A blast from the past! I had a friend who had one of these in the 1960s, and passed his test on it. I had a C15 - I don’t know if the C15 was really any better, though it might have been a bit lighter. My mate then went one (or several) better and got an A7 (Road Rocket? Anyway, the 500cc twin sports model). Thanks for the memory jogging! Les
Lovely old bike, everything is so simple and they are so reliable, far better than the C15 which followed it, albeit a fair bit heavier. I had one in 1967-9 bought for £12.10s.00 and served me well until a myopic Morris 1000 driver turned right in front of me, sending me in a perfect arc over the moggys roof and destroying my C12s' forks (written off). Great old bike though, would have another anytime. Good work Sir, I hope she gives you years of pleasure!
Ha! My first bike! Not really but close. I had a 1955 C11 250. Paid about $300 for it. I did the clutch with a friend in a vein attempt to fix a gearbox issue. Back then a "new" clutch was a plastic bag of cork segments that had to be glued to the friction plates. Great fun for a couple of 4th form school boys! Never did fix the gearbox issue.
CAN U TELL ME HOW TO LINE UP THE REAR NUMBER PLATE METAL FITTING WITH THE CURVED METAL ON REAR MUD GUARD.DOES BOTTOM OF BRACKET GO LEVELL WITH BOTTOM OF REAR MUDGUARD PLEASE
Another great project Any videos planned on the lotus? I can see you’ll keep me busy glued to the screen 😂 When in fact I have very similar jobs I should be getting on with! Including a lotus 😊
Did I mention I have a Lotus?! I must have done! Actually I will be dusting the old girl off in the near future so will be doing a 'guided tour'... What Lotus do you have?
Thanks! I don't know Mr Tweed personally, but I love his videos.... VERY entertaining and interesting to boot! He's not done anything for a little while so I'm hoping there will be something soon!
