- We are unboxing the Arduino Opta IoT PLC. This is the RS485 version.
This controller measures 3.5 inches by 2.75 inches wide and 2.5 inches tall.
The Opta is din rail-mounted. We have eight digital inputs that can be used for discrete or analog signals. The Analog will accept a signal from 0 to 10 volts with a resolution selectable from 12 to 16 bits. RS485 port is used for connections with other industrial equipment.
Four 10 amp rated relays and a user input button are on each current model of the Opta PLC. USB and Ethernet communications also come standard. The AUX port will be used for future expansion.

copy from Siemens LOGO xDDDD
Hi David Kohler,
I just reviewed the specifications for the LOGO. They are very different from the OPTA. The OPTA is geared toward IoT. This means there are communications to the cloud so you can view and monitor dashboards. The OPTA programs in the 5 IEC standard languages plus C++ (sketches) or a combination. The LOGO seems to only use a block-type program language.
The LOGO is capable of expansion, but the OPTA is not currently.
This is just a very brief comparison. Correct me if I am wrong because I have not programmed the LOGO.
Thanks,
Garry
