It's really sad how its blatantly obvious that he's someone desperate for friends and real connections but also misunderstands that friendships can't always be people telling you positive things 24/7 like your own personal hugbox. I found Quinton through TH-cam, and I really enjoyed his videos, at least mostly the more video essay type ones. They were long and I could really get into them. I didn’t even know he had controversy until I happened to see a video mentioning him. To be honest, from the videos I could sort of see this pretty clearly, and it’s sad, and kinda of embarrassing (on his end anyways). It’s clear he struggles a lot, especially with mental illness. But I found myself enjoying him mentioning stuff like trans people and ableism in iCarly and I felt like a creator was finally talking about stuff I was interested in (I have ADHD and am apart of LGBTQ+) But then I saw a beginning of one of his videos, I don’t know if you’ve seen it in full (or if it’s mentioned here I can barely focus on this video rn), but he goes on a long talk about how he bought a ticket to Disney land and when he visited California, none of his friends wanted to hang out with him and he felt really upset and he got burnt out and depressed. It was sad, and sort of surreal. I appreciate this comment especially for recognizing this. I honestly don’t completely believe that Quinton is a terrible person. Has he mad mistakes, been over pushy, and done negative things before? Yes. But, I think he, like everyone has a chance to change. I’m Pretty sure he’s literally only 24 (may be wrong, but that’s what he said and that’s what Google says so). He’s still pretty young. I think he has a chance to turn around anyways. I'm admittedly a fan of Quinton's content. I liked his garfield doc, his essays about pawn stars, history channel, etc. I always thought it was kinda weird how his channel's growth really stagnated in 2020/2021. Now I know why.

His growth stagnated exactly for the reasons you said. His videos are about eclectic subjects nobody really cares about and they're too long. 8 hours about iCarly, 5 and a half hours about Victorious, an hour of History Channel content. Who cares? I'm sure there are people care to watch his critiques of a show made for preteens but his fanbase was built on movie reviews of unknown bad movies or modern TH-cam drama insight. Now he just makes overly long videos on these weird niche subjects.

It's pretty clear to me that he idolized Channel Awesome growing up. Like, he totally bought into the idea that they were all friends making videos together and he desperately wanted to be a part of that. He talks about how crushed he was when all the "change the channel" stuff came out and i just thought, "um, why are you depressed about this? It's just a bunch of early-internet weirdos." He became a TH-camr to join a group like that. He saw some Instagram pic of a couple "breadtubers" at Disneyland together and thought that was the new friend group. He's trying so hard to be part of something that never really existed. These people aren't really friends, and there is no in-group.
Most famous friend groups/troupes on TH-cam, or at least so I've noticed, typically started *outside* of TH-cam. For example, Markiplier and his group. I don't think Quinton understands that.

Just a small tip: you could try making the ppl farthest in the background the lightest color, and moving forward in planes make things darker and more refined, since judging by the details, saturation and contrast in the quinton character u have a very nice build up for an atmospheric perspective.

The hardest thing about mental illness is that if you're not acting like you have a mental illness 24/7, people don't take it seriously, you feel pressured to not be normal so that people are sympathetic to your needs (not necessarily pitying you, but, like, understanding that you can't control yourself during manic episodes, for instance, and not holding it against you. Being accepting of your 'ill' side because they like being around your 'normal' side if you get what I'm saying). It's more that he's not really a lolcow. At best, cringey at points and a bit pretentious with the lonely boy act, but his behaviour isn't at a point where it's much more outrageous or egregious compared to most people (especially TH-camrs). The Lindsay/Sarah DMs are pretty damn close, but even then it's not quite Movie Bob level or a large enough pattern of problematic behaviour as of yet. Hell they're the real princes of pity) I'm a little bothered that Beige Factory seems to keep bringing up how he switched political views and dropped his right wing friends (who seem like edgy assholes per the video) in the video. It's really sad how its blatantly obvious that he's someone desperate for friends and real connections but also misunderstands that friendships can't always be people telling you positive things 24/7 like your own personal hugbox.
My guess is he never really had many close friends to begin with and when he hit some level of internet fame he wanted to use it to grow his social circle, but him not understanding how to handle negative criticism, he just as quickly burned those bridges until he is surrounded by people that fit his definition of "friends" (people who kiss his ass).
I found Quinton through TH-cam, and I really enjoyed his videos, at least mostly the more video essay type ones. They were long and I could really get into them.
I didn’t even know he had controversy until I happened to see a video mentioning him.
To be honest, from the videos I could sort of see this pretty clearly, and it’s sad, and kinda of embarrassing (on his end anyways). It’s clear he struggles a lot, especially with mental illness. But I found myself enjoying him mentioning stuff like trans people and ableism in iCarly and I felt like a creator was finally talking about stuff I was interested in (I have ADHD and am apart of LGBTQ+)
But then I saw a beginning of one of his videos, I don’t know if you’ve seen it in full (or if it’s mentioned here I can barely focus on this video rn), but he goes on a long talk about how he bought a ticket to Disney land and when he visited California, none of his friends wanted to hang out with him and he felt really upset and he got burnt out and depressed. It was sad, and sort of surreal. I appreciate this comment especially for recognizing this. I honestly don’t completely believe that Quinton is a terrible person. I'm admittedly a fan of Quinton's content. I liked his garfield doc, his essays about pawn stars, history channel, etc. I always thought it was kinda weird how his channel's growth really stagnated in 2020/2021. Now I know why.

His videos are about eclectic subjects nobody really cares about and they're too long. 8 hours about iCarly, 5 and a half hours about Victorious, an hour of History Channel content. Who cares? I'm sure there are people care to watch his critiques of a show made for preteens but his fanbase was built on movie reviews of unknown bad movies or modern TH-cam drama insight. Now he just makes overly long videos on these weird niche subjects.

It's pretty clear to me that he idolized Channel Awesome growing up. Like, he totally bought into the idea that they were all friends making videos together and he desperately wanted to be a part of that. He talks about how crushed he was when all the "change the channel" stuff came out and i just thought, "um, why are you depressed about this? It's just a bunch of early-internet weirdos."
He became a TH-camr to join a group like that. He saw some Instagram pic of a couple "breadtubers" at Disneyland together and thought that was the new friend group. He's trying so hard to be part of something that never really existed. These people aren't really friends, and there is no in-group.

Just a small tip: you could try making the ppl farthest in the background the lightest color, and moving forward in planes make things darker and more refined, since judging by the details, saturation and contrast in the quinton character u have a very nice build up for an atmospheric perspective.

The hardest thing about mental illness is that if you're not acting like you have a mental illness 24/7, people don't take it seriously, you feel pressured to not be normal so that people are sympathetic to your needs (not necessarily pitying you, but, like, understanding that you can't control yourself during manic episodes, for instance, and not holding it against you. Being accepting of your 'ill' side because they like being around your 'normal' side if you get what I'm saying).

I've watched this a few times, and looked at Quentin's social media and... I just get the feeling he's lonely as fuck and looking for somewhere that accepts him. The skeptic community provided that, until it didn't. Same with the "breadtube" thing. Yeah obviously he's responsible for himself but he's not cruel or malicious. Makes me kinda sad.

as a huge quinton fan, i loved this video. i think it was a great criticism and it summed up every issue i have with him as well. however, i still love the content and find a great comfort in it so i'm probably not gonna stop watching.

It's more that he's not really a lolcow. At best, cringey at points and a bit pretentious with the lonely boy act, but his behaviour isn't at a point where it's much more outrageous or egregious compared to most people (especially TH-camrs). The Lindsay/Sarah DMs are pretty damn close, but even then it's not quite Movie Bob level or a large enough pattern of problematic behaviour as of yet. It's a bit sad, but as far as it's been shown, not obsessive or malicious (see: onision, Chris Chan. Hell they're the real princes of pity)
I'm a little bothered that Beige Factory seems to keep bringing up how he switched political views and dropped his right wing friends (who seem like edgy assholes per the video) in the video. While it's annoying to hear anyone constantly bitch about political stuff on Social media, I don't see the problem with him dropping those people. It comes off as BF REEEEing about "lefties" and "sjws" rather than critiquing things Quinton has personally done even if that's not the intention.
To me Quinton just comes off as a guy who needs to step off of social media for a bit and make some local, real life friends. He sounds more lonely, a bit juvenile, and bored more than anything else, and having more of a irl social life would more than likely take care of that since he doesn't seem unhinged as a person.

I also think it's an important point to bring up because as time has gone on, Quinton has kept changing his story about why his politics shifted so much

That's correct. It was used an example of how there's no real Quinton. There's just this empty husk that gets filled with whatever is cool at the moment until it's not anymore. Then that Quinton cocoons and goes through metamorphosis until the new and improved Quinton emerges. The only thing that's consistent about Quinton is his eternal pity party and self esteem issues, every other facet of him is totally malleable and can (and will) change.
As a former fan, it's been both truly disappointing and utterly fascinating to watch Quinton slowly melt into this laughable puddle of self-pity brought upon himself by actions he refuses to take accountability for. Sweet painting and good video, Beige. Also, congratulations on the growth of your channel in recent months.
Also Quinton really should go back to short hair and stubble. It was genuinely a great look on him
