That boost in confidence has been so huge for me. I always feel so strong after I finish a run. Some days I am so amazed at what my mind and body can accomplish.
One main benefit for me is the friends I’ve gained through this shared love. Some I’ve been fortunate enough to run roads and trails with, making memories and others are overseas with memories still to be made. This community is awesome!
Running has helped me immensely. I'm a former college dlineman and gained a lot of weight (300+) in order to compete. Nobody told me that weight would be so hard to lose once you stopped playing 😅 Fast-forward six years later and I was very overweight and out of shape. I was also very depressed and lacked self confidence. My overall health was awful. However, I picked up running almost two years ago and lost 70+ pounds. I now run 6-7 (3-8 miles) times a week. I feel great and start every morning with a run before work. Running damn near saved my life. Not sure where I would be if I didn't start my journey back in 2020.
Hey you, thank you for all the encouragement! I used to run and then my knees went bad at 50, turned 56 in January and I signed up to run a local race with my daughter… I will run slow but that is ok… I am just glad I can jog again! Y’all wish me luck, thanks again, Valerie in Northern California !!!
I actually used running as a way to quit smoking. I smoked for 8 years and when I decided it was time to quit, anytime I got a craving, I would run as far as I could. Causing me to cough up all the nasty shit in my lungs and my craving we subside. I have now been smoke-free for a year and a half and found the love of running.
On day 168 of running every day, all most have a year, Always run by myself but always give other runners when am out n about the thumbs up, Love seeing other people getting after it.
I'm and social worker and it is all about self-care out there running when the world is sleeping its a good way for me to decompress after a long week helping my fellow veterans HOOAH ALL THE WAY!!!!! MY ARMY PEOPLE KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS LOL
I’m overweight as a person and I’ve been running for almost 4-5 months now consistently(3-6 days/week). I haven’t lost any weight(gained a bit) due to running surprisingly, maybe due to my bad diet, but it has helped me to get better self confidence in my body, and I don’t feel negative and it’s made me a more positive person, just like Hella!!!. I’ve also had some sorta issue w my thyroid a weeks(found out abt it after starting running) and after a months of running I don’t have the issue, so I’m all good. Btw, I’m still pretty young, in my teens
I find that as well that I don’t seem to be losing much weight but I know that I eat badly and I don’t track my calories at all it’s so hard because trying to run all the time makes me hungrier!
I'm so glad you're seeing the positives even if you're not seeing all the physical results you may want just yet. Keep up the great work! Feeling good and confident definitely shines through. Proud of you!
Just wanna say, youre doing a good job sir! With both your routine and videos. I have been running and sometimes get in a slump but its like fate when Im on TH-cam and see a video you posted and helps get my gears going again to get out and run! Thank you for the awesome videos and motivation!
Greetings from Antartik !!! I am running here om Antartik 3-4 times per week..When i come back home to Europe, it seems like i have some turbo engine in my body...
Hey you all! I have been running the whole time alone, my friends tell me always thats not something that they have interest in. Im dealing with some breathing conditions, i would love to hear how you controle your breathing in long distance run. Greetings from Germany
Hellah, do you run in zone 2? I want to get back into running and know zone 2 helps you improve your arobic base/make you go faster but expend the same energy. But to do that I have to basically speed walk and it ruins the passion! What do you do?
Honestly, this pandemic has been the longest period in my life that I haven’t been sick once (not even a common cold). I think the vaccine must protect against most common cold (coronaviruses) as well. Over 2 years and no sickness at all 😁. Being a runner definitely boosts your immunity and lung health. I have asthma but very mild and I’ve learned to control my breathing through running.
I always fluctuate between what I think is the biggest benefit of running depending on what running I tend to be doing, what I'm training for, the kinds of runs I do. But at the moment, the possibility for adventure is probably the biggest. Thanks for sharing, good to hear your reflections

I love getting my run in first thing in the morning because I feel like it gives me a mental edge over everyone else that I meet during the day.
Like you've already accomplished so much, right?!
@@HellahGood yeah absolutely ! I’m not the same person when I don’t run 😁

@@HellahGood i blew my knee wed...no running for a while, running my life, and now on hold WAAAAA

You have Big energy! Thank you!

I heard you on Rich Roll’s podcast a little while ago and I’m hooked to your videos! I love your positivity and energy! Keep at it ☺️
Hellah would love to see a video with no topic. A vlog or day in the life kinda video and see what you do

thank you so much! haha love to hear that.. go get your work in!
Running is also a good laxative. After every 5k i would finish strong straight to the bathroom. This alone probably took a minute off my time.
Awesome to immerse myself in nature 🏃♀️🌲⛰💪🏃💕🙏💝 Thank you for your inspiration 🙏
Discipline is also an important one for me!
life changing!
The best benefit of running is how it calluses the mind
that's a great one!
What is ‘calluses’?😅
I love your shoe drawer! 👟
I am looking at organization for my athletic shoes. May do something similar.
thank you! try it out.. love opening it up to all the colors haha
I feel like I told him In the last comment section to do this video. And he did. Looks like I need to start running
it's a sign!
Great video!

I’m curious to why you have all of the watches on
You hit all the bulls eye . I feel off if I don’t run..
right?!
I run 1-1.5 miles running too much is bad for the knees. 4 miles is too much
Love it.

Why do you wear all those watches?
question when I run I get pain on the inside of my right knee, is that runner's knee?
I've never had that issue so I can't be sure but you might benefit from talking to a PT!
How do you keep track of how many miles you have on each pair of shoes?
If you use strava or garmin Connect, you can enter your gear in a list, then after each run (or ride for cycling) it keeps track for you
I actually don't keep track but like Alan said, some of the apps have a feature to track! I switch my shoes up too much to keep up haha
Do you always run on roads?
yeah almost always
why so many watches ?
