- The movie story is about J.K. a Hotel manager. One day he gallantly comes to the rescue of a politician's drunk daughter, Aarti. Aarti falls in love with J.K. and both get married in a small ceremony. After few years, the married couple face many differences due to which they decide to separate. Years later, J.K. and Aarti meet again when she is an established politician. Despite the separation, both of them feel the closeness but fearing that her name might be tarnished and jeopardise her career, Aarti does not want to step forward.

बेहतरीन फिल्म है 45 साल पहले देखा था पुरानी याद ताजी होगी।सजीव कुमार और सुचित्रा सेन की जोड़ी लाजवाब है दोनों महान कला कार की जितनी तारीफ की जाए कम होगी।गुलजार जी का निर्देशन,कहानी गीत संवाद इस फिल्म में चार चांद लगा दिया है। वैसे तो बाकी भी अभिनेता मजे हुए कलाकार है अपने रोल बहुत ही अच्छे तरीके से किए है।
आज की फ़िल्मों से इन लाजवाब फिल्मों की तुलना करना ही अपने में एक बेइज्जती है। और अब तो संजीव कुमार हमारे फेवरेट एक्टर्स में से एक हो गए।

लॉकडाउन में पुराने क्लासिक की मूवी जिनको कहते हैं जिनके हिट गाने हम बचपन से सुनते आए हैं उनको देखने का बड़ा मन हुआ पता नहीं कितने सारी फिल्में मैंने मीना कुमारी कि जिसे कहते थे इससे सुनना इतनी अच्छी एक्टिंग कोई नहीं कर सकता लेकिन उसकी कोई फिल्म ऐसी नहीं थी जिसको मैंने स्पीड बढ़ाकर या काट काट कर ना देखा हूं क्योंकि वह बर्दाश्त करनी थोड़ी मुश्किल हो रही थी, आज यह गाना सामने आया तो सोचा फिल्मी देख ले, और अब 2:44 पर मैं एक कमेंट कर रही हूं तब तक मैं स्क्रीन से ही नहीं पाई इस तरह से बांध लेती है यह मूवी

Sanjeev Kumar Ji, undoubtedly one of the greatest artist of all time in Bollywood. Suchitra Sen Ji had done only few movies in Bollywood but her look, her voice & her dialogue delivery everything is mesmerizing...
This was the 10th time I watched this movie.

As Hindustan Times once put it, It is a real tragedy that Madhubala died at a young age of 36 because of a hole in her heart, while Hari bhai too died rather young, aged 47, due to a massive heart attack. In my opinion Sanjeev Kumar sir is the greatest and most versatile Bollywood actor ever. He is better than Amitab Bachchan when it comes to acting skills. I know Amitab Bachchan is more popular and influential actor and many people would disagree with me on this but when i am saying this , it is just my opinion. Other people may have some different opinion than me and i respect their opinion.

Today's film makers must learn from this how to make a masterpiece without any valgourity,not a single offensive dialogue,no six pack abs and body exposure... Once this movie (A Masterpiece) was coming on Television but being a child I left it in between and went to play. Today I realise that no matter how hard I had tried to understand at that time this movie but couldn't have felt it the way I can now as a grown up.

This movie was sooo ahead of its time. A woman's ambition is just as important as a man's. This message is conveyed so well. I love Aarti's character...gentle, soft spoken yet soo strong! Hats off!
End of the day the most important asset of a Women is her kids and family being the backbone of every family. Without a mother there is no home!!

No you wrongly seen the movie i have seen it 5 times. Its her regret now that she comes under influence of her father to join politics and lost her good husband who always supported her but she thought that he is jealous of her. But after meeting him she realises how her husband was gold at heart and it was her mistake. But still her husband understands that and supports her without showing any angst. That is the beautiful part of it.

Sanjeev Kumar is the best actor in Hindi. I have been watching this movie in TH-cam for the past 2 weeks almost thrice daily. I enjoy every scene that he comes, particularly the last sccene when he appears on the stage and just utters her name. Wow , what anexpression in the face, a wealth of emotions in that utterance. Real emotions. Hunh. What a joke.
I have watched this and Mausam a thousand odd times. Not once I felt like a tear to drop in this movie while in Mausam I sobbed badly at the end. You see some gender difference might be there. 😌😌😌

Bahot achchi film banayi hai. Suchitra Sen and Sanjeev Kumar ji both are great celebrities. Sanjeev Kumar ji ne romantic, comic roles bahot nibhaye hai magar serious role me woh puri tarah se picture me chha jate hai woh udasi, mayusi, jeevan ke utar chadav dikhana bahot khoob. Dono ki acting is matuared aur natural lagati hai. Gulzar sahab ke geet meaningful hote hai aur unka ' Tere bina zindagi se koi shikava to nahin ' aankho men pani lata hai. Es tarah ki filme bahot kam banati hai.
