Starting a Van Conversion With No Experience | VAN LIFE UK

- Van conversions are complex, but trying to do one with no experience is even harder. I started my Vauxhall Vivaro van build, but I have no idea what I'm doing. My only knowledge of van conversions is from watching other van lifers convert their vans here on TH-cam.

It's hard work starting from scratch. I watched the entire van build of wills whereabouts and it wore him out. I just have a folded down seat in the car now, so what you have is luxury in comparison. Keep going, after all it's your home.

You really have a lot to do mate..so you need your own power tools..your gonna screw in 100s of screws and by hand is gonna take for ever..ryobi is great quality and well priced...I converted my van and seriously uou need power tools..I also recommend a power mitre saw...makes getting joints right easy...
What a quality video! Great way to show what it's really like for someone who doesnt have everything to hand. Only decided to do this myself recently. It looks like you handle some of those frustrating situations really well. Glad I stumbled upon your vides before I begin. Thanks!

Well done so far. Ive just got little 'seat boxes' for my bed in the smal van. And a roll up matress plus my duvet. Not so bad.
Go see your folks at weekends and get what you can done then. Get a blow up mattress and sleep well during the week..... If your folks are only an hour away, commute. Don't get stressed mate, it leads to heart attacks in later life..
I agree, life has been stressful lately
Socks with sandals will have you up and running in a day.

Hi ,, great progress 😊. I wouldn’t put a window in your only wall space , put one in the door instead, as this is unusable space or space where you can’t hang stuff off 😊😊

Having converted a similar SWB Vivaro from scratch with no experience I can appreciate how daunting it is, however now it's complete (if any self-build is ever completed?) the rewards are huge, holidays, days out even full timing though it would be very snug in ours. Now subscribed.

Looks like a nice van NK. You've made a great start. It's always harder to convert a van whilst living in it.... I've still got loads to do. You'll get there 👍🏼😁

Good effort man, coming along nicely! I got ptsd watching you with the aluminium insulation tape, that was the bane of my life during my van conversion, awful stuff to work with!

Great start I hear the sound deadening and insulation is the worst part but I haven't tried it yet so have that joy to look forward to 🤣. Hope you aren't cooking yourself in the van in this weather! Just getting in the car for 10 minutes is bad enough I can't Imagen what it's like trying to sleep in a van in this heat 🥵
