Joe, I love that you love In-Step by SRV. When I was a kid, I'd listen to Riviera Paradise on loop. I loved it and still do. When I started mixing, I often used it for a reference track. One day I'll achieve that uber clean, but still vintage sounding recording. The reverb is some of the best I've heard outside of a cinematic Disney soundtrack.

About your line voltage purifier, to get clean current, it is a big SMPS (modern power supply) from (probably) 110V to 110v? but the trick is, they boost the current to a higher voltage, in Europe is that 400V and then back to, in your case, to 110V and filter out all dirt. I have those from Furman, 8 pieces. They run 24/24/7 I had to do maintenance on one, one day repair and back on track. So now I learned you something instead the other way, hehe.

Absolutely, those are very special boxes! I started with a 16 x 24 foot shell and by time I double walled and added booths the control was left at 17x15 feet.
I got the Behringer P-16 mixer going to the P16 input power play box, then adat into interface and into protools. Q&A: how do you get your tracks to output? I’ve tried using sends to outputs but I must be missing a step. Thanks. Love your courses!
It was a lot! 😂😂 the room was already there so it was not a ground up build. I started by having the ceilings busted out for the extra heights and take them down to the studs so we could do the room within a room thing. It took way too long with the typical contractor craziness that always seems to be an issue. I never figured up exactly how much I spent but it was way too much per usual.
I will have to Google that to see what that is. I have tried some others, but never found anything I was comfortable using. Try the magnetic bracelets!! They’re magic 🎉

I am curious about the price of those Audio scape pultec units, I am about to replace my Warm WA2A with the audio scape LA2A style but was thinking about getting the Tegeler EQp pultech style unit which is a two channel unit for $1730. I’LL check the Tegeler site for pricing…is it safe to say there units are of better quality that the warm..!
I really like both companies and hate to take sides 😂 they do sound different though. I decided to keep my pair of in the mix room for stereo bus and I took my warm down to the Tracking Room for inserts on recording

It was way too much. I started the construction during Covid when lumber and building supplies went nuts. And the contractor I used honestly played games in the last half of the build going as slow as he could to bill as much as he could until he scored another job as a follow up. Getting a skilled but honest contractor is VITAL!!
Hmmm. That’s a solid question. This signal arts is great enough that I’m content to stay out with it as the “go to”. I have not tried the Heiserman 47 yet but expect it would be top tier after hearing this 251 they make. On the affordable under a grand side, I’ve been impressed with some copies from warm and Advanced Audio.
There’s was an experimental summing box I didn’t speak about up on the rack. The manufacturer hadn’t committed fully to making it a product and didn’t want me talk about it yet.
@@livingmoneypolitics there can be absolutely. The amount of difference depends on the analog circuit that is doing the summing. The ITB mix buss of software like Pro Tools has very much improved over the years and I would never say that it’s “necessary” to go OTB for summing. However, if doing a lot of group treatment OTB It does make sense to limit the conversions as well. I wish I could remember the video title so I could point you there but our friend Marc Daniel Nelson did a video on the PLAP Channel a few years ago, demonstrating side-by-side differences of his mix summed ITB and going through an SSL summing box. We have SO MANY OPTIONS now with south great software and hardware options. It’s a good time in history for us mixers! 🎉🎉
I really prefer to just record and mix. I have a deep appreciation for that little finishing touch that Mastering ads and I believe those guys that specialize in just that task are better than me.
There’s actually three in there. Two are on the floor rack of the left-hand side of the desk. Those service the I/O, monitor system, etc. The other is all the outboard in the desk and old reverb rack. The third patch bay is at the bottom, right hand side of the rack and services everything on that left-hand side of the room All are tt
