I just learned I have been deferred from Pomona college, where I applied Early Decision 1. Is it possible to change my application to now be Early Decision 2 or must I continue as a Regular Decision applicant?

If Pomona didn't mention that as an option in its deferral notification, it's unlikely possible, but call Pomona to clarify. Good luck.
