Should we TOW a SMART CAR?! SMART FOR TWO - we take a test drive..

- Currently we still need a run around/support vehicle however our current one is terrible on fuel. But is a smart car the right choice?

Congratulations, great little car to tow behind the van. We tow Ethel, our Skoda Citigo 900cc city car. It’s great for taking along with you for convenience and to get into those hard to get to places. Choose wisely with your towing kit and conversion. You will need an additional towing eye under the front bumper for the A Frame and ours has adapted hydraulic brakes which is activated by the van when towing. The conversion kit also includes headlight, and tail light adapters for when connected to the van. It’s a little complicated but a good A Frame supplier should be able to explain all this. So possibly a little more than 300 dollars ? A great decision, we love ours 😉👍🏻🚐 🚙 Trev

Hi guys. Great idea with the smart four-two. Lindsay’s dad did exactly what you are doing and it was such a great convenience to him he loved it. Plus to go into town meant he didn’t have to keep packing the van up if he wanted to nip out for a meal or to go to the store. And on top of that Tim we have to keep the girls happy don’t we lol. Thanks for sharing Dextor with us lol

My neighbour bought a smart car like this, same age for a local runaround. She filled up with fuel after buying it and used it most days for over a week and then took it back to the garage and asked them to fix the fuel gauge. They had to tell her that there was nothing wrong with it because it uses so little fuel. Way to go and cheaper to get around.

Smart choice! I've seen them towed here in Germany with front-end covers. I was thinking of getting a bicycle back in my commuting days, but I just stayed close to work. 😊🚚

When I lived in Hot Springs, AR, there was someone that had one of those smart cars. They had a license plate bracket thing that made it look like a wind up toy, it looked like is was unwinding as it went down the road.🤣🤣🤣
