Joe is always so engaging, & has such an easy going style. Very knowledgable & a great hang. Reckon there’s a mile long queue of people wanting to work with him… welcome to the PLAP team Joe.

I do not like these types of videos because I always want and look to go out and buy more gear 😂 Joe really has an enthusiasm for this and definitely appreciate him hosting videos. Great addition to the PLAP community. More videos please 😊
in the olden days of the 90's, I was working for a graphic design start up company, even though I was a musician and into home recording, I knew nothing. I went to see a company called Shep, just outside Royston, UK and met the guy who founded Shep, he was an ex Rupert Neve engineer. He was a really great guy and I really wish that I had been more knowledgeable at the time, I would have asked so many questions. My company never got the gig to produce a brochure for Shep but as far as I'm aware, I don't believe they ever produced one or ever really needed one.
Burritos 🐬😊 Key to dealing with driving places in Nashville. Never thought that could happen. 😅 Did he have to trade the kick pedal for a burrito place? 😂
Great studio, serious selection that seems to be there because it's used and collecting dust. @InTheMixJoeCarrell always glanced over the UTA gear while they may be the most expansive of the rack :D
@@InTheMixJoeCarrell nice. I don't think I've heard of that one before, let alone seen one. Having looked it up on the EMT website just now, this thing is indeed a remarkable piece of work. Not sure how many other pieces of audio gear can claim to have had an MIT professor onboard as part of the design team. It can also do chorus and has a hand-operated phaser function too ... wow. A serious slice of audio history right there, much thanks for broadening my knowledge!
@@InTheMixJoeCarrell There was something about tweaking and excess at one point in the video. I can't recall over which gear... But you know what? It should be a movie one day: The Kreepy Doll Factory 😆 Maybe kreepy dolls can handwire amps, pedals and other gear and work excessive hours. Then there will be a grunge revival spearheaded by Brutus.
I really like these studio tours… thank you very much. I just get tired a little fast with these long series of : so amazing… oh my god… awesome… so much… so good… so great… so nice… so beautiful… so cool… so special… so special (ooops I wrote it twice, sorry)… so big… fantastic… I love it ! yeah !!!! 😅 porn vibe… sounds a little fake… but you’re definitely forgiven 😘
How is possible that there is no other place in the world where you can put 5 musician in a single room and play music and sound well? I guess everywhere beside Nashville (including all other USA places) are just not good enough, or simply you can find a more than 6 x 6 meters studio.
I don’t remember exactly what was said but I’m sure it wasn’t intended to imply no other city can do good band recordings! Just stating that we are lucky that that IS the norm here instead of the exception. Those days with legendary studio pros in one room together is a very special experience. Best wishes.
How many studios in homes and elsewhere is there in Nashville? Between this channel and Andrew Masters....seems like almost 1 in 10 houses or something. Incredible.

Another top vid from Joe. Love the AMS RMX and the DMX. Would love a fuller review of both of those to get your thoughts… ❤
Not a bad idea Paul. Had multiple requests for an effects vid so that IS on the list

Warren, if you could do a breakdown of "We build then we break" off The Fray album you did, that'd dope. That whole album is classic.
Good idea!
We'd ove to have you guys come do a tour at our Charlotte studio!

What is that piece of kit at 18:04?
That is the EMT 250 reverb unit. Off the top of my head, I think it may be the first ever digital reverb made
