I DO NOT FEEL BAD FOR THEM AT ALL. I am Cambodian myself. I was born during the Khmer Rouge. I went many days without food and I saw many deaths at a very young age. By the time I was 10 years old, I saw at least 10 deaths in front of me.
I came to America 30 years ago. I did not speak English. My family had no money. We had NOTHING. I lived in the ghetto, but I chose NOT to do drugs, commit crimes or join any gangs. Now I am now an Engineer. It’s all about choices. I went through the same struggles as these fools but I made something out of my situation.

No excuses. I’m an orphan that was raised by my aunts after coming to the US in 1980. Life was tough. I used to live in Long Beach. Even though we were poor, I didn’t robbed or try to get rich quick.These guys acting like it’s cool to be gangsters. Be a man and be somebody. The only grandparents I've ever known adopted my whole family as part of a refugee/adoption program. I'm thankful & appreciative of my life, opportunities & freedom I would never have is Laos.

Am Cambodian and I am lil older than most of these guys. I even know some of them. Am I sad for their deportation yes. But do I feel bad for them no. I had it worst than these clowns growing up in Chicago and having to go Tru gang fights and getting bullies from black and Hispanic people's at school and rough neighborhood. I fought for myself and even helped my homies for their stupidity. Most fights are about colors. Bloods and crips. Most troubles are from helping my friends. I was lucky and smart Enough to know what's right and wrong thanks to my father teaching. I became a u.s citizen. Yes I been to jail for gang fights plenty of time and I came out with a misdemeanor nothing major I always do the right thing. I had a choice I became wiser as I got older. I don't owe anything to anyone in the gang community I walked my head's up high because I don't Rob or steal or act tough. I only fight those who act tough. I only want to fight the so call gangster. I don't fight my own ppl. So getting back to my point is we all have a choice. These guys chose a choice at a moment. And that one moment got them deported. As a child of immigrant parents myself, I can still relate to them somewhat. We not always perceived as bonefide Americans, yet are also not viewed as being Asian enough, by whatever our ethnic roots are. There is a duality in our experience that only the children of immigrants can understand. Anyway, we should forgive them for whatever crimes they did in America. Give them the opportunity to be law abiding & upstanding citizens in their ancestral homelands. Yes they are Cambodians.

This is a never ending cycle for the Khmerican men every single one of my cousins who was born in Cambodia is in a gang or have already been deported due to commiting crimes, my father has been in federal prison many times and was threatened with deportation. I am from El Salvador and a few decades ago the USA started deporting ms gang members back to El Salvador which had horrible results. Ms gang is like a cancer now it started out in Los Angeles and spread out all around the world. My advice to native Cambodians would be. Be very cautious with this people and please learn from us Salvadorans so you don’t make the same mistakes that we made. If you see them close to your schools.. put them in jail because most probably they are going after your kids to joint their gangs.

Crimes was all around us, we have been harassed but my parents told us to just walked away. To make sure do the right things work hard in school, get good education. And we did, both my brother and I are college graduates. Have good jobs. These guys have the same opportunity, but choose otherwise . Don’t feel sorry for them at all. Why would you say that? Have some compassion. I also grew up in bad areas and some of my friends were gone (dead); we had a tight knit family and relatives but the outside was so much more. Even though I followed what my parents wanted (for the most part) I understood how easy it was to get sidetracked into the life. I remembered myself in my teens and into the 20s looking out for my friends as they did for me. Whether it was about money, girls, recognition, you cannot really blame anyone for that as it just happens and we learn from it. We were young. Some never get to learn from it (RIP). I ended up joining the military which helped me a bit but still, in the hood it's not just Cambodian kids, it's everyone trying to understand life. Just because you found a way and good for you, doesn't mean that everyone had the same chance, choice, family, education, circumstances as you. So please stop comparing yourself to someone else's struggles. I made it, but I also remembered how much of a tight rope it was just to be here now. If you're living a great life then good for you, but please don't look down on others because they messed up while they were young or just trying to be a part of something. Just know that these folks on this video would probably have done different if they did what they knew now. God bless those that didn't get allowed a chance to change

I had a friend who came with her two little daughters in Los Angeles in 1983 about 3 months later she flew straight to Thailand then straight to her homeland where her relationship in Cambodia.
She got wrong dream about America, it took her more than 2 years to process the documents work from Thailand refugees camps to Philippine then to America. She rather raise her two daughters in Cambodia than in Los Angeles California where they were full gangsters.
I know these deportees had the same grow up in Mexican gangsters hike their parents were busy work jobs for new life in America.
I hope these deportees enjoy living in Cambodia.
