Recommendedation, charisma on command had a point he was talking about on the "power of the nod"
Apparently he got it from Oprah but basically it boils down to affirming the person ur talking to w/o verbal encouragement.
I think if ur looking for ways to improve ur interviews, getting rid of the "yep, right, yeah yeah" that ur doing will help these feel more professional.
Good talks tho, these are really helpful

Why do artists have to crap on professional classes like doctors and lawyers? You don't have to try and dunk on others to feel more secure in your choices.

It's not "crapping" on doctors and lawyers, the point is that pursuit of the arts is inherently a decision that forces you to find your own path, which is the opposite of such well-charted pursuits. If I want to become a doctor there is a VERY clear road laid-out for me, I mean, so much so that there is videos here on TH-cam about how to optimize every single step of that journey from pre-med up until residency.
Where is that for artists? If I like to paint portraits, is there a specific path to follow? Is there a certain level of job security at the end of the tunnel? No. It's just you and your skill, it is up to you to figure out how you're going to make it happen. That's why artists tend to bring up those professions, not because they're "inferior", but because they are the polar opposite and don't require the "leap of faith" that artistic pursuit has, at least not nearly at the same degree

I did not get the impression that he was dunking on doctors and lawyers.

I have a friend whose family is full of doctors and lawyers and he is like a black sheep because he chose to be an artist. He told me that several of his relatives would have preferred to be chefs or dancers but they went for more conventional options. It is not crapping on other professions, it is simply saying that you did not take the “normal” option.

@@thatmfdiego hmm, I never thought of it like that, artists do have it so much harder.
