There's so much potential for an entire series with episodes ranging from 20 to 40 minutes. The comics, origin stories, cinematic trailers, and these anime shorts prove how much the game's lore has to offer.

Me too. I don't care about the game related issues like nerfs or buffs or anything like that stuff. For years, I always been more focused on the story of the franchises itself from it's historical events to the characters in their parts.
Ramattra's introduction and interactions with Pharah now make seven times more sense than before, I assume Ram is unique because the dreadlocks he has do not seem to be something any ravager just has.

The beginning scene is so beautiful imo. The mechanical heartbeat, the soundtrack, Auroras curiosity, it all adds to the theme of life and birth. I know it’s a meme for everyone to express their displeasure towards anything Overwatch related, but I personally am really looking forward to seeing the rest of this mini series.
I'm honestly in tears. THIS!!!!! This is the Stuff ive been waiting for with overwatch. Only 6 minutes and there was so much incredible amazing things to see and imagine.
Its an incredibly over done trope, being presented in a particularly bland fashion as a documentary. At least its pushing the story forward though. It's no Arcane.

I still remember tearing up at the original “We Are Overwatch” trailer back when I was in high school. I know it’s goofy but something about it just hit me right in the feels. Even watching this tugs at that feeling, and I haven’t played Overwatch in multiple years now. The fact that this can evoke such an emotional reaction makes it even more heartbreaking just how far the game and Blizzard has fallen.
Man, the second half gave me so much nostalgia and made me actually hype when i realized who im looking at, with reaper and soldier. They are still able to make good shorts, the lore is still there but still there is a pinch of regret that, it might be too little too late
If there was a campaign then maybe it wouldn’t have been too little too late. But this piecemeal idea they going to do is just damaging. Cutting us die hard fans at the knees. I’ve had ow since day 1! Ibought 2 copies 1for pc and 1 for PlayStation. Spent loads on loot boxes until I found out there was no cross save. Then crosssave comes, so I think I will be more than happy to spend money on the game, because surely there will be a fully fledged campaign. I would have bought a whole campaign but little piecemeal bits bundled with the battle pass feels like a slap to the face. I would’ve spent AAA prices for the campaign, but now all I’m going to do is watch someone else play the mission due to the mission being so short, compared to being a AAA title

That's true, however, it's 'expanded' backwards. This is telling us still how the Omnic Crisis started. Instead, we should know what's actually going on 'right now', what _are_ the ongoing events. I hope they do expand on that. For now of course it makes sense they start from the beginning (obviously) but it's not like we didn't know that there was an Omnic war, it was made particularly clear with the Bastion CGI Short and the Reinhardt CGI Short many years ago.

But I remember a time when Liao was considered the 6th member of overwatch and we had no idea who that was yet. We didn't even know she was a woman. Glad they are finally illustrating that, especially since Echo was hyped up to be this big character.

You can see the hints of a larger story that's always been hovering beneath the surface of this game, trying to break out. This is an expression of that, and it's lovely to see, at long last.
The sad thing is, if the right team and company were in charge of this game with it's original vision, it would have been amazing. Blizzard still has many talented and bright writers and developers, but they're incredibly suppressed by leadership, which just sucks.
This is what got me hooken on overwatch: The cinematics, the storytelling, the characters. I actually got back into gaming, bought me a console and after a few years a pc bc of overwatch. I still love it so much even though there were and still are a lot of things that let the community down. But I still enjoy this game and especially their cinematics ♡
If this would’ve come out 3-4 years ago we’d have a thriving game. Insane how amazing this is yet it just sat there in someone’s mind waiting to be created while overwatch slowly moved to life support. I remember the talks of a show when the game first came out, imagine how different things could’ve been if blizzard put love into overwatch.
This is exciting - but when are you bringing Overwatch to Mac? Does Apple's game porting toolkit make a port easier to develop now? I'm very happy that you added FSR 2.2. Y'know, something that I think is underutilized is the concept that Omnics were hijacked for Anubis' goals. Imagine how traumatizing it must be to look back on your memories and remember years upon years of violence that your body committed with no control over it. Honestly, Omnics probably have as much PTSD from the crisis as humans do.

Being a once hardcore turned casual Overwatch fan, everything came rushing back and I was overwhelmed with emotion when the Overwatch theme started and I felt the same excitement and passion back when the game was at it's best. I want to love this franchise so so bad but the executives have made that nearly impossible. Contrary to popular belief, I think there's still opportunity for these characters to get the love they deserve.
Seems like it's just one short being released incrementally, which makes the individual ones a bit underwhelming. Hopefully there will be a full version once they finish the series.
I could not stress this enough. If only Overwatch receives LoL's Arcane treatment and be given an animated series instead of OW 2, the franchise could literally be resurrected and take off. Weekly episodes, synchronized with monthly PvE contents once in a while, Overwatch could have been a huge franchise. With a vast and colorful lore, a team of animators and writers who don't miss... we could have had it all. But no. They went with the decision of making OW 2. I always feel like OW 2 is a shower/before bed idea that one of the Blizzard/Activision higher ups/execs came up with and would force it to the OW developer team. The decision feels so, so, impulsive and reckless. This might have been the reason why Jeff left in the first place. I'm hurt that this franchise I have loved for 7 years fell off. But I am far more hurt and disappointed knowing that OW could have been the greatest franchise with so much potential, only to fail.

Most people are nice and just want to play.

I’ve played this game since 2017. I love it and the lore behind the characters and the universe. Im just happy to see them develop the story and the universe where it unfolds. Hope was lost years ago, now im just happy we get what we get

These new shorts are giving me chills. seriosly wel done to the teams on this. I sugges... and probably many others will too, that their should be a full on series... or hour long movies or antying that will expand on their stories. The story of the omnics and the world... I believe it will succeed greatly.. on TH-cam, Crunchyroll original, Hulu original, Netflix original... anywhere will succeed. The teams have done amazing work over the years for trailers of new heroes. I bet they would do amazing jobs like this if they were longer too
overwatch is my all time favorite game, I remember about 8 years ago watching the trailer and being amazed and so excited for the game to come out. When I first saw the trailer I thought it was gonna be a completely different game I thought it was going to be a story game kinda like gears of war it was way different and I love it so you could probably imagine how excited I was when I heard that that blizzard might be coming out with a story mode a bit later I lost my account and so I stopped playing for a bit I came back hoping to see story mode but not there was nothing I did some digging and I found out that you guys had scrapped the project (and I also found out that you changed the name of mc Cree for good reasons) I was devastated and now I’m here at the overwatch TH-cam channel begging like fool for you to retry story mode I know that your busy but it would make my year of you tried to make it again and it would make my century if it ends up becoming real sincerely: your biggest fan Connor :)

I get that this is shot in a documentary style for the sake of brevity, but if they just dud this same story but told through actual dialog would be so much better. Could have been a full-length series easily. This feels like a recap.

I would absolutely love to see a ‘personified physical’ version of Anubis which could have the ability to summon the null sector pve robots. Very cool design and amazing concept. It would be a crazy new take on the support role, providing additional manpower in a losing team fight.
Torb's ult should have a 2nd option of "Ultra Turret". Place one down. 2000 hp, fires lazers that explode on impact with anything, and self destructs in a medium range when destroyed lol
One thing I noticed and am glad was shown was despite Reyes (Reaper) being the original strike team leader, Morrison (76) was given far more camera time and highlight by comparison. It's actually true to the lore as Morrison would be the better poster boy to lead the bigger Overwatch organization much to Reyes dismay. The documentary is literally showing the first tiny cracks of the wedge that would lead to the organization's downfall.
the first one felt like a teaser teasing a trailer teasing a PVE demo.... just keep waiting guys... a small amount of years... content is coming, you can wait another 7 years, you are Overwatch fans xD

This is what the whole of the community has been saying for years! Overwatch has one of the most interesting characters and amazing stories to tell. We've begged for this type of stuff and everytime we got close to it Blizzard would take it away from us.

the fanfare of overwatch after all the shooting and screaming was so good, it made me feel so hopeful and I teared up a lot because of it
I still remember tearing up at the original “We Are Overwatch” trailer back when I was in high school. I know it’s goofy but something about it just hit me right in the feels. Even watching this tugs at that feeling, and I haven’t played Overwatch in multiple years now. The fact that this can evoke such an emotional reaction makes it even more heartbreaking just how far the game and Blizzard has fallen.

Auroras story placing the omnics in the Shambali and explaining the monk sorta stuff is really cool. It makes a lot of sense.
Man, the second half gave me so much nostalgia and made me actually hype when i realized who im looking at, with reaper and soldier. They are still able to make good shorts, the lore is still there but still there is a pinch of regret that, it might be too little too late

If there was a campaign then maybe it wouldn’t have been too little too late. But this piecemeal idea they going to do is just damaging. Cutting us die hard fans at the knees. I’ve had ow since day 1! Ibought 2 copies 1for pc and 1 for PlayStation. Spent loads on loot boxes until I found out there was no cross save. Then crosssave comes, so I think I will be more than happy to spend money on the game, because surely there will be a fully fledged campaign. I would have bought a whole campaign but little piecemeal bits bundled with the battle pass feels like a slap to the face. I would’ve spent AAA prices for the campaign, but now all I’m going to do is watch someone else play the mission due to the mission being so short, compared to being a AAA title
Even if it's only for brief moments with kinda so-so animation, its still really cool to finally see moments like Gabriel and Jack fighting side by side or Ana using hor original ballistic sniper rifle

That's true, however, it's 'expanded' backwards. This is telling us still how the Omnic Crisis started. Instead, we should know what's actually going on 'right now', what _are_ the ongoing events. I hope they do expand on that. For now of course it makes sense they start from the beginning (obviously) but it's not like we didn't know that there was an Omnic war, it was made particularly clear with the Bastion CGI Short and the Reinhardt CGI Short many years ago.

But I remember a time when Liao was considered the 6th member of overwatch and we had no idea who that was yet. We didn't even know she was a woman. Glad they are finally illustrating that, especially since Echo was hyped up to be this big character.
@@lyrand6408pls use ur brain. These are more little backstory videos to prepare us for Season 6 which has multiple CURRENT story missions with cinematics that move the lore forward. It’s a build up.

You can see the hints of a larger story that's always been hovering beneath the surface of this game, trying to break out. This is an expression of that, and it's lovely to see, at long last.
The sad thing is, if the right team and company were in charge of this game with it's original vision, it would have been amazing. Blizzard still has many talented and bright writers and developers, but they're incredibly suppressed by leadership, which just sucks.

This is what got me hooken on overwatch: The cinematics, the storytelling, the characters.
I actually got back into gaming, bought me a console and after a few years a pc bc of overwatch. I still love it so much even though there were and still are a lot of things that let the community down. But I still enjoy this game and especially their cinematics ♡
The CHILLS I got when the familiar faces appeared. Especially Reaper and Soldier
When Rein shows up with the music I got goosebumps

If this would’ve come out 3-4 years ago we’d have a thriving game. Insane how amazing this is yet it just sat there in someone’s mind waiting to be created while overwatch slowly moved to life support. I remember the talks of a show when the game first came out, imagine how different things could’ve been if blizzard put love into overwatch.

Y'know, something that I think is underutilized is the concept that Omnics were hijacked for Anubis' goals. Imagine how traumatizing it must be to look back on your memories and remember years upon years of violence that your body committed with no control over it. Honestly, Omnics probably have as much PTSD from the crisis as humans do.

Being a once hardcore turned casual Overwatch fan, everything came rushing back and I was overwhelmed with emotion when the Overwatch theme started and I felt the same excitement and passion back when the game was at it's best. I want to love this franchise so so bad but the executives have made that nearly impossible. Contrary to popular belief, I think there's still opportunity for these characters to get the love they deserve.

I could not stress this enough. If only Overwatch receives LoL's Arcane treatment and be given an animated series instead of OW 2, the franchise could literally be resurrected and take off.
Weekly episodes, synchronized with monthly PvE contents once in a while, Overwatch could have been a huge franchise. With a vast and colorful lore, a team of animators and writers who don't miss... we could have had it all.
But no. They went with the decision of making OW 2. I always feel like OW 2 is a shower/before bed idea that one of the Blizzard/Activision higher ups/execs came up with and would force it to the OW developer team. The decision feels so, so, impulsive and reckless. This might have been the reason why Jeff left in the first place.
I'm hurt that this franchise I have loved for 7 years fell off. But I am far more hurt and disappointed knowing that OW could have been the greatest franchise with so much potential, only to fail.

You can make your own clan if you only like just playing with your people. The more likely situation is you don't have anybody to play with that you like, it is a team based game after all but that is only something you can control. Team based shooters are going to get the adrenalin going and you need to understand that not everybody is reacts to pressure or processes emotions like you. Most people are nice and just want to play.

Maybe they should throw the games overboard für now, and concentrate on making a whole lot more out of the Story. The lore has so much potential. And maybe there will be even enough space for something like an Single Player game that covers everyones origin Story episodic, like telltale games.

I’ve played this game since 2017. I love it and the lore behind the characters and the universe. Im just happy to see them develop the story and the universe where it unfolds. Hope was lost years ago, now im just happy we get what we get

I sugges... and probably many others will too, that their should be a full on series... or hour long movies or antying that will expand on their stories. The story of the omnics and the world... I believe it will succeed greatly.. on TH-cam, Crunchyroll original, Hulu original, Netflix original... anywhere will succeed.

overwatch is my all time favorite game, I remember about 8 years ago watching the trailer and being amazed and so excited for the game to come out. When I first saw the trailer I thought it was gonna be a completely different game I thought it was going to be a story game kinda like gears of war it was way different and I love it so you could probably imagine how excited I was when I heard that that blizzard might be coming out with a story mode a bit later I lost my account and so I stopped playing for a bit I came back hoping to see story mode but not there was nothing I did some digging and I found out that you guys had scrapped the project (and I also found out that you changed the name of mc Cree for good reasons) I was devastated and now I’m here at the overwatch TH-cam channel begging like fool for you to retry story mode I know that your busy but it would make my year of you tried to make it again and it would make my century if it ends up becoming real

this miniseries is beyond fantastic, the lore and animation are so strong!! i wish the same level of passion would be put into the game too. stuff like this showcases how much potential this franchise still has
Needs to be a full series. Season 1 Start with Liao's recruitment into Omnica and end with the results of the Aurora trial.
I get that this is shot in a documentary style for the sake of brevity, but if they just dud this same story but told through actual dialog would be so much better.

I would absolutely love to see a ‘personified physical’ version of Anubis which could have the ability to summon the null sector pve robots. Very cool design and amazing concept. It would be a crazy new take on the support role, providing additional manpower in a losing team fight.

Torb's ult should have a 2nd option of "Ultra Turret". Place one down. 2000 hp, fires lazers that explode on impact with anything, and self destructs in a medium range when destroyed lol
One thing I noticed and am glad was shown was despite Reyes (Reaper) being the original strike team leader, Morrison (76) was given far more camera time and highlight by comparison.
It's actually true to the lore as Morrison would be the better poster boy to lead the bigger Overwatch organization much to Reyes dismay. The documentary is literally showing the first tiny cracks of the wedge that would lead to the organization's downfall.

This is what the whole of the community has been saying for years! Overwatch has one of the most interesting characters and amazing stories to tell. We've begged for this type of stuff and everytime we got close to it Blizzard would take it away from us.
