Jennifer it is so so dirty under the seat and that area of the plane is seldom thoroughly cleaned or disinfected! It's not about any particular airline, it's about the person cleaning it. I travel a lot and I always carry two small plastic garbage type bags with me. One for the trip going and the second one is for flying back. I place my handbag in this plastic bag before I place it under the front seat. That way my bag stays nice and clean and I don't have to worry about germs. It's also a bit more secure. Hi Jennifer Love your videos. I’m traveling for 20 days in Europe. 12 days on a Seabourn cruise and pre/post cruise stays in Venice and Istanbul. I was challenged by the formal nights on Seabourn but now that I’m on the ship I stressed for no reason. A couple of dressy slacks with a number of nice blouses would have sufficed. What I purchased and loved was the Maui Jim Ocean sunglasses. The Seabourn ship had them in the gift shop and purchased them on impulse. I wore them more than my Chanel sunglasses!! My Away carry on suitcase with the Nomad Lane Bento Bag worked great. However I overpacked and will make note of all the things I didn’t wear or use. Seabourn provides a lot of toiletries so I didn’t need to bring so many of my own. Anyway thank you for all of your suggestions.

Last year my husband and I went to Italy and stayed in the Amalfi Coast area for a few days. We loved the town of Sorrento. It was charming and suggest you don't miss it. Happy anniversary. I am wondering do they not weigh your carry on bags at the airport? For the past 2 yrs they have been checking the weight of carry on bags from where I live. I used to travel with just a backpack for 2 wk trips but now if I do I'd go over the weight limit of 7kg. One airline even weighed in my carry on and personal bag. They set a limit of 10kg for the carry on and personal bag.
@@JustJennifer That's good that they aren't weighing them. Traveling with only carry on baggage is so much easier saves a lot of time and less chances of losing things.

A quick question, why an international flight from US does not allow a checkin luggage? Is it American thing? I recall we had to pay extra for local flight within US while travelling to pay extra to pay for luggage’s because American airline charges extra which was very odd but going to Italy ? Did you have to pay extra if you chose too? Also I found US airport staff very unfriendly and not nice at all. I recall they scared me and 1 year old baby at a time with an empty milk bottle which they made a fuss.

Also, some of the larger carry on dimensions are a bit bigger than what the airline max is. I assume it still fits in the overhead but do they scrutinize over the slightly larger bag? TIA
Thank you. I have been on many trips in various parts of the world with my AWAY Bigger Carry On and have never had a problem with it fitting in the overhead compartment. I suppose different airlines will have different regulations and requirements, but I have not had any issues. As for souvenirs, I really rarely buy much while traveling.. But when I do, I go to a post office/mail center and mail it to myself from the vacation spot, if needed. I've also traveled home carrying my larger sweater/jacket on my arm to free up suitcase space for any additional purchases..

But isn’t it carry on suit case should only weigh 15lbs? Looking at your suit case, it is more than 15 lbs and you still have another black carry on, although that can be considered personal bag.

I have never needed to do laundry during a trip. White clothing isn’t as scary as it seems. I can sit on steps and benches with no worries. Bring a couple Clorox wipes and you will have nothing to worry about! 👍🏻

We have all started wearing icompression socks, when we do longer flights, including our teenage kids.

We usually fly United Airlines. No, they do not weigh our carry on bags.

Did I miss hair tools? I know hairdryers are typically provided wherever you go. I couldn't live without at least a small curling iron!
I usually just blow dry my hair with the provided dryer and leave it straight. If there is room, I’ll bring a curling iron.

No, I’ve never had an issue with mascara. Actually, since TSA pre-check, I’ve never even had to take my “liquids” bag out to show! Thank you!!

I usually wear black, stretchy, above ankle pants, a comfortable short sleeve top and a cardigan for if it gets chilly.

I think its a larger bag. For information - our UK airlines only allow a small carry on case plus under seat. And you have to pay for it. X
