Because the vios is literally CHEAPER to own and maintain in the long run.
675k for a base vios and the emgrand priced at 748k and 858k? Lol. Funny pricing. This will be like the almera and city. They will be able to sell but they wont take market share from the vios.
Pity because they actually can grab the market share of vios. Just price the emgrand near the base toyota vios.
675k for the comfort emgrand and 748k for the premium emgrand.
Then they release the emgrand manual variant at 600k. Heck all taxi companies will flock to it if the interior amenties are the same as the comfort.
That is how the pricing for subcompact sedan is done right.

DONT MATCH THE VIOS LINEUP PRICING. VIOS LAST ATLEAST A DECADE. Geely cars have to still prove that. Compete on price!

I admire the durability of the Vios and City, but the Emgrand is a compelling buy.
Just concerned w the very low ground clearance though..
Ground clearance is about the same lang as the other sub compacts so it shouldn’t be an issue. Thanks but the full review with driving hopefully very soon :)

We have 2 cars in our family a Vios and an EcoSport, for 2 yrs I've been trying to entice my dad to trade our vios for a coolray but he says he wants one small and one medium/big car. Now that Geely released the Emgrand in very very Very Wonderful price I think I got him to have a look at it on release day and wait a year to finish paying up for our vios 😅

The features are top class! It is a heavy puncher for its weight class! I could’ve waited for this to release but the state of the pandemic prompted me to buy the mg5. This top of the line variant is 30k cheaper than the mg5 alpha Great car indeed!

I have some questions:
1.) is the comfort 700k variant available in automatic transmission or only manual?
2.) does the comfort 700k variant have sunroof?
3.) whats the difference between the comfort and the premium? ♥️ please respond!!
1. Both are automatic
2 No sunroof
3. Not sure about the exact details but as of now, all I know is the lower trim has no leather seats, no sunroof and I think maybe smaller rims + most probably lacking the digital instrument cluster

what 700k? Its 723k for top of the line in China, and 798k lower-end here in PH. There is no 700k.

Thanks Kyle Long Car Reviews for jumping on this exciting new vehicle right away. Looking forward the the 25th or soon afterwards when you post a full review including driving impressions. If you get to drive long and far enough share fuel economy results or resonable predictions if possible for city and highway. With a non turbo, high powered motor I would think it will be pretty frugal on gas consumption. If you can also share exterior color choices also that would be terrific. And if it appears all color choices for exterior will have the blue and white interior...which I personally really like, butbif another two tone combo would be offered with certain exterior palates, that would be nice also

Kyle Liong Why arent they giving us the 2022 facelifted Emgrand, available in China? Can you ask someone from Geely? That is a BIG factor on purchasing this new Geely offering. We dont want to buy one and after 7 months you gonna offer a facelifted/updated model! Come on Geely Philippines, dont treat us like a 3rd world country! Oh wait, we are one. 💝
I think the new one is being marketed as a completely different nameplate called the Emgrand L
planning to get either the coolray comfort, raize g or this. but the fuel prices are making me think twice to even buy a vehicle

To think on its price compare to other brands on the same category! It’s way too far! So classy, now i’m confused which one to buy. The only prob i’m thinking that i’m might encounter is the parts of geely. Huhu.

Nahhh wheelbase is still shorter than an Altis so it should be fine. Torsion beams at the rear though
