Yes, supply disruptions. I was initially looking for the WiFi version but decided that the RS485 version would work well for my needs.

Most exciting Arduino Opta PLC. I do have an AutomationDirect Arduino P1AM-100 PLC. However, it is always fun to try something new out. Thanks.

      Hi q zorn,
I agree; this is a very promising PLC. The P1AM Arduino has industrial hardware but is not a PLC. According to Finder (manufacturer), the Opta is a programmable logic relay. This is probably due to the current limit of I/O. However, it can be programmed in all IEC PLC programming languages and sketches (C++).
      Thanks for the comment.

Very interesting development, how does it compare to the Click in your opinion?

      Hi @frikkied2638
The Arduino Opta has a fixed 8 inputs and 4 outputs. It does not have expansion capability yet. No date on when this would be available. Programming is done in the IEC standard languages as well as Arduino C++. The Arduino PLC IDE is free for the Opta. Documentation is currently lacking in the Opta in terms of communciation. Arduino is improving this and should be out in a few weeks.
If you are programming in ladder logic diagram, need expansion then stick to the Click PLC. In the end it will be the more cost effect route.
If hope this helps you out.
      Regards,
      Garry

Keep waiting for it. Doesn't appear to be ready for primetime.

      Hi @James-jj6vr
The controller is improving, but you are correct. I would use this PLC for specific applications I know would work well in the field.
