator and love it, great handle and size.
I can’t wait to get my hands on a Mediator and do a comparison.
Picking mine up this Thursday
Real nice having a 940 auto
Whoa...managed to get an early look at this one! Gonna be an instant classic!!
Yeah! I am so pumped I could check it out early!
I would love to see that three Way comparison. New subscriber.

What did you like most and least about the Invictus? Appreciate your responses

I am ordering a Mediator. I will do a comparison when it gets here
That is definitely one I would like to get someday
I would love to get this knife, but I've got to have that fidget factor.
Very cool knife wouldn't mind having one 👍
I'm sooo tempted🤔

The 940-1 is great! If you have a LUDT (and it sounds like you have an amazing one), then you don’t need the 9400.
I believe they stopped numbering their first production knives
Correct, they stopped with the mini freek.
When they come out with the first production knifes do they ship each knife store some. For example if I purchase a mini freek online this weekend will I receive a first production?
That’s definitely disappointing. I do like serializing. It makes you feel like you’re a part of something exclusive.
You should receive a first production ok then super mini Freek since they have not done a second run yet.
A front flipper with manual button lock would have been pretty cool.

Where did you get it from? Most places are all pre order.
I can’t say. I got early access.
I like the idea of a 940 auto looks good is there any blade play
No play. Rock solid
Thanks thats good to hear
@@TripleEEDC rock solid at first, but over time, blade stopper begins to loosen
FULLY AUTOMATIC ASSAULT KNIFE
I wouldn’t call it an assault knife. More of an EDC tool. We knife TH-camrs have to steer clear associating knives with weapons.
@@TripleEEDC it was a play on the classic calling of ar15's assault weapons, i often forget you cant hear sarcasm over the internet
@@SCP--dt2hf well now I feel like an ass 😂🤷♂️. It’s funny once I understand it though
I may have missed you mention it, but does the auto feel lighter in the hand or is it pretty much a negligible difference?
I didn’t notice much of a difference to be honest.
Good presentation. Like it , but sticking with the conventional models. Thanks for sharing.👍👊
I like the manuals too!
I really want a 943 Auto with a deep carry clip
That would be amazing!
i think i would have liked this much better if they made the axis lock as the auto button..just like the Rift i think that would be a seller for me for sure
My question is as a gun collector with many guns. Why would you fidget with a knife it’s completely asinine it’s a knife not a matchbox
It can be fun when the knife is well built and the action is smooth. Kind of like a safer version of people who flip balisongs/butterfly knives.
Thank you I'll stick to the original for now
Can’t go wrong with the original
I agree, can’t go wrong with the regular 940. Some may even prefer the manual.
Going from an axis lock to automatic is completely counter intuitive. Doesn’t matter, though... people will buy this because it’s the new hotness.
I bought it because it’s the new hotness. I think I prefer the manual, but it’s still cool for a 940 collector like me (even though I don’t have a ton of them)
Making the 940 auto is not needed. The axis locks opens just as fast and now one handed closing is no longer one handed closing.

Uughh dam commiefornia 😡
Lol. Yeah their knife laws are ridiculous.
