Great review and comparison of such an iconic knife. I think it’s really cool that Benchmade branched out and did this. The 940 bar none is such a great knife. In my eyes it’s like a Buck 110, pm2 etc. Thanks for sharing this one.

I saw that and went to grab it but was already sold out but yeah, sounded like there would definitely be more in January at least. Really like that it’s a new and different material though.

I have a 940-2. While I wanna like it, I find the blade too thick for my daily use. I ain't cleaning hooves and prying paint cans all day. I require a much more slicey kinda knife for my daily driver. I have a BM Mediator that I love, it's one of my fav autos I own.

Hi Carrie a 9400 Every day but I absolutely hate the pocket clip
Have you thought about swapping it for a Lynch clip to see if that works better for you? I carry the 940 more but I usually just pocket drop it. Thanks for taking a look!
I understand the pocket drop most of the time that’s all I ever really do to be honest with you.

It is weird that CA laws are very misinterpreted. We can buy sell and collect. Can't carry anything over 2 inches but yes very different than what everyone thinks.
Yeah, really strange. Hopefully knife rights is able to make some progress on our weird knife laws.

Do they make a longer version?
Not currently, they do have a shorter version but that one isn’t automatic.

I believe it was called Omaha Knives but the owner passed away and they are no longer in business unfortunately.

One your skin color, two, my experiences with being caught with illegal weapons, was not that big of a deal, and they let me keep it. Which was an extendable batton, in the bay area. You'll be fine as long as your not commiting a crime with the knife 😉🙌
Haha for TH-cam’s ad suitability I can’t recommend any illegal activity but from my experience you’re right. I was stopped with a butterfly knife about 15 years ago, they confiscated it but that was it.
