- only two people have played shin megami tensei nine and lived to tell the tale, and i am not one of them. this game killed me but in such a way that i was forced to haunt the earth and document the weird animations in it.

Honestly, SMT Nine made most of the demons actually feel like partners, and these animations are so charming

Several of the walking/running animations are gems! Baal's run is an unexpected moment of silliness coming from a usually imposing enemy in the series. Thank you for sharing.
Crazy that this 22 year old game has more unique animation than current smt games. Hope this game get an translation patch, Marsh did an great video and so did this to help bring attention to 9

wish they would use or rework some of these animations for a future mainline SMT
I mean SMT Nine and Nocturne have different set of animations and different game engines.
Honestly, they seriously need to rework many of the animations of the current set that originally were from Persona 5. A lot of them appear very rough, jittery and clumsy. This in contrast with those from Royal and V that were more well animated.
Look into IMAGINE. It has a similar cast and just about every demon has a ton of charm and work put into their animations that you don't really see even in the modern games.

I've always had a slight fascination with NINE and how little there was floating out there about it until Marsh shed a spotlight on it. Fantastic video that just makes we want to check out the game even more.
Oh man, such a crime that not a single one of these were reused. Remind me of Pokemon Stadium's animations, so annoying but full of personality.

This reminds me of the animations of the first two Pokémon Stadium games in just about every aspect...
Animal monsters behave like animals and weird monsters pull out cool twists you wouldn't expect from their more modern animations.
For example, Decarabia's "shell" reminds me of Jynx' faint animation: two completely unexpected but cool and welcome behaviours that enhance the monsters' designs.

Hey thanks for this video, i wanted to play NINE for a loooong time, it's nice to see videos about SMT NINE,very few people talk about this game (tho there are reasons...such as being somewhat hard to emulate, being an OG XBOX exclusive game and Japanese-only. Hope Atlus brig this game again or some fans do something idk)

Seeing how much effort was put in these animations only for the game to do badly and barely being playable these days is so sad

where in the world did you get the full version of the true neutral battle theme? ive looked all over youtube for the full versions of the music but i cant find them
In the OST the track is called "Shin Megami Tensei NINE Concept Music", it consists of 17 seconds of the SMT1 opening theme and the rest is the true neutral battle theme.
@@IspywithmylittlePSI are there any other full versions of the other eight battle themes?
@@Rimalogo the OST release doesn't have Light Law and Neutral Chaos, the other 7 are there
