The whole purpose of the Vietnam War is not about liberation rather about the stopping of the manifestation of communism to Southeast Asia. In order to better understand it is to question what is governmental system ideology and entities. What is Capitalism, Communism, Marxism, Socialism etc.. each try to out do the other. No governmental ideology will work if there is no other countries follow suit and participate. That is the real reason why in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Cuba, Venezuela and other countries that have or had communism foot prints.
I think that your wrong regarding this being about Capitalism or Communism. There are some underlying themes which point us to what is really going on.
If you look at it with cognitive-dissonant point of view. Southeast Asians could have cared less for socialism/communism. They were nationalists wanting the European colonizers out of their countries. The Vietnam War mess could have been avoided if the U.S. government weren't pompous. The leadership of the entire region wanted the U.S.' help initiating a social democracy system, but the western view of Asians/non-Whites stemmed from the old European Eugenic Theory of non-whites were incapable of governing themselves. Therefore, Southeast Asians had no one to help them but the former U.S.S.R. Did you know that by the end of the Vietnam War, Ho Chi Minh wasn't in charged? It was because he leaned toward a social democracy and regulated free market system? Simply put, the U.S.' war handed the entire region to a totalitarian system under the name of communism.
I don’t got it about her story. There’s nothing to do with Vietnam war. In 1979 Vietnam invaded into Cambodia to push Khmer Rouge to Thailand to prevent Khmer Rouge killing Cambodian people. Cambodian people were happy return to their relationship in rural countryside and some return back to Phnom Penh, live under Vietnamese military in Cambodia. Cambodian people began trade business again until 1980s notes bank started again. Vietnamese soldiers camping everywhere where in Cambodia so Khmer Rouge could not recapture Cambodia while pol pot still alive. I learned during Khmer Rouge they guarded all the border between Thailand to loss to prevent Cambodian escape to Thailand. Most Cambodian didn’t agree with Vietnamese military camping in Cambodia may be they are former Khmer Rouge only Khmer people didn’t mind Vietnamese military camping in Cambodia as long as they don’t troublemaker, some of them did but their boss took them back to Vietnam.
During the Vietnam war, The US government bombed the areas that produced most of their crops. It destrey 80 percent of the crops and forced people to the inner cities. Which was an illegal bombing! Which helped the Khmer Rouge gain the upper hand, and eventally took over Cambodia. The Khmer Rouge attacked the border of Vietnam in where they killed Cambodian/Vietnamese farmers, which help started the Invasion of Cambodia. Even after the war, a large percent of the rural countryside were gone because of the bombings, and not including that 80-90 of people that had an education, art, music, and others were wiped out. The current Prime minsiter of Cambodian is Hun Sen, He was a former Khmer Rouge who deflected to the Vietnamese side after the Reds were defeated. Later on they would appoint him in Power and which he has been ruling Cambodia with an iron fist for the last 20 plus years. Him and his goons are very corrupted and pretty much are taking all the foreign aids for themselves...

US intervention? Why not put the blame on Pol Pot? or the European colonization or the communist movement? I love to hear about this “US interventions” and how is it even relate to deportation?
So you can’t see the relationship between all of them? Your are using western words to describe a western world projection of what they wish you to see. My country loves to tell the story of Pol Pot. He killed millions and it is said over and over in movies on TH-cam on Facebook. The program is working quite well and all the while the people sleep.
@@JeckyJ , regarding Kissinger, if your referring to the authorization of the bombing of Cambodia during the Nixon administration and destabilizing of the country and having the USA man in charge, which I think was Lon Nol. no, but according to her, Trump has the highest deportation rate. Under Trump he deported about 68 per year. while under Bush and Obama, the average was about 26 and 43 per year.
I like your style my friend

You look Cambodian ( khmer ) than Viet.
So cute
I wish you can teach me more about your race if that's possible
A good starting point on this whole subject, would be to read 1. Noam Chomsky and another would be Dave Livingston’s books

Try reading into the name "Helen Kissinger" and the reason why Cambodia turned the way it was...
