Hi Brian, I'm going to copy your clever idea of putting crankcase in the oven before pressing in new bearings. What temp/gas mark would you recommend and for how long?
Dave, it don't need much, I think mine was in for about 10 mins 180 deg, I use my hot air gun a lot to warm up smaller parts, just fitted a piston that way, put the bearings in the freezer though for the same time and they will drop in no trouble.

Not sure, 80 grit I think.
