Being a US Comp science MS graduated working professional for many years, one does not get hired based on the U. S. college you are graduating. Get good knowledge, training in India which is very affordable and some paid/unpaid Internships. These internships shows your future employer the practical experience you have. Get a U. S degree in any STEM areas and do well in challenging projects. First job is always difficult to get whether you are citizen or international student. Good luck. India has the best education and training programs!!🙏🏼
I spent 2 years at University of Kentucky, then transferred to USC. My experience at USC was a culture shock, because the staff and my fellow students were much less friendly. Lots of snobs at USC. For graduate school I returned to he University of Kentucky.
Johns Hopkins (Baltimore), Washington U. St Louis, U.Chicago (Hyde Park), etc have been in unsafe areas for decades. However some of these colleges have taken aggressive steps to keep their students safe at least in and around the campus area.
Those 3 particular universities are also excellent enough to make the trade-off against crime worth considering, unlike the 3 examples mentioned in the video.
@ I wouldn’t trade anything for personal safety so it was only after assuring ourselves of the safety protocols in place at JHU, WUSTL, and UChicago did we send kids there. Of the 3, I think UChicago is the most diligent about safety with their “UChicago Safe”, RideSmart, and UGo shuttle programs plus they have one of the largest police departments in the U.S. and their PD is armed and equipped to arrest perpetrators over quite a large area that includes public neighbourhoods bordering the campus.
The Harvards and Princetons of course have high price tags. But they have huge endowments, which can support student aid. Even middle class students get major financial aid.
This video has a lot of inaccurate information. Being depressed after graduation has nothing to do with the school you went to and a lot of other schools that are less prestigious charge the same fees for out of state or international students as top US schools. A lot of schools offer scholarships and grants so the price quoted is not accurate either. The level of attention students get depends of the school size. If you want a lot of 1:1 attention apply to a small school which will most likely be located in a remote location with not much to do on campus and few internship opportunities. The level of experience and job landed also depends on the person. If you do a research of alumni networks from different schools you’ll notice that a lot of successful people did not come from a prestigious school. The fact that your client was unhappy at the University of Maryland doesn’t mean that the program is not worth applying. Every state requires a green card, EAD or H1B to be employed, period. All schools in US follow the same 3 year STEM program after graduation, so that part is misinformation. The job market for IT jobs is bad because of AI not the state or the school. Every urban school has a higher risk on campus, and the number of crime incidents on campus also depends on school size. You can’t compare OSUs 60 k campus to a small school of 2k in a rural area. It’s crime per capita not crime rate in general. The worst part of this video is the narrative “please reconsider …please don’t go” 😂. Very biased and pushy. Highly recommend to read students’ feedback and follow alumni networks on Linkedin and TH-cam. Get in touch with students that attend the school you are interested in through Linkedin or social media. Listening to “pretend experts” will get you nowhere.
I wonder if the neighborhood where U.of Illinois at Chicago is any more dangerous than the surroundings of IIT ( Illinois Institute of Technology ) about which I heard negative comments as being very unsafe ., .some fifty years ago (in the late sixties (and no , I 'm almost sure it wasn't mafia related !!) . I wouldn't expect it to be less safe for students now .
You missed to tell the main reason why people apply to ASU - That being a state university 100% tuition reimbursement is promised if you get a TA position over there. But seeing the sheer size of intake even that seems impossible
The unasked question is: how woke and intolerant are the students and faculty? When I hear of an Ivy League school, I think Far Left, woke and intensely anti-Semitic, which are enormous negatives in the workplace.
Agree that some universities are treating international masters students as a source of cash and have reduced the quality and difficulty levels of education in USA. This happened in Canada and led to the creation of degreed Indian students who could not get jobs

Mu granddaughter has been studying at University of Michigan. Ann Abor for 3 1/2 years without being exposed to crime. This not unsafe campus. This video does not explain where her information comes from. Without that this is just opinion on all of her remarks.
If you are personable and attend a school like Harvard, you will meet people that are connected to deep power structures in the US. This is possible in Annapolis, West Point, Air Force Academy, as well (if you see the military as your future). To a certain extent, it is not what you know, it's who you know PLUS what you know.
What is missing is th personal social support options and programs an institute of higher education may offer. For instance, is the university's Foreign Student Program more engaged with their students than just seeing that their paper wok is in order for them to stay in the country and at the campus? How many other foreign students of people in the community nearby can you comfortably associate with, get some native food or beverages, have a weekend meeting, speak your home country's language? I have seen a lot of students not complete a year's programs for a degree, because there was no human social support system (s) in place. If you want to take into consideration what did occurring in Europe right now and foreign refugees, workers, or even tourists , it should become obvious that there needs to be some rethinking in the way programs help foreigners or not.
Well thought-out video. Thanks so much. I would add that there is a substantial difference between some of these unsafe areas. California, New York, and Illinois are all soft-on-crime states; there are almost certainly even more crimes than reported simply because everyone knows that criminals are just released back into society. There's no point in reporting. Atlanta is a different question. Georgia generally takes crime seriously, so the statistics actually reflect reality in the city. However, Georgia Tech's campus security is well-known; it's an island of security in the city. Furthermore, outside Atlanta, especially since the Laken Riley incident, campuses in the Southeast take safety seriously.
Graduated Stony Brook a long time ago - back when it was called the "Bridge to Nowhere" for the half completed bridge that extended from the Student Union - rumor had it construction was halted because it was heading straight for the women's room at the library.
Please create new videos on must-apply/ good ROI universities for the 2025 intake, including multiple courses for freshers, and job-friendly programs, especially for 12+ months (including internships).
The methodology isn't very clear aside from the inference of anecdotally based information. There are many national universities that are potentially far more dangerous ie Illinois Institute of Technology and Tulane are but two examples. As far as ROI, the cost of college in the U.S. is on average ridiculously expensive. I don't know anything about the universities in India but it might be wise to study for an undergraduate degree in India and come to the US for graduate school.
There are plenty of good "mid-major" regional universities as well. You just have to do your homework to see if they have well-regarded programs in your specialty area. And when you do attend, you have to make sure to avail yourself of the resources to get the most positive educational experience. They are usually in smaller towns where the cost of living is lower, which is a bonus unless you can't stand a few years of "boring" small-town life. These mid-major universities have seen their enrollment drop in the last decade, so they are probably more disposed to accepting new international students. At the most famous flagship universities, you are less likely to get personalized help from professors as they are already overwhelmed by the number of international students.

Avoid unsafe colleges/universities - very good advice. Check campus crime reports and city police reports and what safety measures are taken by the university👍 Another criterion for selection is to select a college campus that is not too large. Many do not have a car, and few have or use bikes. Walking across large campus and from student housing usually outside campus can be taxing. Quality of studies can decline due to being physically tired going around campus. Avoid extremely large campuses, If you can or be physically be fit. Pick up colleges that have a good diverse mix of students. For most, pick an above average public university over private univ for good program, affordability, safety, and good value. I agree with you @VirenSinha. If you are choosing to study in the US with an intent of working and settling there - these days it is well next to impossible, at least imho. So my advice to my Indian brothers and sisters are to either go with a sponsered Ph.D program where you are not out of pocket - or do Masters in India and choose the H-1B route. Mam i just got 60% in my class 12th then can i able to study my bachelors in usa as an international student. Is it possible or not to study with just 60%
Fordham isn't a bad school for finance, despite being in practically the same neighborhood as NYU, Columbia and being in a market where it has to compete against the likes of UPenn, Princeton, Columbia, NYU for finance jobs, it still ranks in the top 30 for IB feeders.
IB feeder schools are only good if one is going for undergraduate. International students going for postgraduation thinking they'll land analyst positions are going to be extremely disappointed; that's also why many suggest MBA to land an associate role, if one is lucky! I personally, started off thinking it's easy and then inside information has made me realize that it's not worth it. Plus, for An1 they won't even bother hiring someone requiring a work sponsorship and anyone above 22/23 years of age.
For CS etc, I think its co-op program does add value but yes it is getting over populated too and if it gets into USC more on over admitting, it might also end up badly on placement situation.

Any UK UNIVERSITIES?
How about Washington University for stem? Jobs and safety wise?
Plus, for An1 they won't even bother hiring someone requiring a work sponsorship and anyone above 22/23 years of age.
lmao i applied in swe at asu because thats what i wanted to study and not comp sci, am i cooked
hey, mind helping with MS AI colleges? thanks :)
How about northeastern university Boston?
For CS etc, I think its co-op program does add value but yes it is getting over populated too and if it gets into USC more on over admitting, it might also end up badly on placement situation.
I've got into NEU Boston for MSCS for fall 2025. Could u pls share your thoughts on NEU Boston MSCS in a seperate video?@@ScholarStrategyTV
