All they know is that the never ending fire is ready to eat em up, those scenes really showed a lot, the fear of GOD in their faces.

Best demonstration of this games facial animations is definitely the mission Goodbye, Dear Friend, the one where you make sure Colm gets killed. He’s laughing and smiling between the gag but once he sees his men held at gunpoint and Arthur with the sniper, his face quickly shifts to panic. It’s amazing, I almost sympathized for him.
I like how Brontë knew people like The Van Der Linde Gang but they’re more complicated than that. They don’t just follow the money, but the leader to the end
