Todays video is of a beautiful old late 1800`s symmetrical stone and iron farm villa. The stone is nothing like I have seen used as it resembles quartz. Abandoned it the 70`s it seems with some cool old items left behind including a classic old fridge and stove in the vintage lean to kitchen out the back. Sheds with old farm machines sitting around as well. This place would have been awesome to see when a working farm back in the day. Hope you enjoy, cheers for watching. Also check out these explorers below if you have not already :-)

The Roto-Baler was made by Allis Chalmers...and produced round hay or straw bales....it was towed behind a tractor and powered by its pto....you can see the long tube going from the front to the back of the unit.
It had tires and rims but were apparently removed from this unit.
    This model is around 1950....
It could produce bales in different sizes but needed to be stopped as it tied and dropped the bale.

The exterior stones are beautiful. Imagine that yellow jug with the lid to keep the flies out, full of fresh cream on the kitchen table. Oh, that refrigerator medallion had a big skinny "E" before "CONOMICE'. It was hidden behind a smudge or paint. A play on "economize" and "ice"?

Another old gem mate I’m amazed to see this is one old beauty that hasn’t got those darn pigeon’s through it. But give them time and they will find a way in. The wood oven was cool you know your ovens mate. Liked the old jug and the old fridge which would of been run on Kerosene. Nice old dunny to and once again cheers for the shoutouts mate.

First thing I noticed is no trees...and such a square bldg. One thing I never got around to asking, with all of the explores that I've watched, is why do people in the "olden days" have such high ceilings? But I love the simplicity here. I would love to be a squatter in this beautiful old house. One more question - Aren't pigeons and doves the same things, different colors? 🐦😺. Thanks again for the video, from Mukilteo, WA, and I will check out the other explore channels. My job is waiting for other people and if they don't show up...TH-cam here I come!😺

I am also enjoying watching the rural explorers. That first machine was an Allis Chalmers small round baler, and the second was a grain drill for planting. Hello Paul. What another treasures. A least filming in winter you don't have to watch out for snakes. The fridge would they have to put the large ice blocks in the top because it looked to large for a freezer? That piece of machinery you said was a plow, well there were cups across which I thought was the back, could it also been used as planting machine? Thanks again for sharing with us.

An old mate of mine was a oilfield geological consultant in Australia on a year contract, I can still recall how he went on about how interesting it was there. Surprising how well the internals are considering the age. But deterioration of the externals to the elements will, unfortunately, eventually claim this lonely building. Just an idea.....All stobie poles have a code attached, either as a plate or stenciled, that indicate the month and year of manufacture, and occasionally installation. ( The stobie pole in your images has stenciled). This can be used as an indicator of when power was originally connected. Another great explore Paul.👍👍

Watching from Toronto, Canada, I keep thinking that those tall ceilings would make for great heat loss over here - which is exactly why they're so high in Australia. It's fascinating to see the architecture, and rather sad to think of the super-human effort that went into building that beautiful home.

    Bonjour d’Occitanie (France)

Hi Paul. Been enjoying the farm houses. I love ones like this that are still quite intact for the most part and you can still see decor and colour on the walls. I love when they have old stuff especially stuff with dates. I find all that very interesting. Can I ask a strange question that’s unrelated to the video or Urbex? 😂 Is it cold in Australia or your part of Australia in Winter? I am in the U.K. it’s obviously summer, but it is wet and cold! June was great but July has been terrible! So I just wondered what your winters are like 😂 Every week I watch your videos and I think “I wonder what the weather is like in Australia” 😂 Obviously I’m very interested in your videos as well. I look forward to them every week. I’ve never seen so many interesting old homes. The music in the intro really suits the theme, especially these old, old homes

This explorer is in rural South Australia. It looks like North of Adelaide. Winter is slightly colder than a British summer.

@@robertmurray8763 thank you. We are having an awful July. June was nice and all we did was complain about the heat. Now it’s freezing. Not literally but it’s cold. And wet.

@@robertmurray8763 I know it’s not exact but I googled the temperature where I am. 13c. I then googled the temperature in Adelaide. 13c. Unbelievable 😂

@@stephaniemcquillan1930 I'm from Adelaide, and a 13C max here is considered 'freezing' for a Winter's day! Usually at this time of year we would have max 15 to 18C approx. It usually warms a little from September, and October can even have a few hot days, but not always. Summer of course gets really hot (can get above 40C).

@@mtilford What amazes me is that the snakes seem to go to ground and nobody worries about them in your very mild winter. The adder, which is the only venomous snake found in some parts of the UK is up and about now that it has 'warmed' up here. It would be understandable in the parts of Australia that get snow (a distant relative lived in such a place and said that everyone thinks Oz doesn't get snow), but your snakes must be accustomed to the heat and don't like temperatures of 15 to 18c. Wondering if their food source (rats etc) also go to ground during your winter?

If you're ever over in the central west region of NSW, there's quite a few abandoned farms on the way over to Mudgee. Worth a look if you're interested. I know I'd have a look through them myself.
