I LOOOove the woods stories, camping, mountains, national park, hiking etc stories. My absolute favorite.
Me as well, it transports me to a place I’ve never really got to experience because of location and not growing up with a father, but always wanted to experience. I love it.
@@tylerdavis3I relate to this so much! : ( I hope you can find a nice community of people to go out with. In the midwest, I can’t go on those sick hiking trips we hear about. But there are woods and trails. There are apps where you can find local communities that do things together. Not just outdoors but there are people that go to art classes, cafes to talk about business, long walks through downtown, bars, etc. You can see who is all coming and typically it’s an actual group of people not just a couple so it’s less likely something crazy would happen. But we are listeners of Let’s Read after all so I trust your judgment. I plan on using those when my anxiety is better. I’ve had friends that had great success with those apps. I recommend it!
Then you'd love a channel called Bob Gymlan, he's all about Bigfoot and understanding strange forest sightings.
same
Def me too my fav ones! As well as the night shift and police stories
Sometimes it's entertaining to listen to deep woods stories submitted by people who definitely don't go into the deep woods very often
100%😂
My favorite are the “deep woods stories” submitted by people who not only ‘definitely don’t go into the deep woods very often’ (or even really just the woods at all), but who also sometimes consider those patches of trees - big enough to cover the length of a few houses, but small enough to stand in the middle and still see out of the trees on both sides - “woods” or “DEEP woods” 👌🏼😅
But how do you know they don’t visit the woods often? Because you say so? You don’t know anything about them or where they are or what they do 😆 I take it you don’t think before you speak
@@se7ensfarm112 epic!
@@bryannaajoyy We get it dude, you think you're tough because you're from an all white rural community of less than a thousand people and carry a .45 to the grocery store.
Hell yeah more deep woods stories. These are my favorite!!! Thanks for all you do Joel? ❤
💯
Same! I love the deep woods and camping stories the best
Same here👍
This video was a godsend! Driving thru Kansas on I-70 and bored out of my mind. Exactly what I needed, thank you Joel.
Parts of I-70 are gorgeous here in Kansas!!
You can come hang out with me 😊
Hey, Kansas isn't that boring. 😂
Thank you sir, I love the outdoor ones and I’ve been needing to pay my dues for a while now
Wow, thanks so much!!
Big baller booya
LOL unreal, buddy just spent $50 on a free video (written and read by AI... 🙄🙄)
@@BobertGubson The Original poster is taking time out of his life to post this long form content. I would payout aswell if I had Money to spare. It's Very pleasant to listen to.
@@TheMovieReelWriter1005 already paying premium because of the add bullying
I love the long video’s, it usually takes me 50 minutes to fall asleep these days with all the stress in my shitty life. So thank u for a new long one ❤
POOF! ..u have been GRANTED ONE wish come true...but beware and use it wisely...🎉
It gets better, I'm sorry your going though your ordeal. God bless.
❤🙏
It's been 6 months, have things improved?
Same here. I typically search out the longest ones I can find
Imagine my surprise hearing "Vernon" in the first few seconds. 😂 Thank you for these stories. Our area (not Vernon but nearby) is on a major evacuation due to a fire that spread in no time. Everyone has been looking for distractions; your channel definitely always helps.
Hope they get the fires under control in Kelowna🤞I was in my early 20's, and living in Armstrong in 2003 when the last big fire happened in Kelowna.
Saaaaaame! Like now I wanna go check out wtf is up round Lumby lol Hope youre doing good what with the whole Evac, I went through Kelowna recently and it was scary seeing less people than ive ever seen there before
Today was a very special day for my daughter Jolene as today was her birthday she turned 1 years old today so my wife and I held a birthday party for her I held her in my arms and she got to blow out her very first birthday candle. My daughter is very precious and adorable. Joel I want to also take this time to thank you for your awesome narrations you’re amazing.
Happy birthday Jolene 🎉
My name is Kaylene and my friend always sings the Jolene song to me but with my name instead
Happy Birthday Jolene
Happy birthday Jolene 🎂
Happy Birthday Jolene! 🥳🧁🎉🍰🎂🎈
Long time listener, but probably haven't listened for maybe 3-4 years? Glad to hear your voice is still great, and the stories still send shivers down my spine.
So, *_not a long time listener_* . Literally the opposite.
You haven’t listened in a long time
Story 2 was the most British story I've heard so far on this channel
If anybody needs any translations ask away lol
Big girl blouse?
@@dianavasquez3295 it's been a while since I listened so it's a bit out of context now but I can only imagine it's the feminine version of "big boy pants". Like "get your big boy pants on and go sort it out" being the equivalent of "manning up" or "be brave"
Not 100% as it's been 3 weeks and I can't even remember the story 😂😂 If you can quote me the whole sentence I'll be able to say for definite
I think it was in that context as you have explained it, big girl blouse. There was another word that rhymed...sounded like Margie fargie...what does that mean?
@@dianavasquez3295 was it argie bargie? That's one we use for a mild argument or a fight.
Like if I was at a bar and two guys started having a go at each other I'd say "they're having a bit of argie bargie over there"
Think of tussle or tustle however you'd spell it. Not a full blown shouting match or fist fight but getting there.
Thank you. The prounciation after trying to recall the word sounded like what I wrote though your explanation clears it up👌
Story 2. So let me get this straight. These dudes decided to go out on some survivalist game competition, but their packs were heavy with changes of clothes and food???? Creepy dude aside, how difficult was this survival game supposed to be considering they brought provisions.
Yea right isn’t the whole point to see who has better SURVIVALIST skills meaning getting by in nature with only what u can find in nature no extra clothes or food and water that’s basically just camping and hiking
@shawnbbunbbbybbb3942 Common misconception. Wild survival just means you can get by fine in the wilderness, with any sort of tools. It doesn't necessarily mean surviving with the bare minimum. Also training yourself in good bushcrafting skills is key, like navigation, wildlife identification, radio communications, search and rescue, etc.
All of these things are meant to aid in not dying in case you get lost or are in a vehicle crash in the wilds and so forth.
They did say they were aware it was not the original plan, but they thought it would still be quite a challenge for their friends.
I could listen to read a insurance policy or repair manual 😂 You're voice is so relaxing. I suffer from severe anxiety and sleep paralyzes. Since I have been listening to all night I haven't had an episode. I'm very thankful for what you do. I will join when I can afford it.
It’s always so interesting to listen to stories that literally happened where you live! I live in Chico and have for the past 32 years. Even though I was a child when this happened, I know every area he was talking about, which makes it more eerie when picturing the story!!
I live right in between Yuba City and Chico. I heard this story retold by at least a dozen different people, and it always feels like people are trying to say this happened due to developmental or mental health issues. I don't buy it. You can't accidentally get up into the Plumas forest.
@@Bad_Hombre_ADK exactly 👍
@Bad_Hombre_ADK ya there ain't no way that they accidently went Oro-Quincy Hwy from Chico. I'm from the area too.
You have the perfect narrative voice, mysterious, compelling! Well done you! The deep woods stories are my favorite!
I'm Scottish but living in darkest deepest France. I love your stories
Vive la France!
It's always a pleasure to listen to your voice while working the late, spooky nights. Thank you, Joel!!!
Bedtime listen sorted! You are an amazing narrator and an amazing person (based in your live streams lol). I hope to be a half decent narrator myself one day!
Glaaaaaazing
Well sir spooky I am now subscribed and you have a wonderful narrative voice.❤
Never commented before.. but I wanted to take the time to one say that your voice calms me enough to be able to fall asleep. You are amazing. Thank you so much. Keep up the great work
Who else is listening to joel while they on the clock or off the clock? 👷🏾♂️
I do, both on and of the clock… and yes, I work alone so no one around thinks I’m weird 😉
@@ju-did-ithlol!

Today's been rough so it's nice to see your newest video. Thanks for making my days better.
The troll on the intro is amazing! Almost like the real thing here in Norway 😂👍🇳🇴
For real, for real??
Story 3 really knows how to make a tangent last as long as possible...
🤣 seriously
Thank you for giving me the courage to humiliate the Wendigo that lives in my backyard
Lol

How does one humiliate a wendigo?
I wasn’t expecting to hear about the Yuba County 5, but I was surprised. Thanks for the excellent content, as always!
Literally cannot wait to listen! Super excited. Best topic ever. Thank you Joel🎉❤😊

Rockin with you on the LiveStream was hella cool tonight! Thanks for all the content Joel! Something I definitely look forward to every couple of days 🎙️🙏
YESSSSSS MY FAVE TOPIC THANK U SM 💜
Wendigoon covered the story about "the boys" really in depth if anyone was interested in listening to more on it
Yes, and the story had quite a different outcome.
The Yuba City boys? Many youtubers have done stories on it. Very strange tale.
The Missing Enigma have two full episodes on the Yuba boys, filled with information from polis and ranger reports I haven’t heard from any other TH-camr. He really does great research about the cases he looks into! Highly recommend!
Deep woods stories have been my fav lately! Never know what people are gonna run into
Love all your narrations but especially the deep woods/hiking ones. And the intro is super cool.
thank you so much for all the great stories my guy, appreciate all you do

Hi Joel I love the intro and the art and great job I already know it’s going to be great! 🫨
Always super stoked for new let's read story's is one of the best
My husband is a logger and has been in the woods since he was child. He has many interesting stories. Some are sad, funny, and some that make your hair stand up 😅
You should have him send a couple in!
@@casuallyceltic spelling isn’t his specialty but I wouldn’t mind writing down his stories for you awesome people
Please share his stories...would be very much appreciated, thks😎
I love these deep woods stories ❤❤
Boy, you telling a story is like me reading a book. You convey every detail. It's like i'm actually there living out those stories through you. Very enjoyable listening ❣️

Deep woods r the scariest to me!! Just dont know whats lurking in the dark!! Love it Joel
It's really cool that Kevin Spacey took the time to narrate these stories

I'm fascinated with stories about the woods
Hey! Lovin your videos! Thx for all you do! ❤ Patty
Thanks Let’s Read !!!
Love this horror topic, more of this please
Hey! I lived in Lumby from birth to 8, then Vernon until 16. It's so weird to hear those places in a story.
I live for these kinds of stories!
Love your stories, and the opening video imagery of the troll, wow, love it.
More deep woods stories!! I love these so much. I always listen to them when hiking and camping 😅
Same
That beginning, though! Who else listens to let's read daily?!
Nice
The live show / recording for this was great!
That intro made my heart rate go up way too much.
First! Lets go!
Noice man!
I like the woods it's one of the most popular places for horror
Hola Joel feeling extremely excited for you’re stories 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
A buck 99??? Really?
Hi from New Zealand. Really enjoyed these stories and your voice is perfect. I narrate audiobools for the blind so I know the hard work which it can be. Story 2 creeped me out. And the final one about the missing men. Is that based on a true story?
Thanks for reading these creepy stories
I'm subscribing. I love the commercial free stories.
Delicious stories but 2 nd was a bit disturbing
I am falling in love with ur vids 💕
Great video and congrats one 1 mill
That's crazy I live just up the road from Kielder Forest! I loved Ray Mears programs as well haha. Great video/stories as always
My friend's grandma had a story from her youth where she and some other villagers were out in the woods when they heard a footstep-like sound of a gigantic entity, but people could only see the trees in a line fall side ways, it was coming towards the group. When it got extremely close to the group it just stopped. However, no one could see anything, except feel the trembling as if it was something invisible to human eye approaching the villagers. It could've been perhaps some sort of simple natural phenomenon, but earthquakes etc are extremely unlikely although not impossible in that part of the world.
Probably was an elephant.
intro was sick.. also lived in Vernon, BC a couple years ago. excited to listen - cheers.
I live very close to Vernon! Thanks for the great story.
Thank you Joel.
Thank you TH-camJoel! Your videos get me through hours of chronic illness. Thank you! Thank you! 👍🤘👻🖤💙🖤💙☠🖤💙🖤💙👻"
Vernon is super close to where I live. I always love hearing spooky stories from near by.
