    The best way to trim asparagus is to bend eash spear till it breaks. Bottom is the woody part. I grow my own here in Alberta. Looks good and will try your recipe in the spring when the asparagus come up. I usually steam them and have an asparagus sandwich with BUTTER only.

    Thank you so much. Never grew up with this veg in Jamaica and I've been intimidated by it for years. Decided to try it for dinner dinner today. Sick and tired of broccoli and spinach. Can sautéed onion and garlic be added?

    this works awesome way better than the mushy stuff I been making. mix it up I put a little cap of crab boil in the water for that down da bayou taste lol. and a dash of garlic powder to go with the salt and pepper.

    Did you put the Asparagus in ice water after you boiled for 30 seconds or did you just go straight into the pan? I've never tried Asparagus before but I'm cooking some this weekend so think I'll follow this recipe.

    Great video! But the funny thing for me is that in my country (Romania), asparagus is a rather expensive and rare food. Too bad, cause it's really healthy!

      I was wondering the same thing. Tonight was the first time I've ever cooked up some asparagus. Just threw it in a pan with butter and salt. DELICIOUS! Cooked it for more than 3min though

      +Francine Gonzalez There's a flavor that Olive oil has that's different is all. But you can use other oils, yes.

      Yes... it's called blanching and it only takes a minute but it really helps with the texture of the asparagus.

    If you are using hi heat U sure do not want olive oil. Use coconut oil for hi heat
