Another job on one of our favorite cars out there. This little Seat was booked in with us for timing chain replacement. After we diagnose the car we end up doing something absolutely different .

Im getting the same thing in my cupra and also the gears were sliding a bit a the clutch then it started making these noise when i put on D its goes but when i rev it u can hear it this video helped alot thanks
So thats how a dual clutch works. I have a 2019 Elantra GT Nline dct 7 That has enclosed dry clutches so far wonderful performance.

Looks like this car has been raced daily as all oil seals are leaking. Must have hit some hot temperatures. Check for oil leaks if anyone will buy this type of car. That’s a good sign to see maintenance. Any recent cleaned engine could show this.
Only 70k miles, man.. Someone has kicked the crap outta this car
@@imfuctifino or its just part of maintenance of a car, cars have intervals mileage/months and at 70k miles seat could recommended a gear box service at 70k, to stop problems like that happen

@@BenState customers dont realise this and why the clutch had issues, as i didnt have the box serviced in time and people just assume cars break due to people driving them hard

any idea what could be wrong. the car was sitting some time the battery got drained but the problem is the car when selecting gear jerks,jerking (when going from neutral to drive... ,goes away sometimes and sometimes car if i went from neutral to drive and to reverse and repeat that... (2 times) (than went limp mode).
what you think could be wrong? low power because of drained battery (car was started with cables) or you think somthing else and if so what is it.
(the car doesnt jerk while driving.) but you do feel slightlty harder gear change (not allways)

Hi, i have a vw golf 7 1.2 tsi, and i have the same rattling noise but all time( some times when i depress the gas pedal the noise stops). 5 speed manual gearbox and the car has 106000 km. Every shop i go they dont find an issue, could it be the case? Some times when i go from 1 to 2nd gear there is a strong pull backwards when i press the clutch as it looks like losing pressure or braking . Could you give me your opinion? Thanks
Just had similar issue on a VW Polo 1.2 TSI. Noise whirring sound seemed to be coming from timing chain side but was gearbox transferring through engine. If the noise goes away when the clutch is depressed then it could be input shaft bearing - that's what ours was and luckily fixed under an extended warranty!
Had one in 2010. And was never out of the garage for problems with this gearbox. Dealership said there was nothing wrong with it. But seeing this video now I feel vindicated. Had the same symptoms/noises. F#@$%%s

My thought exactly. Not sure how they have accounted for this when they have fitted the shims?
A dial gauge & long hook 🪝 . That's what I use

Any idea why dsg oil would leak out of the top breather on these cars? Could it be it has been overfilled

@@shimon2476 the mechatronic and Ecu and brand new. It’s the gearbox itself
@@Chris-xc3xz if it's leaking from the gear box breather which is the breather on the black cover to the back of the gearbox you have to much oil in the gearbox side there should only be 1.5 to1. 7 liters of oil in there
@@shimon2476 On the 7 speed there’s no real way of knowing how much is in there. silly design really, 6 speeds have the plastic oil level tube so it’s easy to tell

Would it not of paid to replace the rear main oil seal as well whilst the box was out? Or do you work on the premise of "If it's not broken, don't fix it" . Good video guys 😎👍
depends on available time. PTFE seals need 4hrs min to set

70000 miles and worn clutch...seems a bit wrong IMO.
It sounds like the dual mass flywheel needs replacing, not the clutch
