Season 2 Episode 3 “Bad Moon Rising”: Tonight there is a full moon and the rookies are feeling unnerved. Andy and Swarek find themselves investigating the theft of three severed heads from a medical lab, and quickly pick up the trail of a mentally unstable man who has stopped taking his medication. Andy exposes herself in an attempt to protect a young woman at risk and Luke suffers the potentially lethal consequences of those actions!

So what I can understand is that the guy is a medical student who is trying to cure himself of him mental illness. But the longer he's off his meds, the worse his mental state becomes. To the point he's convince that him and the coffee girl are in a relationship. When he realises she's moving away he believes that he has to cure his brain quickly, so he steals the heads to experiment on. When the police get involved he thinks they are trying to break him and the girl up so he goes to her house and asks her not to believe the police. When he sees she's scared he blames the police and goes after them, thinking that killing them will fix things between him and his supposed girlfriend.

I think his mental illness is Schizophrenia; abnormal behavior, delusions, and memory issues are some of symptoms, which explains why he thinks he didn’t steal a car. Either he can’t remember or like you said, his ‘relationship’ with the barista. your claim is more supported since he mentions he goes to the coffee shop a lot, in which his memory issues could twist the reason he always goes there; his ‘girlfriend’ works there

Your stage director or whoever helps makes the cops look more real is doing a bad job, first of all where are the Police Officer's belt keepers? Their duty belts are not supposed to fall down when someone is trying to grab their gun. First what you need to do is fix that issue and get these Police Officers AKA (Actors) some belt keepers.
