You guys are the last hope we have of capturing high quality video of these beautiful old jets in action and on the ground. Please don't stop making videos of them. It will probably be only a couple more years before they are taken out of service.

The F/4 Phantom is my favorite fighter jet. I was in the Air Force and use to sit on the flight line in trucks about 100ft. away from several Phantoms taking off. We had our flight line headset hearing protectors on, even in the truck the protection wasn't enough. The Phantom is big loud. I think the only thing louder is a B-52.

Imagine that Israeli F-4 w/ the P&W 2010s? A smaller fan diameter F-100 engine. McDonnell Douglas had the US State Department squash this because it would of hurt F-15 sales.

is 68-402 still flying? it matters alot
These ex USAF F-4s were withdrawn from use around 2005. Those that currently still flying are upgraded F-4s bought by Hellenic Air force in the 70s. So I believe 68-402 and the like are not flying since many years.

Love those big smokey J79 turbojets
The UK Phantoms used different engines (Rolls Royce Spey I believe) and consequently didn't smoke as much as these
@AndrewNutley-lf9uy certainly did use Spey engines on UK F4s, RB.168.Mk.202. This required huge airframe modifications and enlarged air intakes for these engines as they are wider than US J79s. However, the UK F4 produced more drag on it after these engines were installed. Performed better at lower altitudes but not as good as the J79s at higher altitudes.

I hate those Cameras, what is the purpose of the Gyro Cameras at all? It just destroys the entire Video
Having thousand hours of footage I believe that every picture counts either with gyro or without.
@@DrAltitude of course it does. At the beginning its up to the Pilots decision which Camera to use, but it starts to be a habit which is simply annoying...at least in my opinion. But the raw image and the raw impression of being upside down is just way better than any Gyro (Crap)
@@tenduvaiilsindarin2876 you can't have them all. Some want sound, some want soundtrack. Some love 4k 60 frame, some like 360 footage with 25fps.
