The platter has two nubs (one of which is used) to attach the belt to before lower onto the spindle. Now lower the platter so that the nub is above the pulley. Now rotate the platter clockwise and the pulley will pull the belt off of the nub. No need to drill holes or holding of the belt. Don't have a way to post it in a video. All done!
very nice! do you find the loss of mass is insignificant or maybe i can keep the balance of the platter better if i drill 4 equidistant holes around the platter?
Great video CJ Scratch Torres, I thought about this too. Talking about platters, do you know why the speed of these platters is so uneven and how to fix it? Thank you in advance.
CJ Scratch i noticed the ultrapitch knob on that pt01s. does the rubber band mod fix the torque "warble" at low rpm completely? is there any total fix besides just ripping it out completely?
I was under the impression that the two posts under the platter are there for the belt to be hooked around when you reinstall. When you drop the platter down and clip it you just rotate the platter and the belt slips off into place. Maybe I'm wrong but I've seen videos of folks doing it 🤷♂️
@@CJScratch that's the absolute most foolish thing ever. I now have one of my own, and it's so simple a 2 year old could do it. Unless your tabs are broken, you really are just drilling unnecessary holes in your platter. 🤷♂️ It's true
I thought of maybe adding a sort of tensioner arm in the belt path. So instead of dealing with the platter. open the unit and adjust the arm as needed ( in a hole long enough to move post in or out as needed) to tighten (push it into the belt more) or loosen (move it away) then screw/tighten post back into place.
I just got a paper clip and bent it to the edge of the platter and and used it to hold the rubber band in place with out having to angle it. Its just difficult to remove the paper clip after installed. This video was my inpspiration for the paper clip, because I dont have a plastic drill bit.
how much struggle until a direct drive version of this portables, the main reason I haven't signed for this portablism movement is that I knew the struggle of a belt drive turntable user... and i am just not going back to that, direct drive or forget about it...
Hello i have one. I dis everything with washer, put a rubber ring inside etc... it s working for a time and then the driving belt fall off from the center not from the little white pin... any idea ?
i was having the same issue thats why i drilled the hole in the platter to keep the belt in a straight line instead at an angle while trying to attach the belt to the motor ... there are to little tabs on the bottom of the platter as well you can loop the belt around the tab than line up the belt and spin the platter that will attach the belt as well
it is a rubber wrist band stretched around the bottom of the platter it doubles up the size so the belt has better grip .. it increases the torque and strength of the platter ...
yes the two little feet on bottom are there but i did this at the time cause i was going to modify the platter.. also i didn't have much luck with that method so i drilled the hole ..its funny all the after market platters soon adopted the same method with holes for mounting the belts ...
you can literally see the two little hooks to clip on the belt, lol... it takes under 10 seconds if you do it the right way. no drills or ninja techniques... FYI
this is a extremely good video but there is 2 little clips at the end of the plater, you hook the rubber band to it then set it down, when you have it down just flick on top of the plater and the rubber band will drop into place, im sure it will work but your way is also very good!!!
That's what I was thinking when I saw CJ Scratch pull out the drill (something I'd totally do in the panic of the moment). Factory folk must use those little pins on the outer, under-side of the platter somehow. hooking the belt on them and then a good flick of the platter once it's on makes good sense. perhaps that's why they kept the wobble...so they could put the freakin' thing together.

Just said the same thing.. I don't think people even know these are there for this purpose
Hahahahhaha yeap!
very nice! do you find the loss of mass is insignificant or maybe i can keep the balance of the platter better if i drill 4 equidistant holes around the platter?
i have played around with different designs ... drilling multiple holes in different platters ... honestly they all feel about the same
Great video CJ Scratch Torres, I thought about this too. Talking about platters, do you know why the speed of these platters is so uneven and how to fix it? Thank you in advance.
Thanks CJ but how much difference is the more steady torque?
It's a pretty big improvement
CJ Scratch i noticed the ultrapitch knob on that pt01s. does the rubber band mod fix the torque "warble" at low rpm completely? is there any total fix besides just ripping it out completely?
the rubber band don't actually i haven't found any fix for that just yet ...

yes they are but it is still easier to do it this way

@@Evi1penguin5 any chance you can post pics or a vid, mine is proving very hard to fit

Any idea what is the size of the belt and from where can buy it ?
you can order ta new belt from jessedeandesigns.com
Fucking baller, man. I luckily had a step drill and all to do this in less than five minutes after watching your video. Worked on the very first time.
this is pretty genius tbh
thanks
Thank you so much for this tuto.

interesting concept
i just did it on plain pt01 thank you.
no problem I'm glad it helped.... thanks for watching
Does the scratch steady ring reduce the bounce like platter bars? Where did you get that?

direct drive would be ideal but the cost of a portable with a direct drive all cost twice as much
real djs use belts, this is real skill, techs killed the game by being to accurate and anybody can dj with them
Damn mine is on its way in the mail and now I feel like a made poor purchase.
@@marcomizzoni8323 Hey was it worth buying? I'm about to buy one, did it last?
@5:10 genius ... where do I buy the transparent plastic ring that helps platter/table tilt, ebay?
hit me up on Facebook cj scratch

What’s that purple rubber band for?
it is a rubber wrist band stretched around the bottom of the platter it doubles up the size so the belt has better grip .. it increases the torque and strength of the platter ...
why? there are 2 feet under the plate which are used to attach the strap. easy and fast.

the rubber wrist band ? or the scratch steady ring

I never have a issue putting the mini belt on ur just by having that bracelet is causing the problem that’s my word
It’s the kiddy bracelet I’ve never used a bracelet u should’ve just gotta phuckit
the rubber wrist band helps increase the torque of the platter… i did this video many years ago so i was modding and learning as i went…
