I think the reason Brendan distanced himself from Brian, is because Brendan was there for some of these attempted rapes and also did some of this stuff himself. It's been interesting to see to what extent these comedians are actually beholden to sponsors. Bryan and Brendan love telling us how edgy and uncensored they are but just look how hard they hit the wall this year. What a mess.
They could easily have been making $50k in sponsors per episode. Which is why I'm doubting that Schaub will leave Kast media/showtime to work with Callen. Even if they become one of the highest funded accounts on patreon, they won't be making what they made in sponsors from a few episodes of the tfatk. Porlshis and clown shoes aren't going to buy themselves.
As they got more popular, their wealth grew and so did their expenditure. Brendan's cars & clothes and Bryan's divorce definitely don't support the idea that their podcast alone will finance their changed lives, although Bryan's divorce is certainly not a 'choice'. Lifestyle creep, look into it.

I think there may possibly be a pretty clear reason why people are listening to these accusations. I think it has something to do with Whitney Cummings and the fact that she scrubbed callens appearances before all of this happened and from the story that she told. I think she and Brendan Shaub are still close and she is respected as a member of the comedy community and has been for quite some time. People in the industry know her and so her viewpoint would hold more water than that of the other LA times accusers. I'm guessing this plays a big part and all of this.

Are you guys so worried you won’t be able to distinguish between facts and this guy’s thoughts on the matter? I don’t think he claims to just report facts. He’s extrapolating the things he knows about Brian in order to speculate.
If you don’t think the speculation is warranted, that’s one thing. But you are all acting like there’s something wrong with speculation. And I swear, it’s the same crowd that will cry about speculation when it comes to Callen, but endlessly speculate about the Clinton’s.
It’s okay to speculate as long as you know that’s what you’re doing. All these stories build a cohesive picture of Brian and are corroborated by his own words and admitted actions. The guy who made this video could have articulated this better instead of just saying “I could picture this.”
The reality is until people have the balls to tell their side of the story and stop denying everything, we have to speculate. Our speculations should be as fact-based as possible, but speculation is a large part of how we all think, and there’s nothing wrong with incorporating it into our public conversations about these issues.

Callen and Schaub's team works so hard to take these videos down. I remember a few years ago they flagged any video that mentioned anything negative about Schaub, even factual information about fights or opinions about his comedy being subpar.

As far as "due process" that applies to legal punishment. An agency or employer can absolutely terminate the their relationship with Bryan if they feel he will hurt their reputation and therefore their profits. That's the free market that the right worships...so it is ridiculous to apply the due process argument in a situation like this. Bryan's contracts with his employers almost certainly have clauses stating that harming the name of the company or agency is grounds for voiding the contract.

I liked the take about the contrast between the New York comedy scene and the comedy scene in California. On one of his podcasts, Andrew Schulz once said something along the lines that the LA comedy scene differed from New York in that it lacked a feeling of scarcity, didn’t feel as competitive and that comedians tried to help each other. After watching this video and seeing a stark contrast to Schulz’s depiction of the two comedy scenes, I wonder what he thinks of the LA comedy scene now with all thats happened to D’elia and Callen. Likely not too different as long as he’s still in the good graces of Rogan and Whitney...

I used to listen to tfatk as a 3rd or 4th wheel podcast when no new content was on the other ones. It was weird because although I liked a few episodes ( mostly with Tim Dillon of theo or some other funny guest) I found myself hating these guys. Mostly shaub but things about callen too. There was just a " you can tell these dudes are pieces of shit in real life" aspect about them....looks like spider sence was right.
Callen has always given me bad vibes, he projects a very negative energy. Must be tough when you pass puberty and don't get invited to the adrenochrome parties anymore.
