Cardio of any variety won't build muscle except your heart, unless you're very untrained.
Just make sure the sprints are longer that 7-9 seconds and shorter than 90 seconds because anything outside that range works on the ATP Creatine-Phosphate metabolic system (less than 9 seconds) and the aerobic system (longer than 90 seconds) rather than the anaerobic system.
Building work capacity translates regardless of what type of cardio you do it with.

Anaerobic endurance only exist with type 2A muscles fibers which r used during moderate/high cardio think 400 meters to 800 meters. Also cardio is great for blood pressure issues and if programed right it won't add to fatigue.

Haven't done GCSE, but did HSC (Australian High School Certificate) Sport Science prior to my Exercise Science Bachelor's degree.
Most of the content taught in High School Science is hugely oversimplified, sometimes to the point of being incorrect or at least insufficiently nuanced to base an argument upon.
In this case, while the energy synthesis during the set is dominated by the immediate and anaerobic energy systems, ATP resynthesis and the restoration of both the immediate and anaerobic systems between sets is completed almost entirely aerobically.
Look up the concept of Work Prime and Work Prime Balance if you're interested in more info.

So, everything "fact" he states is technically correct and there are numerous studies backing this up however he still manages to come to the wrong conclusion.
Cardio won't help your performance on a single set, but across accumulated sets in a workout (All other things being equal) the more aerobically conditioned athlete will perform better.
