    Steve is the GP 'Dental Goat'. Can't believe I've been paying thousands to learn some of these techniques. I literally watched one of his vids and took out impacted MN 3rds the next day using one of his techniques.

      @@centerforard Steve have you compared the healing at 6 months after doing this procedure vs simply extracting and placing a Osteo Plug or some easier grafting method. I think this technique is really awesome, I just think if you're waiting that long it wouldn't matter as much. I would think with this technique you could probably get back in there just after a few months, that's were I would see the selling point in doing this.

      The technique you are referring to would probably work. I just placed implants in a patient's first molar area following extraction and PRF/artificial bone graft performed 6. months ago. The bone was as dense as concrete. I know this combination of PRF mixed with artificial cancellous/cortical bone in molar extractions works well when allowed to heal for 6 months prior to implant placement. Many times I place the implant following a single rooted tooth extraction at the time of extraction. As a matter of fact, I am about to go extract a bicuspid tooth now and will probably place the implant immediately following the extraction. It's multi rooted teeth that I prefer to allow to graft and heal for 6 months prior to implant placement because I want the healed site to be dense at the time of implant placement.

    What kind of membrane did you use and how long will it last ? Collegen ?

    • @centerforard
      @centerforard  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Resorbable collagen membrane. I prefer a membrane that is not real stiff like a starched shirt. I want the collagen membrane to conform to the area I am covering when the membrane is wet. I believe it will last about 3 months. You can also use a slab of PRF as a membrane. I normally place a ressorbable collagen membrane over the freeze dried bone mixed with PRF and cut the PRF up into small pieces. I use the PRF serum as the wetting agent for the graft material. I like to mix the PRF with freeze dried bone because the freeze dried bone gives the graft some "body." If you just compresss the PRF alone into an extraction site, for me it is like working with jello and is hard to mold.

    Best single technique I’ve learned from you Dr Cutbirth is doing three wraps on the first wrap of suturing. Before that I really was terrible at suturing, now I get nice clean, snug closure

      Terrific. I have used these methods I am teaching for many years. I learned many of the methods from my mentors many years ago. Small parts done correctly make all the difference.

    Great video as always doctor.
    I'm a dental student finishing my last year of college and I would really appreciate it if you do a small video about ergonomics and how to get maximum visibility for all teeth surfaces while working especially during a full crown prep of a lower 2nd molar, also a list of everything you use for that matter would be great (types of mirrors, retractors, loupes)
    and thank you for your tremendous efforts and making the world easier for young dentists.

      When i Graduated a mentor of mine Omer Reed forced me to start standing to do all my dentistry, completely changed the way I do dentistry to this day. There's a reason all OMFS stand to do all their work., sitting limits your ability to get the best vantage point for what you're doing. I'll literally prep teeth from both left and right sides of a patients' mouth.

    Hi dr thanks for this video. Question
    Any suitable irrigating solutio used to disinfect the socket esp. With periapical infections and perio disease before bone graft.

    • @centerforard
      @centerforard  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Infection in a socket is always a concern. I would irrigate the socket well with chlorhexadine in a scutan syringe and place the patient on antibiotics, Keflex or Amoxicillin 500mg tid for 5 days.

    Consider
    Looking into the Versah drill system. It will greatly enhance your immediate molar placement . Place 2 to 3 mm subcrestal in furcation . Fill socket w graft. You can restore in 4 months. Osseodensification is a game changer. If no furcatio at all due to infection or root proximity then I graft and wait 4 months. .please keep posting you are doing an amazing service

    Should I still see a socket/hole after recording prf and extraction? I’m in day 8 n the sutures dissolved yesterday , there’s no pain but definitely still a socket. It doesn’t go all the way up tho but a good size hole still

    When I do Implants in upper jaw between two teeth, clinically it shows exact at centre but xray shows its near mesial teeth.
    Could you please guide me how to place Implants parallel with the adjacent teeth?
