I really enjoyed this interesting video, very informative,it recalled memories of my dental nursing days, beak to cheek was a mantra to us trainees,to remember which upper forceps were for right or left!!
I had that exact tooth extracted last night. I wish it came out as easy as that. Nice video! I understand this is aimed at students but it still nice too see from a clinical point of view what is happening in your mouth. Your point of view is very restricted in the chair
How much force does it take? Cana man of average strength pull teeth? I have a lower cuspid going hot and I am just about to order the pillars from amazon and pull it myself. Before you ask, no I don't qualify for any government program and there are no dental colleges in my area. I have had infected teeth pulled at the dentist office that they could not get numb so I think I will be able to handle the pain. Thanks for your help.
You can do it yourself at your own risk. However, first educate yourself how to do it by watching the following video; th-cam.com/video/EAaIeBmHzGw/w-d-xo.html Also, on Amazon you can buy simple anesthetic which will significantly reduce your pain during extraction.
@User39. Nope, I chickened out and paid a dentist. The closest I ever got was I got good and drunk and put a pair of linesman pillars on a molar once. I could not get a good grip and they kept slipping off.
@@sandimonteith9920 it causes the socket walls to collapse thus causing a knife edge ridge after healing which makes it unfavorable prosthetic-wise and may need bone augmentation & grafting. also it really doesn’t do that much benefit
The micro fractures caused by the bone expansion during extraction would sever the capillaries and delay on bone recovery and healing . Infact reduction is the first step in fracture healing as taught in orthopaedics.
Years ago elevators were never used . I've recently had a tooth out and 2 wks later it's still not healed because the dentist cut my gum with the tool that elevated the gum
Being a dental student and see this video makes me so grateful. Its so simply described and well understand . Thanks so much .
Can I extract my own tooth?
Thank you very much for considering about left handed people

You will regret this. Please dont ever do that. Not even a dentist can extract his own tooth. Please visit your dentist.

Never ever squeeze the socket walls after extraction!!
Why?
