Thank you for posting this video. You explain very well and to the point. Stupid question. How do I know I properly closed my radiator cap? I twisted it on like a pill bottle and heard it click. Very helpful video. You have a new follower.
2016 Jk owner. Just replaced my radiator hoses with new Silicone hoses. Somehow got a hole in stock hose. Totally drained and replaced coolant with new correct Mopar coolant. The last week... thermostat usually goes to normal range... but every few days stays stuck at 185.. which trips the CEL for low coolant Temps. We are guessing its from air bubbles.
    Any other tips?

I bought a 2013 jeep jk last year with a 3.6 engine. Recently found out that this thing is leaking coolant through the hose, it's fluorescent green, should I clean the hose thoroughly and replace it with the factory purple coolant.

If you get one of those universal funnel kits that fit in the radiator cap will make it easier. I had similar issues in my 2014 and got a thermostat code even with the thermostat still working good, but eventually air got into the system and had to bleed using the thermostat valve, the cabin fan at full with heat on and 3k rpm till all bubbles go away and the air comes out real hot. A lot of bubbles get trapped in other parts of the system.

Keep an eye on oil/water leaking underneath and keep an eye on your temp gauge. The whole deal was because of the plastic oil cooler unit failing, basically the plastic loosing properties with time.
Get the aluminum after market part as soon as you can on these 3.6s for your peace of mind, had one of those installed for more than a year, problems solved.
