Damn that lid looks good. Definitely agree helmets need to meet and be so Much higher than the standard. It's the one peice of gear you can't cut corners on. Might have to give one of these a try.
@loamwolf thank you for finally coming out with this long term review of this helmet... I actually won this helmet in a raffle & haven’t used it yet ***(was waiting on this review) before I decided to keep it & use it or just give it away.... thanks again guys & keep up the awesome job
@@TheLoamWolf I’ve decided after this review that I’m gonna keep it BUT I’m definitely going to look more into the crash test... results or should I say try to get those #’s. Lol!!! Like you guys had mentioned it may have just past enough to get the sticker... so with that being said I’m not going to ride to crazy until I do get the #’s.
Please talk about breathability on the uphills and also the sound transmission.as well as weight. look at the Specialized helmet, they designed earholes in it to hear, and as you know all full face helmets flow air differently. just tell us what you thought as a tester. thanks as always, nice job!
I have both. The D4 is a little lighter and a little more comfy as far as padding goes. The aircraft 2 definitely breathes better due to the fact that the padding isn’t as thick. It breathes nice enough that I’ve used it for a few gnarly enduro pedal days. Can’t say the same for the D4, ripped that off after one climb.
Could we ask why you compare this to a Proframe? We are curious as we get many questions from people wanting to compare full on DH helmets to Proframes, which are definitely not DH helmets and want to better understand what the consumer is hoping to know. Thank you!
@@TheLoamWolf because they look very similar and Fox markets its helmet as "enduro". I think a dedicated downhill helmet is most suitable for a bikepark (esp gravity assist), and they are in the same ballpark of expense. What I'm looking for is the best overall enduro helmet, not as heavy as a DH Bell but not as light and non-protective as many on the market. Cost is way down the list, not being in a wheelchair is super high on the list.
Thank you very much, when it comes to head/brain safety and you're spending as much as you do on helmets, we think it should be made public by all brands.
@@Lozy_mtbon the new version the visor has two screws on the sides and it is adjustable via a third screw in the middle under the visor. It's not with the pins that slide like the old 2021 version. Also sizing is better on the new version.
You need to pay a broke college student to put helmets on and dive off a clif with a series of helmets. Just joking having one place do testing on helmets unbiased by the companies that make them is a hell of a good idea.
Loving the push for more testing! Fully support those efforts. Great job guys!
Much appreciated!
Yes! All helmet brands need to send their helmets to Virginia Tech for review and classification!!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Can’t wait for this to release again next month! Been waiting on stock for ages here in the UK
I agree. Looks are by far the most important factor when choosing a full-face helmet

Awesome and you are welcome. what did you decide if we could ask??

When I learned about this series I was hoping this would be included. Very nice! I know that you already reviewed it before but I wanted an update.
Cool, thanks!

totally agree on the standard testing!!!
Awesome thank you much!
Love the reviews. Please consider giving us a 360 degree turn to show us the look of the helmet when you have it on.
we are in it with you regarding testing helmet! Thank you
Would love to see uniform safety ratings for DH helmets👍👍
Good Job! The next helmet could be Poc Otocon, Ouh yeah!
lol @8:20 you are using the trajecta not the aircraft 2. They do look similar tho
How come many mtb helmets don’t have screens over the vents? Aren’t sticks a hazard to go in one of the face vents ?
Hay, pls can u make vid about tld d4 helmet. It's very popular but there is not much videos about it's safety features
Weight?
Great review, with a 58cm head do you suggest I go with a a large? Thanks!
Yeah that's probably the best bet.
Anyone could help me?
My head is 55cm size s 52-56 size m 56-58
Which one ?
Thanks
Easily the quietest helmet I've worn thanks to no MIPS.
Is it? Mine has a really loud creaking sound coming from the chinguard. Wasn't yours @theloamwolf
Hello
I have 57 cm head, can you help me which size for me? M or L?
The XL size is listed at 61-64 cm, but I couldn't even fit my 63.5 cm noggin through the chin guard. The search continues ...
Check out the Leatt DBX 4.0 DH
Check out the new version of the aircraft 2, it has better sizing than the first production
@@matteonegrisolo3550how do you know the sizing changed?
@@HelplmAlive I bought the old and the new version
im surprised we dont already have something showing the consumer the safety rating that should be mandatory
How would you compare this to tld d4 carbon ?

How does it compare to the Fox Proframe?

Independent helmet testing is vital without it we are all just guessing
100% aircraft 2 vs Fox RPC pro carbon!
Why not all MTB helmets we are paying top dollar and their signs be some transparency with the safety results. As always well done, keep it coming.

The visors on these are absolute trash though. Those tiny little pins broke and the visor was useless, just sitting in my bag.
They have a new version with a new version
