Never ever, ever just drop or even let the caliper hang from the brake line! Mechanic wire or even a brake caliper hanger will prevent ruining the brake line. And sandpaper is a much better way to remove glazing from brake pads.

Zero lubrication anywhere. Apply thing coat to all touching points where pads sit in bracket then add thin coat of brake lube grease to the outer backs where they touch the caliper. Also if you s uff up rotors take pads out and lay on some 36-50 grit sand paper on flat surface and scuff the shine off the face then break them back in using normal braking . Don't do the jam the brakes hard to put some heat jn them as some people claim. Basically current pad tech,unless marked on boxes, are ceramic based.

There's been times were my "hanger" tool failed or I bumped it or whatever the case might be and even if the caliper falls it's okay. I have never had to replace brake line cause of that. I replaced my brakes not too long ago and Everytime I break, like literally 5 seconds before stopping and only when stoping literally 2-3 seconds brakes whistle. Like WTF? It quiet annoying because son says it doesn’t do it!

you can deglaze your brakes by getting on them hard from a high speed. Heat them up. you dont need to take everything apart to do that.
