just so everyone knows, it’s not about how great your stats are but really about who you are as a person and your personal experiences. i just got accepted into First Year Engineering with only a 4.09 GPA and a 1060 SAT. i also took AP chem, apush, and apes and only got threes on them. i’m number 5 in my class, am class president, treasurer of national honor society, captain of my soccer, football, and track team, and that’s about it. however, i also grew up in the foster care system and that’s what shaped me to become the person i am today and setbacks shouldn’t determine who you are and how you’re represented. just know that colleges don’t just care about your statistics but really what kind of person you are.
My son got rejected today from Purdue for mechanical engineering. He had a 1480 SAT (790 in math), 11 AP classes (AP Scholar w/Distinction) 4.63 weighted GPA, honor society, played varsity sports, did several engineering related extra curriculars including an intro to engineering class at a public university and was involved in our university’s EPICS and robotics programs. So for anyone who didn’t make it in, just know it was Purdue’s loss.
I opened mine up not knowing this and got in! Got in to the honors college and got the presidential scholarship. Majoring in Mechanical engineering, but we go into a general engineering and decide later I guess. I had 22 APs (no scores reported), top of class with a 4.434 and 3.94 unweighted, 1510 superscore (790 math) kinda low compared to my practice tests as on my second attempt(not reported) there was a disruption for 15 minutes and the proctor essentially did nothing. I think reading stuff here, it is important to say how far the essays go, I for example spent months making them perfect for Purdue and highlighting different attributes. Definitely in this cycle I think that was probably the most important bit, like there are kids that are on paper better, but with the holistic thing essays are king.
@AustinTarnawsky It would be in the letter, at least scholarships. In my letter, the Honors college acceptance was the second paragraph and I got told that i received the presidential scholarship in the third paragraph. If you are talking fasfa, I would call.
Got rejected with 33 ACT, 4.4 weighted GPA and 3.9 unweighted, as well as 8 APs (5s on everything except APUSH). My AP English teacher told me that the essays were pretty much perfect as well. I was so sure I am going to get in, I guess my life is over now huh. (Applied for Aerospace)
No! Your life is just beginning! Rejection hurts, but it's up to you whether you let it knock you down or whether you harness it to make you stronger. Choose the latter! And maybe add a couple more safety colleges that are still accepting applications to your list. Good luck.
Just confirming, but they tell you if you got a merit scholarship in your decisions letter right? Are there any other merit scholarship options besides the University-Wide scholarships? I got into FYE but I can’t afford to go and probably won’t get any money from their financial aid office. I’m out of state.
Yes it would be in the second or third paragraph of the acceptance letter. As far as other scholarships, I have been on the website and there are none for engineering.
I have applied for Spring 2025 intaka in MS Horticulture but they did no review my application because they tell to me they will not receive my application untill a faculty member sponsoring me. Now they are asking Decision in End of January 2025 also i have not yet secure a faculty member. Note Im a international applicant from India. Is my application is called Earlier action application?
Interesting fact. Purdue has had record enrollment year over year since 2018. This growth has resulted in a housing shortage that has escalated to the point where not only on campus housing is unable to accommodate students, but so are the surrounding non university apartment market. Sophomores and upper classmen are routinely not able to secure housing. The administration there, facing an ugly and public revolt from the student body, has recently said they will have to admit less students moving forward but even that would take time to reduce the impact of the problem. They are currently using a lottery system for all returning students seeking housing. If you lose the lottery, you are on your own. Entering freshmen also enter the lottery around Oct od their Freshman year if they hope to secure housing during their Sophomore year. 😮
Got into Indianapolis campus Electrical Engineering. Did not realize that there was such a difference in the two campuses. Is this offer worth accepting?
Because not all of them who got admitted actually enroll. Since 50% got in and the total application was about 78k, only 11k/39k which is about 28% of accepted students enrolled

Interesting. I got accepted with a 1300 sat 6 ap classes and a 3.8 weighted lol, i had some decent ecs though thats all.
@ are you in state? We are out of state. Plus I know engineering has an even lower acceptance rate than the school overall.
@ I am not in state. and yes it's most likely just that school- but still pretty crazy. i'm going into prefinance
Dat sucks I got in w 900 SAT 2.5 GPA weighted and 0 ECS…
@@zlxghtninq6600 Which specific Purdue faculty did you apply to though?

I just got into the honors college as well. How would I see if I received any financial aid without paying to accept my offer?

I mean it’s like the best in the nation for engineering dude. Best of luck with the rest.
I got accepted, and I am really excited
Got deferred for CS
Really awaiting this admission decision from Purdue University
Good luck & best wishes 👍👍
Thank you 🙏
Uhhh I have been accepted into Purdue University-Indianapolis
Please make a video on what happened with the UT EA applicants today 🙏
it seems like all the decisions are delayed to release, freaking weird
Deferred until February 14th. It seems that they received more than 20K applications than they had anticipated.

Could we expect Fall 2025 Grad admission decisions who applied before Dec 1st 2024
Thanks
Waiting for that
Great
Which course
Got into Indianapolis campus Electrical Engineering. Did not realize that there was such a difference in the two campuses. Is this offer worth accepting?
got in for physics
where did you find the data for early action mentioned at the beginning of the video?
I know people.
Can you please do a video on University of St Andrews in Scotland?
Got accepted for CS Indianapolis Campus. Please, is there much difference between the two Campuses?
There is MUCH difference between the two campuses. I encourage you to do your research to learn about what makes each distinct. Good luck.
Okay. Thank you 🙏
Is it possible for regular decision student
It's early action. RD comes later
how is 11000 divided by 60000, 50% admit rate ?
Because not all of them who got admitted actually enroll.
Since 50% got in and the total application was about 78k, only 11k/39k which is about 28% of accepted students enrolled
Got in for CS OOS ama
