Korean Flight Archery: 60lb Freddie vs Daylite

- Which is the best Korean Traditional Bow? This is a question that requires a lot of testing so we gotta start somewhere. The test will be a 60lb Black Shadow by Freddie Archery and a 60lb Majesty by Daylite Archery. Both are 53 inches long and very similar shape. There are plenty of other Korean bows I can test if you are interested.
I am at a horseback archery school at Horses of the Sun in Ontario, Canada.
With Uwe, an experienced horseback archery instructor, we will do some testing with chronographs and flight archery shooting with heavy arrows of 65 grams (1000 grain), due to the limits of the farm we cannot use light arrows.
I will review each bow individually as well, freddie's black shadow, and two Daylite Majesty bows of 100lb@30" and 60lb@31"

Due to the range, we are unable to test with light arrows at the moment. Bowmaking vids coming btw
thats the heaviest korean bow i know
@@andkonblack apparently there was a 300 lb korean bow but i never had a chance to see it
Hmm sir, from your personal opinion, which one is more worthy (in terms of price and speed)? Black shadow or majesty? I'm a bit confused to choose which one.... Hope you can give some help and suggestion🙏...
asiatic bows need more attention. its all compound bows in my club
Bring these KTBs and use 6gpp arrows and make their jaws dropped. Guaranteed there will be new asiatic bow users in a few days after they see that those bows could do more than 250fps
When they see how much easier it is not deal with cams and trigger releases you may change minds.
Loving the horse in the background
Wow that’s long range for 1000 grain
Not really , They are getting Good Flight ,and the Bows they are Using are Flexing Through the Center , making it's Dynamic Energy Produced pound for pound faster with less wasted energy than other types of bows , I also believe he would have gotten a bit more distance with Ballistic Gelatin in the Arrow as it would absorb the Occillation of the Arrow faster putting more energy into the Flight and Not Wasted on Flexing while in flight
Looked like a fun day.
200 meters with 1000 grain, that's insane!! (16.6 gpp)
17 gpp whoa
Wish I was there
Jesus, black shadow is a beast!
not bad
awesome
Flight archery is an odd sport, a lot if the time, you have a bow aiming for a world record, and as such you have underweight arrows. My Kaya KTB needs 7 gpp, if I move to 8gpp, I'll cut off maybe 100 yards from the total distance.
i wish we can test with light arrows, but then it would shoot to the neighbours farm. hence we used 1000 grain
What arrows do you use
weights are listed in video, mostly likeboy 250 spine
Hi! A nice comparison, thanks. One question though: Did both of the bows have the same length? i.e. 53"ish...?
Yes both 53”
🔥🔥🔥
Oh I Seriously want to shoot with You guys, Heavy Weight 100# and Up Would Be A Blast , and Consider Ballistic Gelatin in your Arrows over Salt , I have used both for Safari Hunting and the Salt absorbed moisture over time and clumps when in flight , means Little at Hunting Distance of 20-40 yards but at shooting for distance could mean alot
same here where u at
Have you ever considered attending some flight shooting competitions? Maybe you can find one, depending on your location.
duhhh covid
@@fatboy8420 The 'Conquest Cup' in Istanbul was just last May...
Ik really lover it

great
Would have been interesting to see the performance of a similar draw weight Monarq included in that competition. I'm curious which you prefer Majesty or Monarq and why?
hey jack have u considered doing a comparison of 48 inch and 53 inch with speed test i would love to see u shoot 48 inch
Cześć, : )
Not sure how to interpret the jumping jacks of a person to tell me distances? Plus, I cannot even see his movements to interpret what he is communicating...
Did you test these on a scale? Is it possible the Black Shadow is just a little bit heavier to draw? The guy did say it was harder to pull.
cool
I would love to see a comparison of laminated manchu bow vs laminated korean bow. Also manchu bow is supposed to draw all the way back to the fullest so bad comparison
I agree that was just for fun in the video the yarha was just conveniently with us

This guy is huge
I have an old majesty composite
The Korean bow should be shot by walking the arrow outside. Looks like he's shooting the bow backwards.
I am left handed so flip
Not you, but I'm worried that the shooter might hurt his hand during the speed test.
Did you know if you keep the arrow moving before release it will go farther? Objects at rest want to stay at rest. Objects in motion want to stay in motion. So when you release pull a bit farther as you release. The strange thing is even if that motion is in the opposite direction it still makes the object easier to put into or increase motion.
Weird eh ? Do you ever try this ?
thanks i can try
@@HistoricalWeapons I get an extra 5-10 FPS

anyone getting dr swautch ads again
most archers only care about modern bows
You cannot get any more "Modern" than completely Carbon bows ....
Those are heavy
Nope they are Weaker than he can shoot , he's Good for 140# , I still believe I can significantly Higher Weights and More Accurately but , Hopefully we can show that
Weird shooting a Korean bow Hollywood style
Holly wood?
@@andkonblack ya 3 finger draw on wrong side of the bow.
@@joshskoflic8391 he is a kassai style horseback archer so this is his most consistent method to test. We strive for consistency with chronograph. It’s his chronograph so I prefer he shoots it
Uwe feels more comfortable shooting with med draw with 60lb than thumb. I’m not sure if I can pull 60lbs at his age
@@HistoricalWeapons I’ve just never seen that before with a horse bow. Usually when u can’t thumb draw u use Slavic.
