Those lines in the backup camera are not only an estimate of your trajectory, they are estimates of the actual path of the rear tires. These are GREAT if you need to back up close to a curb or if you need to avoid something. The accuracy is pretty darn good. Dodge and Ram backup cameras are top notch. Very bright, crisp picture showing lots of detail. Compare to the Silverado's hazy dim POS camera.

Great couple of video's about this truck Mike, loved it. My wife and I just bought a 2019 1500 Limited and LOVE the truck. I appreciate that you went around the vehicle in a way that talks a bit about virtually every aspect. There really wasn't much at all that was left out! The rear under seat storage area in that truck is modular FYI. The barrier has a handle that pulls through the front, folds open and doubles the storage space. There are only a couple of minor negative things I've noticed about mine that I'd like to share. Let any followers interested in this vehicle know that the mileage seems to be off a bit, at least so far. We averaged about 13.5 (4x4 without E-torq) traveling from Kansas City MO where it was purchased, to Garden City KS. No speeding, just the speed limit with little wind. Not the greatest and hoping it will improve a bit more. Another thing I was a bit perplexed over was the fit and finish on the OUTSIDE of the truck. The rear bumper is about 3/4 of an inch lower on the ride side in comparison to the left. Also, the chrome molding around the side windows on both sides is well, coming off. We purchased our truck brand new off the lot and drove it home. It's bee driven very little since (we've had it a week at this point) but I noticed that the molding on the drivers side where the front meets the rear door is crooked. As I looked closer it was actually peeled back away from the door, it appears to be "stuck" on. I noticed the passenger side rear door curved portion, is sticking out from the truck about a 1/2 inch or so as well. I pressed it with my finger and it too is apparently pulling away from the door. Now call me crazy but spending as much as I did on this truck I was a little surprised. After talking with two different dealers they recognized this as a common issue, not a good sign but fixable. It's warrantied but still. Aside from these issues the truck seems well worth the money again, so far. We actually traded our Cayenne S V8, so we weren't sure what to expect but I love driving it. It's super quiet, smooth and comfortable and like you, I love the interior features! Would definitely recommend it to anyone...thanks again!
I live in oman in the middle east and taking a delivery of the limited version of this wonderful truck in black in the next couple of days. I'm so excited as I have never thought I would ever consider buying a Ram. I have driven either Mercedes or BMW for the past 25 years so I hope this one lives up to my expectations. Thank you for sharing your observations above which I also noticed with the vehicle still parked inside the show room. You are absolutely right about the points that you have brought up. It is certainly unfortunate for a truck this thoroughly thought of in terms of attention to details. You will never get these nagging issues with German cars however. I hope they do attend to these minor issues as this vehicle really deserves it. I checked the Ford f150 today just to make absolutely sure that I wasn't making the wrong decision buying a Ram instead of a Ford. Man, the Ford is light years behind. It is so plasticy everywhere you touch what a disappointment. But there again, a Ford is nothing other than (Fixed Or Repaired Daily). They really have bad reputation in this part of the world and totally unreliable with an atrocious resale value

Not sure if you were responding to me or the video, either way I've had my truck (2019 Limited 1500 Hemi) for a couple of weeks now and have seen quite a myriad of issues, many will be repeated from above (sorry). Now I know there are going to be haters that might see this and disagree but here me out. This is MY truck, this doesn't mean that this typical at all, just my personal experience and observation. Now many might ask why I didn't see these things during the purchase. It was mostly covered in snow, was an evening purchase so it was dark, and frankly I wasn't thinking a new vehicle would have this many issues. I also haven't driven the truck much save the trip from KCMO to GCKS, then to Amarillo where I had the local RAM dealer do an inspection for tags. Even HE found issues that drove him nuts, so it's not just me. I talked with their Sales manager and looked at his truck, same model just different color and he had none of the issues below...here goes. Highway mileage is still horrible but better, 15.9 MPG. One of my biggest grievances to date are fitment issues. This thing looks like a 12 year old put it together. NONE of the body panels on my truck are aligned, none. The rear bumper is about a 1/2" lower on the passenger side, the hood alignment is WAY off from both fenders, the passenger and driver side fender to door alignment, and both driver and passenger chrome side window trim are coming off (double sided tape). Driving into a stiff wind the drivers door has a whistle. We've had numerous issues with the 12" touch screen not working (doesn't boot up after starting vehicle) having to reboot several times. The "touch" function fails intermittently (preset buttons won't work but then begin working again later) and occasionally the display "locks up". We still can't find anyone that can get it out of demo mode, neither Sirius (5 different calls) nor the dealer can fix this issue. When receiving a call, the speaker "cracks" when the person speaks, almost as if the speaker is blown. SO. When an older couple came over and asked how I liked my new RAM, I had to tell them I wasn't really that excited about it and showed them why. If anyone who sees this is thinking about purchasing a new 2019 RAM 1500 Limited, P L E A S E, do your homework. Again, this is just what I have seen with my personal truck and yes, this truck was purchased BRAND NEW. No it wasn't a salvage title, and it hadn't been sold or "demoed". It had 145 miles on it, but that's not unusual. All of these issues on the other hand, are not typical. Hope this helps.
After 2 F150's and 3 Silverados (all great trucks) I ordered a '19 Ram Big Horn last week. Anxious for it to arrive. That console and the backup cam (along with the ride, styling, pano sunroof, quiet cabin, etc) sold me.
I had the 2 tone Int. on 2017. Just traded for the Laramie Sport, black interior. Same Del Red on the outside with the black grill and sports hood. Plus 22 in rims. Love the new Rams. Good review.

Awesome review, I have ordered a 2019 longhorn with all the goodies and then some that you would get on the limited. I ordered a longhorn with the monotone brown and black interior which is by far the best interior offered at any trim level. Can't wait for it to arrive!
So why would you turn off auto engine shut off? Also the floor boards are nice when you're at a car wash and someone needs to dry the top/back window. The camera is really nice for tight drive thru wondows

Mike, why turn off the best stop start system offered in any vehicle? Where you thinking of all the other vehicles with stop start that use the starter? I think you should re-visit your statement.
That’s the whole idea behind thier new system with the 48 volt system, it seemless when start stop compared to the other vehicles that shake and shimmer. You save a lot of fuel having the electrical system running everything instead of the gas motor. The new Ram start stop has already started to set a new standard for start stop and you can’t even notice the motor coming on and off. Also,most people don’t know this but idling his horrible for your engine

Didn’t think I’d like it either 4 years ago when I got the dial.. I was old school. Now I’d never want to go back to a standard column shift to be honest.
I just purchase a brand-new ram 1500 limited two months later it is setting in my garage and will not start. I then tried calling the dealership multiple times and asked to speak with a service adviser they are refusing to answer the phone on multiple attempts the dealership name is prestige dodge in Las Vegas NV, this is very POOR customer service. I am new to the ram all my life I purchase GMC AND CHEVY TRUCKS I NOW KNOW THAT THIS PURCHASE OF MY 2019 RAM 1500 LIMITED WAS A BIG MISTAKE. I WILL INFORM ALL MY FAMILY AND FRINDS KNOW WHAT A MISTAKE IT IS TO DEAL WITH THE CHRYSLER CORP.
paul andrews Well you did a big No No. Never buy the first year of a new model give it a few years to let the bugs be worked out. Also dealerships are actually independent from the manufacture. Try a different one

Don't like the cheap shifter dial/knob or the delayed shift time. Also don't like that you have to shut the door to backup at all. Does anyone in the design department actually "use" a truck. Ever try to hookup a trailer by yourself in the rain at night? I've bought my last Dodge Ram, or any other truck without a real shifter...oh wait it's just a Ram now. :/

Great review. Way too much chrome and need eighteen inch wheels, no sun roof with no twelve inch control screen and I'm a buyer. Other then that LOVE IT !!!
I don't like what they did to longhorn in this generation. The steering wheel, the colors and shapes - all of that looks odd, and where'd all the neat stitching go? I like some bells and whistles, but this is too much bells to whistle for this truck with the theme longhorn supposed to have going on. I don't know, i mean what is this? Is this a rangerover? Is this a rich cowboy truck? A tesla perhaps?
The passenger side foot well looks very narrow. 5 weeks ago a co-worker of mine ordered a Ram Laramie Big Horn with two-toned paint job, and just yesterday the dealership told him that Ram is no longer offering that paint scheme! He has a VIN #, but not the paint scheme that he ordered??? $72K and he's not getting the truck he ordered!!

I'm pretty sure when the engine stops the AC stops also, that might be the reason?
It turns the engine off every time you come to a complete stop.
i wouldnt want the engine stopping when im on a steep hill
The stop start is excellent. If your cabin is cooling or heating the system will disable itself so no need to even think about it.

Does the "start/stop" feature reset everytime you start the truck? Can I turn that off permanently?

A large benefit of E torque is that it makes the Stop/Start imperceptible. Leave it on. Otherwise, don't pay extra for E Torque.

Mike, why turn off the best stop start system offered in any vehicle? Where you thinking of all the other vehicles with stop start that use the starter? I think you should re-visit your statement.

That’s the whole idea behind thier new system with the 48 volt system, it seemless when start stop compared to the other vehicles that shake and shimmer. You save a lot of fuel having the electrical system running everything instead of the gas motor. The new Ram start stop has already started to set a new standard for start stop and you can’t even notice the motor coming on and off. Also,most people don’t know this but idling his horrible for your engine

Thomas Bowman I don’t blame him. I love this new Ram, but their notorious reliability, or lack thereof, is a major turnoff. Ford doesn’t suck or Ram wouldn’t have copied so much from them with this new design. Educate yourself

Don't like the cheap shifter dial/knob or the delayed shift time. Also don't like that you have to shut the door to backup at all. Does anyone in the design department actually "use" a truck. Ever try to hookup a trailer by yourself in the rain at night? I've bought my last Dodge Ram, or any other truck without a real shifter...oh wait it's just a Ram now. :/

I don't like what they did to longhorn in this generation. The steering wheel, the colors and shapes - all of that looks odd, and where'd all the neat stitching go? I like some bells and whistles, but this is too much bells to whistle for this truck with the theme longhorn supposed to have going on.

The passenger side foot well looks very narrow. 5 weeks ago a co-worker of mine ordered a Ram Laramie Big Horn with two-toned paint job, and just yesterday the dealership told him that Ram is no longer offering that paint scheme! He has a VIN #, but not the paint scheme that he ordered??? $72K and he's not getting the truck he ordered!!
