    Really impressed with what you’ve achieved. I’ve owned my Expert for 12 years but chose an ex-wheelchair converted Citroen Dispatch, to convert. as it’s all glass, to sides and rear, so less claustrophobic, plus it comes already trimmed with a proper headliner, which suits me. - the dropped floor is boarded over leaving great storage underneath. Loved the way you presented this - dead relaxed and so helpful. Wonder if you still have it?

    Great Job! I am working on a 2010 ford transit connect "dobby", about a similar size as yours with a mirror image interior (I am in the states) lol. I made my bed 2 inches wider than I planned but 30" closed is real comfortable for me being a side curled up sleeper. I can pull it out to about 45" width (72" long) I am wanting to keep my galley only 8" wider than wheel well so my 5 gallon propane tank and the 6 gallon fresh water jug could slide in from the back and have running water for a sink and outside shower, and a single burner hob that I want to be able to make a folding little table on the rear door so I can swing it around under the side canopy and cook outside on a nice day. These guys give a great platform to build on. I only average around 25 mpg on the 2 litre non turbo gasoline model. Haven't done any road trips to find what highway mileage would be like. Happy Trails!

    • @VanOnTour
      @VanOnTour  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VanOnTour Sadly for small vans we have little choices here state side. "minivans" are nice but they lack headroom. Ford started making the roof lower after 2013, so it's why I searched out an older low mile model. Not that I can afford it but have seen people putting "pop tops" on them. I always loved the old vw van's but 8k for a camper pop top is lot of money lol. I am happy I can sit upright on my bed lol. Keep up the great work!

    Basic but proves you don't have to spend a fortune on a so called luxury camper in order to get exactly the same enjoyment out of camping in and RV. Thumbs up!

    I've had my trusty one of these vans for 4 years now I have one of the very last ones registered in that shape in 2007, I'm the second owner from new a painter owned it before me. As long as you drive them nice and steady the and don't expect much in acceleration 69BHP I can get 42mpg on long run. The engines are pretty much bullet proof, regular quality oil and filter changes, and the cam belt when needed and its good to go. I'd rather drive this than a modern car with all the electronic rubbish they have.

      I've covered 40k miles in mine now. Apart from a broken suspension spring and a failed starting motor she's been rock solid and I'm getting 50mpg on a run. Amazing vans.

    I have come across your video and subscribed I have the same van and year but I wouldn’t know where to start first I don’t know anything about electrics do they have to be wired in first before insulation also how does the wood stay on the sides and roof and does the holes for the lights need to be cut first before fitting as I say I have never attempted anything like this before and your van is amazing credit to you .

    Nice video. You can use car fuel tank to supply diesel heater and save some living space.
    Best regards.

      Hi Billy. I did consider finding the bulkhead but opted for the heavy blackout thermal curtain instead.

    Hey can you advise where you fed the positive cable from the main battery to leisure bat? can’t see an obvious route and want to avoid drilling. Awesome conversion btw

    • @VanOnTour
      @VanOnTour  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I used conduit and ran it down from the battery to the back of the engine then diagonally across to the leisure battery.
