Step-by-step instructions for a Citroen Berlingo III single bed. The instructions describe all dimensions, materials and woods that can be cut and obtained from the hardware store. Then the timbers and angles are put together like a kit.
Nice one, i was looking for something like this for my boat. it's about the same size but i'm stuck with 2 build in boxes and can't go with a slider bed, this is a good alternative. only thing i need to change is the bed self still needs to open for excess to the bottom of the boat ( where your kitchen is) so i was thinking to do the same thing but instead of mount it permanent i'll go with a 2nd piano hinge. thx for the vid

Thanks for the video, i think i have decided to go with your design and do something similar to my nv200. In a small van
as you know space is at an extra premium. Wonder if you woulld consider this, i am going to. The backrest/legs for the
bed are hollow, i am going to tinker with using that space and fixing ply in place with magnets or simple catches to
gain access to the hollow area. Just a thought. Mike in County Durham

I was using a blow up small double on it, but you could use cushion and use that as the seat cushion during the bench mode. Thanks for watching :)

I no longer have any sketches or dimensions for the bed, as far as I can remember, the bed was a small double in width and length with the extensions at the end extented. 120cm Wide x 190cm Lenght. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching :)
As I couldn't get a good look at the bench frame part closest to the wheel arch, did you make the frame flush up to the wheel arch or around it? Love this idea, the most accommodating bed idea I've seen soo far for a combo van build. 👍
Thank you, the frame butted up to the wheel arch and the top of the bed / seat sat just ontop of the wheel arch. Where the drawer slides in and out that is where the frame ends, the rest is supported ontop of the wheel arch which offers adequate support for such a small portion of the bed. Somewhere between #6 and #7 you installed the floor, or did I miss it? Maybe wasn't so complex but interested in how you insulated underneath. Great series!
Hi William, a lot of campers insulate the floors but very little heat is lost from the floor. I never really insulated the floor but I used some carpet of cut to slightly insulate and provide a little sound deadening. Just cut it to shape and layer the plywood on top and screwed the plywood in a few select areas. Make sure you check for anything you could damage such as brake lines etc when screwing the plywood down. Thanks for watching 😀

Hi Sam, honestly I’m failing to remember what it was now. I think it was 3”x2” for the frame and 18mm ply then. I seen a bed recently with pull out sliders it was a brilliant idea the channel is Josh Oakes check that out I can’t remember the video but it was fairly recent.

I can’t fully remember what dimension the bed were I think the legs / frame was 4” x 2” or 100mm x 50mm, the ply wood was 3/4” or 18mm hope that helps 😊.

How do you remove the spare tire?
Hi Rodrigo, the spare tyre on the berlingo is underneath the van, it’s on the outside. You will need a spanner and socket set as there is a bolt and frame holding it up to the underside of the van and normally they are rusted on. Hope that helps.

like it but if somebody hits you in the rear full speed .....think bout yr back the bed rams yr spine 🙄
I had the same thought. I'd cut a long diagonal slit in the four longest pieces and join them back together so they were strong vertically but kind of weak horizontally. If they rest on a vertical support posts then they would take the weight of people but in a crash they should deform and allow the rear half of the bed to collapse into the front. Similar thing with the top sheets, a diagonal cut so the back half can slide up and over. The whole thing would basically need a slight redesign.
Is the bed attached to the flooring?
attached to the side ribbing and the front bulkhead lip. Hope that helps.
