@@blazypika2 Yeah, it only took until the Anime Series was completely flanderized that he got the trophy. Give Red some credit, he didn't have to end up like this.
In order to gain the title of "Metapod Master" within Let's Go Pikachu/Let's Go Eevee, you need to have a Metapod. The Master will then send out a Metapod of their own... If you think this is bad, try the same steps to become a Ditto Master, only, using a Ditto, instead. Ditto can't transform into another of themselves, and even if they could... POST-RELEASE EDIT: It eventually came to light that with some Pokémon, you'd just need to show a specimen of a specific strength. This ranges to things such as legendary or mythical Pokémon (since them having these supposedly-very rare Pokémon would induce plotholes)... and Ditto. Metapod still has that battle, thought.

ChansChannel1 Ash fought Ethan (Gold's official name) in a cameo at the start of the 13th Pokemon movie, but only in the Japanese version. It would be weird for him to fight Red seeing as they're counterparts. Red doesn't exist in the anime because Ash sort of is Red.
Sarah Johnston Actually there has been an appearance of Red in the anime but only once during a film within the series itself. I remember the episode as a child where Ash and his mother were watching Red, Pikachu and Clefairy travel on a path. The 5th generation (B/W male protagonist) also made an appearance but as a flashback during a discussion with N (including other trainers within it.)
I know Ash is supposed to be Red in the anime but for goodness sake can we please get an Ash vs Red battle? Like, as the grand finale of the anime? That'd be awesome.
Hey, maybe he will improve in the Anime since: Z-Moves = Strong bond with Pokemon Ash + Pikachu = Incredibly Strong bond Pikachu = OP/Incredibly Strong Thusfor Z-Moves + Ash + Pikachu = Global domination Just quick math
You only forgot that Z-Moves can only be used once by each trainer throughout all the battle. So all that strat = 1 KO at max. Also, remember Tobias, from Sinnoh? Dude had a Darkrai that took the entirety of Ash's team to defeat, and Pikachu v. Latios ended in a double KO. Now factor in that Red has at least Mewtwo and the legendary birds at his disposal. Let that sink in, and then rethink your "quick math".
Chim-Charred is a favorite episode since September 27 of the year 2013, since Sinnoh. Great Bowls of Fire is a favorite episode since August 30 2013 since Johto.

This is what I want, but instead Ash is Red (I mean because that's basically what he's based off in the Anime), so instead of fusing the anime and video game universe, why not just work with what we have? If there is every some time skip and there is a new protagonist (we got Gou now or the new baby from Alola), the new protagonist can face Ash/Red somewhere near the beginning of their journey as they climb up Mt.Silver. Honestly, it could be Gou since he's always in search of new Pokemon to catch. He meets Ash there and he doesn't speak because he no longer needs words to communicate to his Pokemon due to the deep bond, kinda like Ash-Greninja. He still talks to Gou obviously, but doesn't need to voice commands while battling. Battling someone that doesn't need to voice commands adds a layer of difficulty since you're gonna have a shorter amount of time to react and give your Pokemon a command. I do hope at some point Ash reaches that point where he does become the best for that reason and ends up at Mt.Silver because he's not sure where to go next. That, or he ends up failing to be the best and just completely isolates himself to become stronger. The result is him no longer talking in battles for that slight upper hand. Doesn't have to be Gou, but you get the idea. Probably one of the main points of the show would be to defeat Ash in that rematch to wake his senses? idk lol There's too many possibilities.
Red got just the original Kanto gym badges, only fought Team Rocket, and only has 6 pokemon. Ash has gotten every badge and fought every league, clashed with numerous rivals and villain teams, met every legendary, and has a small army.
I just barely scraped by with I created a team of Ash's Pokemon from the Johto region and I fought Red. His Pikachu beat mine with a Volt Tackle... ...But it was a totally intense battle! :D
Actually they did it. Insert FR/LG (or even R/S/E) cartridge into GBA slot on your DS and "Transfer Pokemon from FR/LG" option should come out in main menu. Then you must go to the PokePal park and just catch them. Hope I helped you!
I think Red in the final battle started in Yellow and only used pokemon given to him or were essential to the plot that were not legendary (Started with Pikachu, the 3 Kanto starters were given to him throughout his journey, Lapras was given to him from SilphCo, Caught Snorlax cause it blocked his path, and for those playing the original GSC, Eevee was given to him at Celadon Mansion and her raised it at night to get Umbreon)
Red: ....! Ash: hey you look like me but alot with the red jacket and cap Red....? Ash: let's Battle let's do this I know I'm gonna win go Dragonite!!! Red:.....!!!! *Sends out Charizard*
@bitrel07 Ash lost to Tobias but that was because Tobias used legendary pokemon while Ash used non-legendary pokemon making Ash have the disadvantage in that battle. Fourth reason why you don't make sense, Ash didn't use cheats to capture all the starters since he didn't have all the starters.
Yes, yes it did. It was epic, and fitting since the trainers and Pokemon are both from Kanto anyway and this is the final confrontation we all wanted to see, the only thing better would've been if they met in the final match instead of the Best 16 (Round of 16 is the real-life name as per the Olympics and World Cup), but as Charizard (then Paul, then Alain) proved, Gary wasn't all that powerful after all because he rotated his pokemon way too much, even his Blastoise was underpowered compared to other aces.
Ash Ketchum is based on Red's first design. They also both have Pikachu, and both have the three Kanto Starters, however Red's are fully evolved where as Ash's Bulbasaur and Squirtle are unevolved and his Charmander evolved fully into Charizard. Ash and Red have both won a championship.
No need, you see... Gold is the protagonist of Gold and Silver games, male protagonist of Crystal and male hero in the remakes, the player assumes Gold's role and challenges Red, coming out on top.
If only they had an episode where Ash faced a grown up badass version of himself from the future on the top of Mount Silver. Then a more epic version of this theme will be playing
In my opinion, when Gen 4 was released. Now the anime is consisted of Ash going through the towns solving pretty small squabbles and the flashy backgrounds used during "action packed" scenes.

He may not be the "best" trainer ever, but he's always determined during battle. And of course, Ash certainly has a good heart. He cares about all Pokemon, and he'll do anything to save them. Ash is my hero!! :)
@MatKoReN Well yea so it should be, but they made the anime slightly different... Blue is becomes the champion of the elite 4, and thereafter gets defeated by Red, where in the anime they both loses before they meet the elite 4 XD. But reds starter is charmander, and not pikachu, which is also what they made different in the anime... So yea ash is red, and blue is gary, just a little changed in the anime
Type-advantages show brains before battle, that's Red's style in battle but that also proves the fact that he couldn't afford to try using pokemon that were at disadvantages in battle. Ash used pokemon who had disadvantages and won a numerous amount of battles that way. Heracross against Magmar, Charizard against Golem and Blastoise; Pikachu against Onix, Geodude and Golem then Latios; Oshawott against Pansage; and Krokorok against Beartic. All of these Ash won, tied one battle which he lost.
