Blue Diamond has recently been released and there are still lots of questions on how the benefits will work and some insights into benefits not listed on paper. What questions do you have for the new Blue Diamond Tier?
This is great, thank you! Brandon They didn't no much 2 weeks ago about BD. I am very close, hopefully BD by EOY. To your point, they should give you the browse & stream internet once you hit BD not just browse. Thanks!
@TheWeekendCruiser i have spoke with many customer service agents and yatch club agents and most of them have to text the voyager department to find the answer.
@@bodyloverz30 they only allow you to match up to Diamond. Blue Diamond needs to be earned in their program. I am lucky in that I had enough points to quality for Blue Diamond.
Thank you for sharing this info. I just submitted a RCCL tier match request yesterday and as you stated the specifics on each level is not an easy find.
It was only a matter of time before MSC added a new tier to this loyalty programme - far too many people used the old ‘status match’ programme, so it makes sense to create a higher tier to separate the true loyals. Great overview!
Thanks Fraser! Not sure how I feel about 6 levels but the good news with this change is they didn't take anything away from diamonds to make it happen. That's where other cruise lines are struggling to make decisions on their programs.
Brandon, I just got off the MSC Seashore. I didn't see anyone with a Blue Diamond card because they didn't have them yet to issue so I guess those passengers just got the diamond card instead. We are Diamond with MSC and I asked about the gift for Diamond at guest services and was told it would be in my cabin on the last day of the cruise. The gift never showed up! We did get our chilled Prosecco with champagne glass in our cabin plus the Macarons and Chocolate bar in the evening of the very last night of the cruise. Should have been given to us the 1st night of the cruise but oh well! Brought the bottle of Prosecco home instead! Lol! We did get cabin robes and slippers so that was nice. I forgot about the free photo and the pin. We did get the exclusive pillow selection. I'm glad they changed it from every 3 years to every 5 years to maintain the status level. Thanks for running through the details!
Good feedback! Yes, I imagine it will take a bit to roll out and get their fleet stocked. Excited to be on Seashore weekend after next to see what all they are or are not offering. Another video in the works!
Late checkout has always worked for us, but it's probably because we sail in Europe where they embark/disembark at every port. We often stay on the ship until 2pm and our drinks package works until then as well. It probably wouldn't work in the US because they embark/disembark at only one port, and customs wants everyone off the ship. Even on a B2B you have to get off then get back on again, not in Europe you don't.
It is not spelled out in the T&C but I see no reason why they cannot. If you show your Diamond or Blue Diamond status, they should just let you through. This will also very by the port attendant who is working the station.
I see they have taken away the meet and greet for Diamonds and transferred it to Blue Diamond. We have made BD and the best perks are free Wi-Fi (saving a hundred or so each), My choice dining (means we don't have to book Aurea now) YC check-in and entry to their check-in lounge.
I don't see why they would not! This is more up to the port agents who is checking people in. Just flash your Blue Diamond and they will wave everyone through.
hahah it is always time for a 7 day cruise but I settle for a 3 night cruise! If you add it up, I really do like 1.5 to 2 seven night cruises a month. Just spread out the love ;-)
Hey Brandon, if you’re status matched gold to get to diamond the blue diamond are you starting at zero when you cruise on MSC. My first cruise with them is in March, points wise am I starting at zero, this was confusing to me. Thanks
It is my understanding that to achieve Blue Diamond you cannot status match in. Even if you did status match to just "diamond", I believe you will still need to earn the 25,000 points to make it. This is something I hope they add more clarity too. I also don't feel like my points in the system are accurate because of the match...
@@TheWeekendCruiser I was status matched to Black Diamond before, they took away my status, even though I had gone Ycht Club and three cruises in three years. Their Genia headquarters is garbage.
@@TheWeekendCruiser It expired in three years, but they made a mistake in not crediting my cruises to my upgraded account, 3 cruises in 3 years, plus one being in Yacht Club. The Concierge on the Aromivillia, tried for a week, but Italy home office, never returned his email.
That is a great question, as a solo cruiser I have never had the opportunity to do this! I should start making more friends on the ship with this line! ;-)
Even more reason why they should have just given us the higher tier internet package lol Though, I will not mind paying $4 per day. Will also need to confirm that is fleet wide or if it is based on the dynamic pricing. More to come! I am on MSC weekend after next to test out the benefits!

It's not! You would think they would give you all the info upfront but it is very scattered! Glad you are able to match in before your next cruise!
The way I saved this video so fast! Met so many people had positive things to say about MSC, like just have realistic expectations for what you pay

Aww thank you and def appreciate that! This one was a bit longer but good details to share and love the new blue diamond benefits!
Great video. But why no mention of Casino play?
Thanks for a great video

MSC is the sneakiest company on earth. Truly Italian.
That is interesting, I have not seen more sneakiness on MSC than other Cruise lines. Do you have an example you can share?
Hey solo cruiser! Do you ever cruise on Holland America, and, if not, how come?
Hey Timothy!! Not yet but it is a popular request! I keep waiting for them to offer a solid weekend options! ;-)

That's def a shame! You think they could have figured out at some point how to credit you for at least one of those! That's def a poor experience.
Do you know if points are awarded at time of purchase or after the sailing? I’m 100 points away from diamond.
They are awarded 10 days after the cruise ends. You are almost there!
Do you know if you can still bring a non Diamond guest for free for the Specialty Dining for Diamond? I didn't see it listed.
